The Heat have reached the finals. Discuss Game 6 between Miami and Detroit, and what went wrong for the pistons

The Pistons just didn't have the intensity on either end of the floor that they had during the regular season

And the Heat got better each round

The healthy duo of Shaq and D-Wade happened.

heat played smart ball, shaq got many touches, and jwill played outta his mind. when the heat role players play well along with either wade/shaq, they are very hard to beat

pistons had their opportunities, but ive never seen players choke so hard. when heat were playing a 2-3 zone.. the pistons moved the ball well, but they missed almost every open shot. even though pistons got to the ecf... their run to me was QUITE unimpressive

Pretty much sums it up. Pistons just got beat by a better team this year, plain and simple. Heat's players all stepped up and simply overwhelmed them. They knew it too; they blew so many shots and even layups tonight, they just looked demoralized. When a team like the Pistons, who in the past three seasons have been running with swagger and a track record to back it up, looks like that on the floor it's over. Can't take anything away from the Pistons though, they've been one of the top teams in the league for the past three years and went out with class tonight.

Yes the heat were the better team and the pistons just didnt look as good as last year! (could be because of flip , age or loss of hunger)
there defence just wasnt there and against Wade and Shaq theres no point turning up if your not going to defend!

Mr. Shaquille O'neal - 28 points on 12 for 14 shooting, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks. : )

I want to see how Shaq would do VS the Suns in a 7 game series.

And Raja VS DWade would be a great match up

The Heat have been slowly but surely getting better each and every month since the AS break. You could say that Pistons played their worst stretch of basketball once the playoffs hit. Come to think about it you could say that the Pistons peaked too early in the season. The Heat were just a better team then the Pistons.

I'm more than glad the series was over in 6, not only because I made some money, but because of the Heat as well. It's good to have some changes in the finals, regarding the match ups, neither the Spurs or Pistons could make it this year.
Some say surprisingly.. not really, to me atleast.

Miami has a great group of talented players who pulled it together when it mattered the most. I attented a few Heat games earlier this season and I don't recognize these boys anymore. Hard to hate.

I hope they win, I'm going for them...If Wade has another series like this, I can see him stealing the MVP trophy.

Biggest surprise for the heat was toine IMO. He settled into that 3rd option role perfectly.

Is it not a fair assesment stating that if Shaq and Wade WERE infact healthy last year, they would have knocked off the Pissons last year as well?

Never piss of Shaq if you want to win the next game. Golden rule of NBA basketball.

When Pat Riley acquired Walker, Williams, and Posey, I defended him. I was all for it. The entire season, this team made me regret defending his offseason moves. This is the team I thought they would be.

I have one word for Flip Saunders and the Pistons. Bench. Get one.

Shooting, it just went poof after the first half of Game 2 in the semis. Unbelievable. They've been shooting sub 40% for 3 weeks now. Lucky to get this far shooting like that.

I would think Dirk will be able to do what 'Sheed couldn't; abuse Haslem, Walker, Posey all series.

White Chocolate was unconcious in GAME 6... stepped up BIGTIME.

Wade is crazy at the end of the third quarter he nailed like 5 shots in a row and pushed the Heat lead from 10 to 19.

Shaq dominated and the Pistons couldn't find the basket even with some wide open looks.

All that was a bad combonation for the Pistons.

If the Heat can continue to get production from their role players I just don't think anyone can match them. Cause you know what Wade and Shaq are gonna give you.

It's the current theme, everyone is stuck on the big trade rumor of shaq, so they decide to respond to old stuff.

Remember that Ben Wallace T-Mobile commercial from that year's playoffs?

I wonder if there is a T-Mobile/NBA player curse.
