ive been wondering this for a bit

i assume mj is fairly high on the list. Magics a succesful buisnessman though, hes gotta be up there 2. Lebrons gotta have a lot of money, although hes noway near done

anybody know for fact whos the all time richest?

With all his endorsements for that many years, plus the fact that he's making money after he's retired, Jordan has to be the richest I would assume.

Yao pays 50% of his paycheck in US Taxes, then pays 50% of what's left to China. I doubt that leaves him with the most of any NBA player.

The richest ones by far are the ones who are big enough superstars to get major endorsement deals (Lebron, Shaq, Wade, Jordan, etc). Those endorsement contracts probably get them more money than their NBA salaries. Kobe probably screwed himself out of tens of millions by having that affair, even if he didn't rape the girl. The memory of that scandal makes him much less marketable.

It's also interesting that some of the best vintage players (Magic, Bird, KAJ) earned less on their careers than guys like Robert Whorey, since NBA salaries started sky-rocketing in the early-mid 90s.

LeBron was almost the most paid NBA player when he was still on his rookie contract. I think he's richer than Yao. But not Kobe/Shaq. Not yet.

Magic is the richest NBA player ever. Jordan made a lot of money and the end of this NBA career and endorsements, nothing compared to what KG or Shaq were making through the course of their careers. Jordan lost a lot of money because he spends like crazy and his divorce. Lebron is the only player in the L right now that has a chance to overtake Magic if he mananges his money right.

Your calculations are wrong.

Let's say Yao makes 20 million a year.

He would pay ~50% in US taxes, leaving him with 10 million.

Yao would then pay ~50% of that 10 million to China, or 5 million.

That would leave Yao with 5 million out of the 20 million earned, or ~25%.

That will come when Nike extends his endorsement contract.

MJ had a lot, but also didn't have the most important thing for a rich man: a prenup.

It was 90 mill
edit - Kobe Jnr posted it right before I did

NBA salaries have gone up over the years and players get more money for doing commercials.. Magic made $46,199,290 in NBA salary (endorcements not included), compared to Shaq's $251,614,005. Both have played in commercials and made (still make) money doing other things.. I know Magic is a co-owner of the lakers, but I still doubt that he's richer than Shaq :confusedshrug:

MJ has the clothing/shoe brand so eventhough he made a not so whopping (in NBA terms :oldlol: ) $93,772,500, he might still be the richest..

KG career earnings total:

210.2 Million without endorsements

Shaq

252 Mil

Iverson, and most other older stars are around 130 mil max. Of course, endorsements, investments, gambling, spending, ex wifes, child support, moochers, etc. are factors unkown.

Jordan probably because of Endorsements....he made 63 million in his last two years as a Bull but no more than like 3 mill/yr before that, a result of the Garnett deal obviously.

One month before the Draft, he signed a $90 million contract with Nike over seven years, including a $10 million signing bonus. He also signed a $6 million contract over 5 years with Upper Deck, a $5 million deal to endorse Bubblicious bubble gum for 4 years and Sprite and Powerade gave him $12 million for 6 years.

Without playing a single minute in the NBA :wtf:

yeah shaq's monthly expenses was over 800k, thats ridiculous. how can you spend 800k a month? that would be alot to spend in a year. he spend something like 100k a month in family vacations, aight so shaq plays ball more then half the year, his kids gotta go to school, what kinda vacations are they taking every month. i heard somewhere that iverson take care so many people and throw his money away on so much bs that he lives paycheck to paycheck.

it pisses me off how much women get after theese divorce proceedings. Especially if they dont have any kids.

if they do have kids then fair enough, a very good standard of living, a fair bit above the national average, private school, thats fine. but some of theese sums are ridiculous. *****es can hire a nanny for life and sit on their ass living lavish for the rest of their days.

if they dont have kids its equal rights and all nowadays. get a ****ing job love

Magic Johnson, not even close...

Do some digging in the internet, and it is estimated that his net worth is anywhere from $700+ to $900+ million (Michael Jordan is estimated to be about 400-500 million). This is not from his NBA salary, but his Magic Johnson Enterprises and related investments.

100 Wealthiest Black People in America

In terms of net worth, Jordan and Magic got that one on lock.....both are over 200 million.

KG has made over 250 million in his career, but who knows how much of that has been spent. Shaq is right there with KG as well. Both of those guys are right at or over 100 million. Kobe has a good amount as well but he's not with KG or Shaq....well maybe im not sure on that one actually ha

The way things have been going for Lebron, he could easily surpass both KG and Shaq and head towards Magic and MJ status. Get internationally known, secure stupid big contracts and edorsements and eventually get a long term 150-200 million dollar deal (idk on the amount, just speculating....)
