I really think its to be 1 better then Jordan, even though many will dispute that, even Kobe himself.

but i dont get it tho #23 is the goattest number in basketball is like the #9 or #10 in soccer

like you have to be a baller to rock #23 not a scrub

2. would have to be #3 with AI doing his thing and wade

3. #32 with Magic wearing and OJ wearing it since magic was his fav player growing up

He wanted to make room for the next great guard to wear number 8 .....................Deron Williams

Bryant began his career at Lower Merion wearing No. 24. In 1996 he had switched to No. 33, the number his father Joe "Jelly Bean" Bryant wore in high school.

He wanted to dominate all 24 seconds of the shot clock? That's one I used to hear of quite often

MJ selects No.9 for team USA and Kobe goes one up and picks 10. Jordan makes the No.23 famous, then Kobe decides he wants to be 24, again one number up from Jordan. Is he insinuating something? I wonder......

He knows his skill level is furthur from me, #24 is furthur from #1, he just happened to pick 24 to cover it up

12-14-2008, 09:36 AM
If he picked #26.25, you guys would still probably find a way to hate on the guy.

We've got to wait for him to retire and come back as #46

lol....

You really think kobe will retire and then make a comeback?

Anyway... From what I know it was that kobe wanted a change from the number 8. Get away from the shaq drama, the rape drama...

24 was to represent a new kobe era... the era in which kobe was "the man"

24 being symbolic for kobe to give it his all 24 seconds of the shot clock, 24 minutes a half, for 24 hours a day...

Idk... i heard something like that....

and that whole adidas owned 8 had something to do with it...

He chose 10 , cause it's the number of his soccer idols like Pele, Maradona, Zico and Ronaldinho.

I find it too ironic that he picks 24, ONE up on MJ, 10, ONE up on MJ. I will not get into an arguement about Bobe because of the amount of retarded laker fans on ISH so w/e.

I was just posting a fact. :ohwell:
