The Hakeem/ Jokic thing is interesting, because they really do have different responsibilities on top of how different their eras are. Jokic is very clearly a better shooter and passer, and that's regardless of era. Hakeem is no doubt light years ahead on defense, and would be in an era( you can see that Hakeem would be fine on defense in 2025...

Are you saying Stockton made Karl Malone?
Malone was 22/12 before Stockton was even a full-time starter.

Exactly. He's engineered this whole 'winning spotlight' thing to discredit Pippen's all-NBA nods. And even then, if he wanted to argue that Pippen was all-nba in 94 because of the 'winning spotlight' from the 91-93 titles and not based on his play that season, then why was he also all-NBA in 95 coming off 94 when he lost in the 2nd round? Why...

Actually makes Karl Malone look that much better, he's dropping 30+ on this terribly ranked offense.

akeem was defender first in league besides a weak side offense and boards man...
When the 2 chips , his game was polished and his foot work was supreme.
Players today go to him to immolate his foot work to create open shoots.
Remember Giannis's early years.. Now he has Dirk one legged as well as left wing foot work like Akeem/

That is a separate argument. This discussion is about offense. Try to keep up.

Yet he could completely take over and control games on both ends of the floor simultaneously. Joker could never dream of controlling a game defensively.

I don't need to tread carefully when Jokic's numbers are double Hakeem's. :lol
During Hakeems title runs he scored only a few points more than Jokic's career playoff average, with barely more than half the assists and worse efficiency.
If someone wants to say Hakeem was a better player overall i would disagree but wouldn't care enough to...

I.mentioned this earlier a few pages back, but you took a sledgehammer to it.:applause:
Also I supposed the winning spotlight made Scottie an all star in 90 and made him all defense in 91, before rhey ever won too.....stupid narratives always get torpedoed once someone can be bothered to give facts.

Looking at the rosters the biggestvdifference i see between 91-92 and the previous yearbis stockton finally had a backup that didnt suck. Of course they traded him. Makes sense that your ofrtg would go up if you dont suck when your hofer goes to the bench which was the case for much of his career

The best offense i ever saw from them was under the comedian as the out ran showtime in the 88 playoffs. Stockton with thurl and malone running alongside while eaton stayed at one end of the floor using his great skill to hold his arms above his head.

Ewing was a beast for thompson as a defender at georgetown... I was shocked at his offensive game when he hit the pros ...
as a complete player i would take ewing over joel any day of the week.. felt sorry for ewing not getting a ring.. which kinda of puts him in the bob lanier catagory.

Or maybe you can't expect much offensive production with this guy as your head coach
Jazz offense instantly became better under Sloan. Hell, in '92 they were the #4 offense with a 35 year old Eaton starting 81 games that year.
