Now a days it is common for someone to live with HIV for a few years before it turns into AIDS.

When Freddy Mercury contracted it, he was probably told that he would die in a few months/years, and they were right. If he never got it and he got it now, he would live for a lot longer, back then they just couldn't control it, it was too new.

"cold sores" are just a polite way of saying herpes. there are different variations of it, but it's still a herpe virus nonetheless. just about any sore u get in your mouth is from a herpe virus.

What everyone is saying is that she has genital herpes (HS1), and the poster above said she has a cold sore (HS2). You're right that both are herpes, but the virus has two types. The poster above stated she has a cold sore (which we can all get from simply drinking out of someones' cup) versus genital herpes (which is received through sexual interactions).
