50 cent is one of the most successful rappers in the game. He's filthy rich and it extends far beyond just making music. Whether his music is wack, corny, lame. It sells. I'm not sure about his album sales since his Get Rich or Die Trying album. Probably not spectacular but I'm sure it sold units and even moreso compared to albums people love. Dude gets money.

How to Rob was nothing more than a joke song. I dont think he started many "beefs" out of it. Jarule is more personal/street stuff than rap beef. Most of the incidents 50 either provokes or defends himself. Cant really say all the blame is on him. I dont think it makes him successful or make money. Unless someone shows me how it does. So honestly, is he really THAT great of a businessman?

Kind of a different situation from Jay and Nas. In most people's top 5 D.O.A. Two lyrical heavyweights. None of Ross' songs have been 1/10 as effective as Ether has. Nor did Jay need the battle with Nas to help dig him out of the abyss that 50 is in as far as mediocrity goes. This battle has had a really silly, Ill out point your flaws battle since the beginning. When Jay said that he did Carmen people were left baffled because we had been waiting for that lyrical pure hip hop battle for a whille. He recovered from it of course. But he lost that battle.

i would never ask 50 to manage my music career, but i wouldn't mind him being an executive producer on an album - helping me choose beats, write a hook here and there, help market the album, etc. 50 still has it in that sense. but how many hit singles can you really expect from lloyd banks and tony yayo? the fact that they even had each is amazing. or how about an over the hill mobb deep? they haven't been hot since 'amerikaz nightmare' imo, and even then prodigy sounded lazy as hell. how about M.O.P, who has never had big hits anyway? 50 has made some terrible signings, but most artists usually do at first. i'd give him another year or two before i can write him off completely.

Good point. And obviously I wasn't insinuating that 50 and Ross were even on the same planet as Jay and Nas lyrically. Both these guys are terrible artists. I saw 50 in concert about 6 years ago, and he was possibly the worst live MC I've ever seen.

Rap / Hip Hop in general is a joke right now. I was huge into Rap / HH scene in HS and College (even had my own crew 'Organix' that did shows with groups like Living Legends and The CUF)... but the entire industry (even underground) has fallen hard.

Cam's style doesnt deliver enough hard jabs for him to have a win. Camron is crazy, he thinks he "bodied" Nas. 50 doesnt have the lyrical talent to put anyone away. But this is my point. We basicaly feel the same way about this.

1. Jay vs. Prodigy - Yes, Jay showed pics of young P, but he also had the track to back it up. The Takeover would've murdered him regardless of the picture. Hell, I heard the track way before seeing the pic.

2. Cam vs 50 - Okay, maybe "slayed" him is going a little far. I have said in this thread that Cam is like the wackest ever IMO, but the day he recorded Curtis, he went in on 50. Like I said, on the MIC. All the other $hit 50 did in response (kinda like this ross porno crap) is just dumb. Like you said, he can't battle on wax so he resorts to bull$hit tactics. Some eat it up, some see it for what it is.

3. Ja vs 50 - See, Ja was wack to begin with so 50 knew he could win this one. Funny thing is people still followed this dude without paying close attention to the bs tactics. 50 clowns Ja for "singing". Ja falls of face of the Earth. Every 50 track features him singing. I know there was more to the beef but that just always stands out to me.

4. Jada vs. 50 - I don't agree with you on this. Why does someone have to die (BIG/Pac) or have thier career ended (Ja Rule) for there to be a winner. If 2 guys go at each other, one has to win. i would never ask 50 to manage my music career, but i wouldn't mind him being an executive producer on an album - helping me choose beats, write a hook here and there, help market the album, etc. 50 still has it in that sense. but how many hit singles can you really expect from lloyd banks and tony yayo? the fact that they even had each is amazing. or how about an over the hill mobb deep? they haven't been hot since 'amerikaz nightmare' imo, and even then prodigy sounded lazy as hell. how about M.O.P, who has never had big hits anyway? 50 has made some terrible signings, but most artists usually do at first. i'd give him another year or two before i can write him off completely.
