When I was back in high school, all the kids were sporting these brands. Now, it seems like they have completely died off. Real baggy clothing was the style. I work in the schools, and it's just weird to see how the times have changed. Slim fit jeans for guys are popular, as well as anything that comes pre-ripped. Girls don't wear the jeans that flare out anymore. The shoes are different as well. I remember the nike's with the air bubbles along the sides being really popular. Don't see those as much anymore.
Makes me feel old. The times and styles have completely changed :lol

We still keeping it gangsta down in cali. But yeah ive seen the style youre talking about.
Dressing like a G' is not longer a trend, so that's why you don't see it anymore.

Hilfiger still has chains across North America. Just like any brands when they get blown up and every closet has them. Nobody wants them because they want to be "original".
same thing that's happened to Von Dutch trucker hats and will happen to Ed Hardy, Smet, Christian Audigier today.
I buy clothes now at HM for me and my boy. Clothes are cheap and current. Only thing I'll drop more than a bill on is my kicks, which I always get a discount on.

Yeah, that's another one. Those were real big around 2004. I remember I was down in Florida and I really wanted to buy one, but they were over $100.

I never understand the point of wearing clothes that are 2x your size. Whats wrong with wearing clothes that fit you perfectly? The saddest thing to see is when a white or asian guy dressing like that, I mean, wth dudes.

People still wear the first three, nothing happened to them. And i'm wondering how you can possibly not know Ralph Lauren was still around. It sounds like you live under a rock.
The last 3 died out and with good reason. I havent seen anyone with Jinco on since the mid 90's. And Fubu was laughed out of style long ago.

I live in Pittsburgh, where "high fashion" consists of people wearing Steelers jerseys, no matter the time/place, so you are probably right :lol
OK, so maybe Ralph Lauren is still popular. I just don't see it as much anymore. I do see the shirts with the small polo logo on them, but not so much the ones with the extravagant labels.

ralph lauren and nautica are still good brands. fubu and jnco though, hell no. like hito said, you could fit a redwood tree trunk through a 36" waist pantleg. the whole dragon design things on them were pretty tacky too.

RL is still one of the more popular clothing lines no questions asked. In fact, it's pretty much 95% of my wardrobe. You can never go wrong with Polo. In the last few years they've experimented a bit too much with their clothing line... I was a little turned off by the "Big Pony" at first... but some of them don't look that bad actually... their website is elite too... I've had a lot of custom shirts made and then mailed to me.

Polo looks too posh for my liking. My top brands are "true love and false idols" and "Monarchy" although they are very expensive I like the design.

I was hoping I wasnt the only one who endured that phase. I dread looking at old pics from when I was a kid because of some of the outrageous sh** my parents would allow me to wear. I even had a mullet in the 80s (Luckily no pictures Ive come across yet), then I went to the oh so cool side spike...About the only hair style I never did was the shaved head with the long bangs, unless you count when people would put their hair up then shave around underneath the long hair on top...Yeah, I admit I did that too.

yeah, izod was originally Izod Lacoste. then they split and lacoste got to keep the gator logo and they jacked up their prices. izod went to some crest logo and now provides more moderately priced clothing.

I think Hilfiger died down because of the racist stuff that was coming out. Didn't he say back in the day he didn't want black people wearing his clothes? After that you saw a lot of the street stuff coming out like Echo, FUBU etc.

He never said that. Someone started a chainmail about him being on Oprah but it never actually happened.
I feel sorry for the dude because people still believe it.

Nautica, ralph Lauren. was the shi t when I was in HS. Especially the wind breakers, and the collar shirts. Baggy Eddie Bauer khaks with K swiss sneakers. Also Stater jacket pullovers were popular, especially the college ones. Fighting Irish and Hoyas were the ones I have. When It got to small I cut out the logo and put it in my room. Still have it.
Haley Hansen was also cool
*** the tight shi t kids wear these days.
