How do you rank those 6 Centers in order from best to worst?

Also is it possible to say Hakeem was the best of them? I hear many say he was.

In what sense? Skill? Or accomplishments?

In terms of skill and performance:

1. Hakeem
2. Wilt
3. Kareem
4. Shaq
5. Moses
6. Russell

Shaq and Moses being interchangeable.

This is, of course, taking into consideration what each player did in their respective era. Had Wilt played now, he wouldn't average 50 and 24, but if we are talking about their performance in their respective eras, then this is my list.

For whatever it's worth, I met Cedric Maxwell at the Garden once as part of a "Meet the Legends" night they had for season ticket holders. Anyway, I asked him who the best player he ever played with or against was, and he said Kareem. He said Kareem is the greatest big man ever. This is obviuosly just one man's opinion, but he did play against Hakeem and Moses as well.

TmacsRockets, you are absolutely right that Bill Russell is overrated as hell. He'd really suck today and probably wouldn't be any better than Camby or someone like that.

You know what Wilt did in the playoffs? He WILTed under pressure! HAHAHA!!

Shaq > Quilt + Abdul-Jabbum

No single player has made other competition, in the best big man era of all time, look like absolute **** like Hakeem did. There has never been another big man with the same or even close to unbelievable footwork and basketball IQ that Hakeem possessed. It's a shame his prime was so short.

You saying that you're seeing some horrible lists, and then listing Kareem 2 below Moses is hilarious. Well done.

wilt gets punished for his gaudy stats. However the only way to rate a player is to rate them by individual categories and against their era. That is why wilt is number 1 and russell is number 6. Russell was just a part of the pie , wilt was the whole pie. Also Moses and Shaq are severely underrated. Shaq is unbelievably dominant.

Level 1 - Wilt Kareem

Level 1a - Hakeem Russell Shaq

Level 2 - Malone

Now that is getting close to my opinion...
Here is what i think:

Level 1: Wilt, Russell, Kareem, Hakeem, Shaq
Level 1b: Malone

On level1 you can make an arguement for all 5, as greatest C of all time:

Wilt: Best stat averages ever, MDE until his time.
Russell: Winningest C of all time, best defender ever.
Kareem: longest tenure high level domination, best stat totals ever, and the hook shot of course
Hakeem: most skilled C ever.
Shaq: Wilt part II., MDE, biggest freak of nature ever,

Moses could matchup well with all the others, but he is level B, because he doesn't have a case for GCOAT.

Wilt 5th and Kareem 3rd, with Hakeem being 1st? I'd like to hear some explanations for this (apart from the fact that Hakeem is one of your favorite players)...
