I hate that place. I never worked there, but I've been inside it, I've inventoried it for another company and blah. The smell gets to you becuase they spray smelly **** around with fans on, they expect you to wear your clothes a certain way and look like a prick. And half the girls that work there are stuck up. That's just my experience at just one Hollister.

Really is that simple. And if you really hate it and can't pull one of them then all it means is that you quit earlier.

err..the Tee shirts at the Hollister I go to(I shop there sometimes), are usually around $17-$30 dollars a piece.
Never bought jeans at Holllister....I could easily buy jeans that look similar for $20-$30 dollars less.
and the shorts are mad expensive.

Ah, I know. But AE,Hollister, and A&F have pretty much all the same things. I don't feel like paying $30-40 bucks for a stupid shirt and I can't buy jeans there because they have stupid rips and holes in them. Drives me crazy.
Only place that I'd shop at that's like those stores is Aeropostale because they're wayyy cheaper.

Not my style. Not that I don't wear some designer clothing, but it's not THAT kind of clothing and I usually buy them at random stores (ie. Jean Machine, Boat House, etc.) that sell shirts you won't find anywhere else in my city (not those gay shirts with weird sayings and **** though). If I see something I like I'll buy it and if it happens to be really expensive so what. Or if I'm at my cottage I go to some of the surf shops and buy a few shirts.
Hippos gets compliments all the time on his shirts.
It's not how much a shirt costs that makes it gay or not, it's how it looks. American Eagle, Hollister, etc. is gay. Preppy ass ****.

Hollister... Not as good as abercrombie, but at least it aint the gap!
Take the job if u can fit it into ur schedule. If it does, take full advantage of the job and pick up a bunch of generic white girls and have sex with them.
Why cant you work at Hollister and go to college. You know PART TIME. Duh. Usually retail stores are good for college students. You spent $200 there, so getting a job means discounts. You'll surpass v-unit in the metrosexual department wearing stone wash jeans with cut out knees, a tight hollister t shirt with sandals...no socks. But dont fret, we dont know u got on sandals with no socks because ur jeans are bell bottoms and drag on the ground.

I just buy whatever. I never tried to fill in one of those "cliches" that would wear a certain style. I have a bunch of Ralph Lauren and Lacoste Polos, Zoo York tees, Ecko and Sean Paul clothing and some preppy stuff as well.
But I don't wear any jerseys anymore, maybe a soccer jersey, but methinks wearing Bball Jerseys or Football jerseys looks a bit weird.

I shop at Hollister, although I do feel kind of intimidated walking in there and punk rock music start playing and all these white ppl walking around, and you have posters of white male/female models, it's like they intended the store to be for whites only. Black stores have that same thing going too though, if you go to a black store, you are going to hear R&B, Hip Hop, and Rap music. I'm mixed, my parents are black/white, it's probably why I love Hollister. That shirt in my avatar, is a shirt from Hollister.

I remember getting an email from Abercombie since they were opening their first store in London and wanted me to work there. (being american was the main reason I guess) However, I hate Abercombie with a passion. Their clothes are low quality for the price, while also being unimaginative. I have never put my foot in an Abercombie and never will. Hollister I imagine is pretty much the same.

I will admit without any shame whatsoever that I own clothes from American Eagle, Hollister, and Abercrombie.
What I do not condone is the pre-faded/ripped jeans/shorts/whatever. If while wrestling alligators or doing something your pants happened to get ripped or faded, so be it, but buying clothes that are already like that is wiggity wack.
But then again, I'm one confused sumbitch, cuz I'll wear J's and have Miskeen jeans saggin with a Misfits shirt one day, and Force's with Akademikz jeans and a polo from Express or some **** the next. And then the day after that wear a R.I.P. (insert dead homie name here) shirt. :confusedshrug:

the deal is everyone knows hollister ect is for preps . you get those clothes then you're asking for the metro and gaay jokes, it comes with the clothes. people dont shop there just for the look of the clothes, they shop there because thats the idenity they want. its like that with all clothes though. you want to wear heavy metal/black shirts like hippos then you want to be known as guy that likes rock music and is a burn out. you want to wear white t shirts and jeans then you want to be known as a person that either dosent care about looks or is just lame.

I've often wondered why I wear the shirts I wear and I'd have to say it isn't because I want to be seen as a metal head. To me, this is what metal heads wear:
http://www.merch.com/images/sla.01.ahe-t.jpg
I for some reason like skulls on some of my shirts, but I don't want to be viewed as a metal head, nor do people I know say I look like one.
Only one of those shirts were black and it was a skater/surfer type t-shirt.

Metro? I thought metrosexuals were supposed to have a sense of style, instead of an obsession with a few stupid brands.
And heavy metal/black shirts? Where do you live? At least in california, those are the most common shirts that you can see anyone where. Maybe it comes with the skate/surf culture here but those are pretty much the standard at a place like nordstroms or tillys. Hippos is right, if you want a "heavy metal" look you'd wear some band shirt thats just a graphic on a bad quality black shirt.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the shirts hippos posted, they're perfectly normal, as I said, I see them all the time around here and I personally own shirts that are similar.
And  at hawker saying 40$ jeans are expensive.
I've never bought $40 jeans bro.

I have a cottage and I wake board and jet-ski heavily, yes.
As for skulls, not many of my shirts have skulls on them and I've been wearing ones that do for years so it's not a "follow the trend" thing for me.
We're thinking of getting a new Sea-Doo RXP X. The ones that go like 90 mph or something. lol or the Wake one.
k, I have a friend who wears those same type of shirts and is a wakeskater/wake boarder/skate boarder dude.

But dont fret, we dont know u got on sandals with no socks because ur jeans are bell bottoms and drag on the ground.
all metros raise hands, seperate fingers...1 stroke thru = *combing hair*
so i am bored and out of curiousity what could be so interesting about this hollister thread. Then i think wtf am i doing in this thread as i hit page 2 then i think wtf are you doing here....
i laughed at this though made it worth the 2 pages at least:roll:

the main problem i have with clothing stores is they generally require you to buy and wear their clothes while at work.
i understand they want people to see what the clothes look like on people but to me its the same thing as the mining operations in the late 1800s that would require workers to live in their towns, rent company homes and buy from company stores.
you'll lose a sizable chunk of your paycheck that goes right back to the store and thats just not right to me.
you'll have to buy stuff for each line so spring, summer, winter and fall you'll be buying new Hollister clothes.
its fine if you like them but if you just wanted some jeans a couple shirts well... SOL my friend.

i hate when i wear my ripped jeans and people are like "i could have MADE ripped jeans for more than you paid for those", for some reason people think that ripped abercrombie and hollister jeans are some crown jewel that's worth $100 a pair, i work at the outlet and they're all $20 . so don't gimme that BS about "you've never bought $40 jeans" because not all the jeans at a&f and hco cost $40 .

Well, some jeans don't cost $40 dollars at HCO....but the Jeans at A&F are bloody hell high. In fact, just about every item at A&F cost 2x more than Items at HCO.
Bought a Large hoody at Abercrombie and Fitch, and the total came around $79 dollars...plus tax. Basically payed around $80 dollars for the hoody.
