Out of all the great seasons Michael Jordan had I would have to say 1991 was his best year. Perfect display of athleticism, skill, technique and grace. He was also amazing in the that years Finals. He averaged over 30 Points, over 11 assists, and made 55% of his shots in the '91 Finals.

Well it was the 32/8/8 season in a strong era(1980s) that makes him the God of Basketball...

Why don't you watch some Lakers or Celtics games? Just 10-20 minutes ago the Lakers won in the closing minutes after a 3pt bomb...

Doesn't your life need some excitement in it?

If you take winning/accolades into account, then it's probably 1991 or 1996, with an edge to 1991 because he was simply a much more dominant player at that time.

1991:

Regular season: 31.5 pts/6.0 reb/5.5 ast/2.7 stl/1.0 blk/53.9% FG/60.5% TS/31.6 PER in just 37.0 mpg

Playoffs: 31.1 pts/6.4 reb/8.4 ast/2.4 stl/1.4 blk/52.4% FG/60.0% TS/32.0 PER

Finals: 31.2 pts/6.6 reb/11.4 ast/2.8 stl/1.4 blk/55.8% FG/61.2% TS/31.5 PER

What's most amazing is that he just kept getting better and better as the season and postseason progressed. He won the MVP, made the All-NBA first team and Defensive First Team, won the scoring title, finished third in DPOY voting, won the championship, and earned a Finals MVP while putting up historical, dominant numbers.

You will never see a season like this again, with this type of all-around dominance, from a perimeter player. In fact, the only other player since who's come close to amassing this type of resume in a single season was Shaq in 2000.

In terms of individual dominance, ignoring team success and accolades, I'd say 1988-1991.

It's not called living in the past it's called LOVE for the game, nimrod.

The **** you mean why does Nike make their prime living selling AF1 shoes and Air Maxes and Dunks? Huh?

Care to answer? Hundreds of million people across the world buying shoes designed 20 year ago?

Shut up with you insecurities. Everything is looking in the past. We all do it. Did you notice how many retro jerseys NBA teams have.

Why?

Oh I know, "seriously dude", they living in the past too.

If only you could show them the future. No, seriously, dude.

Show us the rule which says that only up to 2 history topics a week can be created. If such a rule is ever implemented, I'll leave this board without a second thought.

to answer the question

I would say 1991 because he had one of the lowest possession shares in his career and dominated the game, and was a winner

Had to quote this and bump the topic, because this is the very definition of dominance in every way -- offensively, defensively, individually, team-wise, and in terms of accolades.
