Reeding the 10 ten tweener thread made me think of this.

c: edit- Wes Unseld 6'7 bruiser. Would give this freak show team some defence

pf Barkley: a given

sf since dirk is a 4 and Yi and Bargs aren't there yet and both might end up as 4's anyway, I'll go with the original.... the pink panter Toni Kukoc. At 6'11 he was an anomally. On offence he was a matchup nightmare....on defence he was also often a matchup nightmare(for the bulls)

sg edit- T-mac at 6'9 more of a freak than Iverson

pg Magic, another given

what are some other anomalies out there?

T-Mac (Orlando) as a 6'9" SG. wasnt fair.

Pero Cameron is a PF. I've seen him play over 50 times. He is a power forward.

Kukoc never really had a position. He went between the 3 and the 4 and occasionally he played shooting guard, and very rarely played center and point guard. A "Fentard" if you will. I wouldn't strictly call Kukoc a small forward.

Usually when you play a freak at one position because they have an advantage there, they usually can be exploited with a disadvantage too.

E.g.
Nate Robinson at shooting guard.
+ Robinson is too fast for shooting guards
- Robinson, while being strong enough to guard NBA shooting guards, he lacks the height to contest shots (he sometimes counters it with his insane leaping ability)

So these guys may look great (usually on offense), they often struggle sticking to their position on defense:
-Magic Johnson
-Charles Barkley (often guarded small forwards when he was younger)
-Allen Iverson (guards point guards, and does it poorly)

At 6'7 Wes Unseld is probably the best "short" center thats played. (even in the shorter NBA of the 70's 6'7 was undersized at center). I know Unseld played some at pf but his best days were at center so that's what we'll take.

Still need an upgrade for kucok if possible...

I know it's not a upgrade over Unseld, but Ben Wallace has gotta get a mention here. The dude was 6'7, and won multiple DPOYs as a center. He even helped guarded Shaq when the Pistons won in 04.

You beat me to it, I was gonna put Big Ben on this list after Unseld, too.
