Alright this is for those who grew up in the 90s wasting handful of quarters each day after school. IMO, the top 10

Pac-Man: Overrated in my opinion but addicting nonetheless.

#9

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Awesome freaking game. To get the full effect you had to play two player. It made it so much more better. It would have been higher on the list because it was boring playing solo. Favorite character was Michaelangelo. Nunchucks FTW

#8

http://www.240.com.au/images/yNBA_Jam.png

NBA Jam: Without a doubt the GOAT arcade basketball game. The frantic button mashing, the ball on fire, the cheesy commentating, the insane comebacks. Oh man this game defined the perfect blend of basketball and entertainment.

#7

http://www.estarburst.com/images/silent_scope_sonegi_3_1.jpg

Silent Scope: Extremely underrated. It might not be a classic but it sure as hell will be. One of the few games you actually feel like a sniper.

#6

http://www.coolrom.com/screenshots/saturn/X-Men%20-%20Children%20of%20the%20Atom.gif

Xmen- Children of the Atom: Another underrated title. If it were not for the street fighters, mortal kombats or instinct this game is definitely one of the all time classics. It was perfect in a sense to street fighter, but just x-men themed.

#5

http://www.arcade-museum.com/images/11/118124212729.jpg

Jurassic Park: This one is a legit classic. No arcade is complete without this one. I remember being scared **** less when playing this game when I was young.

#4

http://www.bossyman15.com/gallery/Video%20Arcade/Star%20Wars%20Arcade.JPG

Star Wars Trilogy: The GOAT star wars game of all time including console. You just had to play the game to know what I am talking about. I have never felt a more authentic star wars experience. You can actually control the light saber the way it was meant to be controlled.

#3

http://www.yogiscyberhub.com/images/screens/houseofthedead_big.jpg

The House of the Dead: Again, no arcade would be complete without this one. GOAT arcade shooter bar none.

#2

http://www.fraserking.co.uk/arcade/screenshots/double-dragon-2.png

Double Dragon: The game that made the beat em up generation. They don't make em like this anymore. Like ninja turtles it was best when co-op'ed.

http://www.virginmedia.com/images/street-fighter-2.jpg

Street Fighter 2: Revolutionary, amazing, fluid, balance, replayability, etc. You just can't stop describing this game. Even if I had spent 200 dollars worth of quarters I would go back and do it again 3 times over. The GOAT arcade game and one of the great memories of my childhood.

Pac Man and Double Dragon are not 90's, but I agree with everything except Jurrasic Park. Virtua Fighter has to be added along with X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Rush, Dragon Fighter, and Cruisin', Daytona USA. The 80's would be a whole different story.

all those multiplayer team adventure quest games were amazing, Golden Axe, Gauntlet, Ninja Turtles, there was some X-men or other comic book heroes games like that, river city ransom style. Used to have birthday parties at arcades and play those games til we beat them.

always loved terminator 2

http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~pjan/destructoid/michaeljackson/t2.jpg

and i remember some awesome castlevania style platformer at the arcades too, but i'm not sure if this is it

http://themongomania.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/hauntedcabinet.jpg

searching for that game though i found there's a new castlevania arcade game out in japan that uses what looks like a wii remote to create a light gun - whip dynamic. this should come out on wii if they know what's good for em. looks pretty sweet, and a helluva lot better than the castlevania fighting game they just released for it:

I second Dragon's Lair.

I'd add the sit down Spy Hunter, which was one of the earliest 50 cent games. And Mortal Combat, which I never particularly liked, was a phenomonen like I don't think I ever saw before or after.

Wow most people seemed to skip Mortal Kombat for the most part except a couple, which was top 5 for me. It was the main competitor of Street Fighter 2 at the time.

Damn, this thread put back some memories as a kid. A couple of years ago, a friend ended up hiring a bunch of old arcade machines for his birthday. We spent the entire night getting drunk and playing Ninja Turtles, NBA Jam and Mortal Kombat 2.
