Thats not what happened. Amundson went down and Z-Bo stood over him talking trash. Admunson then got up and said some stuff to ZBo so Zbo threw a punch.

it just doesn't seem too bright to mess with a team that has Shaq in the vicinity...

i hope the Celts play the Suns in the finals, KG gets all pissy on the Suns, starts throwing cheap shots, and then Shaq shuts him up once and for all (physically)

He's not going to the D-League. But on a serious note, just because someone averages 20/10, it doesn't make them great. Zach was only shooting 43% as a Knick and he averages < 1 when it comes to steals and blocks per game. His 20/10 statline is overrated.

Me too. I seriously think every white player in the NBA is from Europe. It's seems like most American white kids are discouraged from taking basketball seriously at a young age.

I suspect most white parents either tell their kids they wont be tall enough or just say basketball is a sport for the black kids. I think most white kids get discouraged when they can't do their favorite AND1 tricks or playground dunks the first time they attempt it.

I also really think the first time many white kids get around the black kids and the little hippity-hoppity smack talk starts they **** their pants and never recover mentally. I don't care what anybody says, the players coming out of Europe are mentally tougher than the white kids in America 99% of the time.

Sue me and send me the bill. I don't care.

oh the horror
02-18-2009, 02:14 AM
Zach is part of that chunk of NBA players who just cant seem to get their attitude in check. Tempermental human beings, who dont play well with others, cant act right, and stay out of trouble. Its a damn shame, because a ton of them are talented. Zach HAS talent, but no direction, and no professionalism.

Check out what Snack Randolph had to say later:

Randolph knocked Amundson to the floor with his left elbow, then glared down at him. When Amundson stood to face Randolph, the Clippers forward threw a punch with his left hand and connected with a solid blow. He was immediately ejected.

"I'm not going to back down from anybody,'' Amundson said. "I don't care who you are in this league.''

Randolph said he was merely trying to push Amundson away.

"He hopped up and got in my face and almost kissed me in my mouth,'' Randolph said. "I just pushed him out of my face.

"If I would have hit him, he wouldn't have got up off the ground,'' said Randolph, who is almost certain to be suspended.

Said Amundson: "I was getting in his face, but I wasn't trying to kiss him.''

i think people forget that there is a difference between being prejudice against blacks, and being prejudiced against people who live the tough guy gangsta lifestyle.

i don't care if someone is black, white, asian, eskimo, whatever... if you reprezent da' hood, always have a gun, and talk like 3rd grade was just too much, it creates a whole different type of prejudice. and if you have all these qualities and are a multi-millionaire basketball player it makes it even more of a joke.

If you give him 2-5 games only you are sending a message that it's not that big a deal to punch a guy in the face during the game. Almost every player misses that kind of time every year for small injuries, deaths in the family etc. 2-5 games is nothing for a player, especially a guy on a team going nowhere.

Obvious and deliberate punches to the face, no matter how lame a punch it is (and let's face it, that's a lame punch) should be an automatic 10 games if not more. You have to send a message to the players that punching someone is 100% in inexcusable and intolerable and if you choose to do so, then you are going to serioulsy hurt your team.

In the heat of the moment, nobody is going to hold back or think twice if it only means a 2-3 game suspension, but beleive me, if everyone knows you are facing 10-20 games for a punch, that heated moment will cool down pretty quickly.

The worst part is it didn't come in a heated confrontation. I could understand if Steve Nash Swung on Horry after the body check: I'd still expect him to get punished, but it is a natural escalation.
But it's a differnt situation when Randolph instigates the conflict, taunts the opposing player, then sucker punches him for getting in his face...that kind of attack needs to be punished harshly.

It was a punch from a sucker...Anyone with any class knows you just don't punch a guy for doing his job on the basketball court.

Zach has no excuse for his actions. Some people might mention the hood but come one folks, it's not where you are from at this point in Zach's life, it's all about where he is going with his life.

Zach refuses to grow up and conduct himself with the class and dignity of an adult and a professional athlete. I am certain Lou didn't expect to be punched in the face because he is more intelligent then that nonsense. Louis knows now all too well NOW what a loser Zach Randolph really is.

.One last time that was a punch from a sucker and he deserves a lengthy suspension. That type of behavior has no place in basketball.

Ask anyone who comes from a urban environment and ask them to tell you if someone was to get face to face with them and it wasnt in a joking manner what they would do .Matter fact i got a better idea go to a basketball court and get right in someone face and see what they do.....

it isnt the whole getting in your face thing. its that zach instigated the whole thing. he pushed him down, he was yelling at louis while he was down and when louis got up, he immediately took a swing at him

You dont seem to get in zach mind if he didnt do something people he knew(not talking about his teammates)would probaly have made fun of him and on top of that (im not a racist but its the truth) he would of been made fun of even more because lou amundson is white and seems soft :confusedshrug: .So in a snap decision he kind of pushed/punched him out of his face.

More like Randolph just pushed his face, if he had really punched him, Amundson would've at least had a broken nose or cheek from one of Z-Bo's jabs

Z-Bo acting like a scumbag is par for the course. If someone told me he was runing a meth lab out of the snack bar I wouldn't be surprised.
Actually, I would expect if Randolph had a meth lab that it would include a snack bar.

lol. Yeah, turns out Zach was just a "victim" of an unfortunate muscle spasm. Dumbo Louis just got in the way at the wrong time.

I don't think it was a real punch......that was more like a "get the **** out of my face' shove to the face.

Clippers Coach Mike Dunleavy, while not condoning Randolph's action, gave some insight into his player's frame of mind. Apparently Randolph learned his father was critically ill shortly before the game in Phoenix.

"Obviously you don't want anybody doing that," Dunleavy said. "But he found out before the game, literally in the locker room before the game, about his dad.

"He was trying to figure out if he could play in last night's game, or tonight's game."

Randolph was able to get back to Indianapolis, which is where his father is hospitalized. He spoke on the telephone to Dunleavy and apologized after the suspension was handed down.

Doesn't excuse his actions, but I can see why he did it.

oh oh i see. so i guess like some other poster said in this thread its only a punch if it breaks a bone or gives a bruise? well then i guess carmelo never threw a punch either and so many other players didnt either:hammerhead:

Don't move, just put your face in the line of Zach's swing and see if you can still call it a push.
