So you are saying Jokic wasn't able to elevate any of his teammates to All-Star level....
Larry Bird did it what three times with Parish, McHale, and Ainge
Magic did it with Norm Nixon, James Worthy, and AC Green

oh you want me to make my case? i could have been well on my way to doing that last night if we hadn't gotten bogged down in all of your bullshit. now unless you have adhd or the attention span of a two year old, pay attention for a few minutes and you might learn something. i promise this is < a four minute read despite how daunting it looks....

I don’t reside in Philadelphia so have at it calling the city whatever. You can do that for damn near all major cities in America. No one in Philly argues about Rocky being a real person. No one from Philly even cares about Rocky. That’s for fat tourist like yourself to take pictures after you catch your breath going up all those steps.

It's based on both.
Jokic is one of the best shooters of all time and one of the best post players of all time. He is elite everywhere, basically a bigger version of Larry Bird...so of course Jokic is on here.
Jokic is at like 28ppg on 61 TS% for his playoff career, which is almost 100 games deep.

I have Shaq and Duncan above Bird and Magic.

I find it strange how these two seem to automatically leapfrog Shaq & Duncan in the rankings when they both had much better longevity and were better (at least arguably in Duncan's place) at their peak too.

Wow, and what happened the one time in Jokic's prime where Murray played great? JOKIC WON THE CHIP!
Gee, if only Murray could have done that and even just stayed healthy in the other years.

You guys really are dumb. The part of my post you quoted is referencing when those players are active teammates of Jokic. Russ was washed and a back up lol. Jokic's best teammate ever has been Jamal Murray, who only has a few healthy playoff runs under his belt, and Murray has never made any all-star, all-nba, or all-defense team.
Jokic, for...

Perimeter shooting and free throws.
He's never been on the level of a MJ, Kobe, Bird, Curry, or KD. He'd be the GOAT for sure if he was.
Even Magic, who isn't known as a perimeter scorer, at least become elite at free throws.
Lebron never become an elite shooter and honestly I don't know why. A guy like Kawhi managed to become elite...

Wild how Arenas can’t stay away from card-related trouble. The feds coming in makes this way bigger than some backyard poker night. When they say “conspiracy,” it usually means they’ve been watching for months. Even the $50k bond is light considering the indictment. I had my own dumb California arrest years ago, nothing this serious, but getting...

That would definitely explain his straight up refusal at times to take the last shot, even when it came to the detriment of the team.

Wade didn't take a reduced role until 2012. He was injured and then saw (as did Spo) how great the offense looked with James running the show so that's when it was decided that Wade would take a backseat and voila... B2B titles. Spo gets credit but it took a Wade injury for him to figure out that LeBron should've been running the show the whole...

Teams are greater or less than the sum of their parts. Team dynamics are a tricky thing. The best result does not always come from the best players. It often comes from how players best fit together. Most front offices aren't smart enough to ever consider such a thing, let alone the people on this forum.

This was a phenomenon I noted about the Celtics last year and made a thread about.
When Brown Tatum and KP were on the court together, the team had a worse net rating than when any two of them were on the court and one was off.

Shaq's only good because the paint exists. Weird argument.
Curry's game in the 90s looks more like Reggie Miller's than what he does today. He'd need to rely more on screens than shooting off the dribble to avoid getting beat up. But that doesn't change his impact much. It's more team and system reliant but he's playing in an era where guys...

Wade was first team All NBA in 2010 before LeBron joined him. Then he had to take a reduced role to play with LeBron who is ball dominant.

What makes it a terrible narrative? How is this "terrible" narrative supposedly misleading? Does this conflict with the fact Curry led multiple teams to 67+ wins something KD never did (nor did LeBron for that matter) without Curry? Does it contradict the fact that when Curry and KD faced off in the playoffs Curry emerged victorious? Does it...

Steph has always been underrated and every excuse used to downplay his achievements while Magic has been the opposite where every excuse has been used to inflate his accomplishments.
For a long time and some people still do say that Durant was a better player than Steph. On the other hand you have Magic with Kareem with Magic getting the KD...

LeBron will retire before coming off the bench. He should come off the bench but it'll never happen.
Carmelo "who me?" Anthony didn't want to come off the bench and I guarantee his ego pales in comparison.
The most likely scenario is that LA once again flames out in the playoffs without making it to OKC and LeBron goes elsewhere next season.
