This might be the most delusional comment in ISH history. Yes teams are leaving Mitchell Ingles and Conley wide open cuz they’re afraid of Rudy “Shaq” Gobert

I think he could do an ok job. It's not like kobe wasn't a good defender he just wasn't mj. I don't know of a lesser version ofj would beat those teams. Bulls beat lakers 4-1 so maybe kobe still wins but it goes 6 or 7. Blazers would be tougher. Clyde wasn't as efficient as usual partly due to MJ's defense. Again pip was also a good defender so...

05' Zydrunas.... 17/9 and 2.1 blocks.. 19.5 PER.. 0.149 WS/48.. #12 defense.. lottery
90' Pippen........ 16/7 and 1.2 blocks.. 16.3 PER.. 0.087 WS/48.. #19 defense.. nearly won title
Prime lebron needed a much better cast to be title-worthy than the 05' Cavs, which had better team defense and offensive help than the 90' Bulls

The fact is Ben came out hard at the start of the game and Rudy struggled to guard him.
The Jazz were a little blindsided by this.
Gobert went to the bench and when he came back into the game he had more success keeping Ben from getting to the hoop.
It is true Rudy made some adjustments that slowed him down and Favors got smoked mostly...

It would have been the 93 Suns by a margin. Barkley was the best player MJ faced in the 90s and KJ was the best 2nd option. But as 3ball pointed out in another thread, KJ was injured and trash in the 93 playoffs and Barkley had an injured shooting elbow and was limited offensively outside the paint, while the Bulls were at full strength.
So...

They had no chance with Woolridge which is why he wasn't around for long. Woolridge wasn't a star and MJ still had a lot to learn

It’s obvious from these veiled shots that Woolridge didnt feel Mike brought out the competitive best in his teammates. MJ needed a Pippen to lead the team so he could focus on flashy highlights and “getting his” while still winning games.
MJ and Wooly wouldnt have worked any better in the 90s than they did in the 80s. No Pip, no chip.

close but not quite. chicago was better because pippen produced MORE impact than anyone lebron played with.
05 isn't lebron's prime either.

The biggest crybaby star\owner duo in NBA history, hope they never win anything together. Be a top 6 seed if you don't like it, crybaby. It prevents teams from tanking, it's good for the league.

We've established that the 90' Bulls were title-worthy despite an inferior team defense and inferior offensive help than the 05' Cavs.

big z and pippen played similar #2 roles though. we also know that BPM/VORP adjust per 100 possessions - so per 100, pippen produced higher quality impact than big z.
which, again, leaves us with 90 mj and 05 lebron. since they are comparable in your mind, how much better weas PEAK lebron? :oldlol:

The point is that MJ/Woolridge had no chance in the 80's when a super-team was required to win, but would've won in the 90's after expansion spread the talent around and allowed 2-star teams to win... ultimately, anyone wins alongside the goat in a 2-star vs 2-star format

Tbh, higher usage automatically gives a player higher value above replacement (VORP) in a vacuum, but low efficiency on that higher volume results in less credit for winning (ws/48)..
Big Z simply had better PPG, efficiency, PER and WS/48 than 90' Pippen (better offensive production), while the 05' Cavs had a better team defense than the 90'...

nobody is "refusing" to do anything bud. pippen could be better than payton. while kobe could absolutely be better than pippen. not sure where you're going with this, but that was a terrible example.

Woolridge was borderline better than MJ. I think if he didn't do as much coke... as in like still did coke but only after games and not during timeouts, the Bulls would have won 7 rings and Woolridge would have won all the Finals MVP's.
