Iggy is a better defender, since Deron will have the ball in his hands most of the time a spot up shooter such as JJ is better than a PG/SG in Roy, Al Jefferson has a much better offensive game, Deron Williams is just flat out better than Davis, Chris Bosh is better defensively I think.

I'd take Rudy(gonna be a big time star, and Iggy looked suspect vs. Pistons last year), Jefferson( Horford is like antonio Davis) Johnson( Shoots that deep ball real well) Davis( if healthy) Gasol( if he's paired with a defensive minded center)

Rudy Gay may be a solid scorer (.1 pt more than Iggy), but he is a terrible defender and facilitator compared to Iggy. Yes Jefferson is better than Horford, but no way in hell is Horford like Antonio Davis (much better rebounder and defender. Just because Joe shoots the deep ball "really well" doesn't mean he is better than Roy who has nearly identical stats, but is 3 years younger and is a true team leader. Deron Williams is much younger and a better passer and equally good defender as Baron...And Bosh paired with a defensive minded center is just as good as Gasol paired with one...Only difference is Bosh is 4 years younger and a better defender +scorer.

Iggy averaged 13 pts on 33% shooting in playoffs including 14% from 3:roll: ....Rudy is much better off the dribble AND plays in the west AND is younger......When Antonio Davis played 30+ minutes/ game he was a 13, 9 and 1.5 guy and a GREAT help defender like Horford.....did you watch the last Olympic game?? Pau scored when he wanted

I'll take Horford over Big Al too. Jefferson is a center who can't play D. That sucks.

The last one is a tossup. I would rather have Gasol if the position that's needed is center, and I would rather have Bosh if you need a PF.

Pau dominates against a weaker defender. Pau can dominate using his finnesse but I like Bosh's altheticism over Paus skill set. Bosh defense> Pau defense.

 Why?

I have Williams/Roy/Bosh, which is plenty of offensive firepower.

I want strong post defense if Bosh is playing 4.

I mean realistically..

Horford over JEFFERON?

Horford is a 10/9 guy almost a 10/10.. 49%

Your meaning to tell me ur gonna take a 10/10 guy over a 21/11 guy. 50%.

Rudy Gay or Iguodala - Gay is more of a legit sized SF.
Brandon Roy or Joe Johnson - Roy is younger, and plays with more leadership and passion. This is a toss-up though.
Al Jefferson or Al Horford - Horford is nice, but Jefferson is 21 and 11.
Deron Williams or Baron Davis - younger, less injury prone, better.
Pau Gasol or Chris Bosh - Bosh is my brewmide. Can't choose some faggy Spaniard over my man Chris Bosh. Seriously, Bosh is just better than Pau.

Iverson or T-mac - So I can finally get Big Mac a First-Roundianship.
KG or Duncan - Best Center or Best Power Forward? I take the center.
Dirk or Amare - Battle of the stat-stuffing, non-defending PFs! Dirk has been psychologically scarred by Wade and Baron, and is older. Amare is a STUD, whose knees are in danger of shattering.
Kevin Durant or Greg Oden - um, Center or scrawny, chucking Tweener.
Josh Smith or Igoudala - same reason I take Gay ahead of Iggy.

Realistically, I'm building a starting 5, not basing things on statistics.

Horford is a better fit for my other 4 guys. I'd prefer to not have a terrible defensive player at the 5. Plus, my entire lineup is an excellent defensive unit, which I place much more emphasis on.

I don't think the point of this thread was necessarily a starting 5 but w/e. Saying Jefferson is a terrible defender is way off base. AL was defending out of position last season and still managed to save some face. Horford is not a good defender by any means and lacks the footwork to do so. Jefferson came into this league as a powerforward and should stay that way. Expect him to show his defensive worth next year with love defending the opponents bigger big man.

Well I made it like that since he gave us 2 choices for PG, G/F, and post players.

yea, and again I was basing it off the fact that it was going to be a starting 5. With Bosh at the 4, Jefferson would have to play the 5 like in Minnesota, where he is a very bad defender.

but still a better defender than Jefferson
