whatever happened to virtual reality? when i was a kid the video rental place had a virtual reality game in their store for a couple weeks
and you could go in and play. the graphics were extremely simple but it was the start of some next level sh*t.
when i google (re)search virtual reality i don't see any signs of that technology going anywhere. did they just decide
there's no market for it because the machines are too big? can they just not get the tech down?

I am definitely anticipating this game. I loved Diablo I and II, Starcraft, WoW, Warcraft..... hell I love pretty much all of Blizzards games. Best computer game company hands down imo.

Correct. Blizzard, in concert with retailers like gamestop, have been jerking around the consumer over the release date of sc2. GS, has accepted pre-orders on sc2 since December. What the hell? In December when sc2 wasn't even in beta. All bc blizz was too stubborn to move off of an unrealistic projected release date.

Still, there has to be a good deal of people who have sunk 60$ into a pre-order to reserve a copy of the game. As far as video games are concerned, I really can't understand that. As the consumer, you're allowing the retailer to borrow your money -- interest free -- for month(s) at a time when video game software isn't scarce or limited in quantity. Aside from Street Fighter 2's release on the Snes, and the wii console, I can't remember a video game that took any extra effort to acquire. (exception: imports/regional exclusives)

I wasn't planning on getting this but I went to my mates today to check it out and it was a lot of fun. Playing it by yourself would get repetitive but playing with mates is awesome. We have 10+ people playing so it should be good.

Meh...I'll probably get it but I think they ruined D2's originality. Looks more like WC to me now. I actually started playing d2 for a while to try to get into diablo again to play d3 when it came out. But then I saw it looked like war craft and it turned me off. Then I got bored of d2 again :roll:.

lol just read the reviews on this...man i'm glad i didn't preorder. graphics went cartoony and not dark anymore, supposedly theres stuttering on every attack or it could be just some peoples PC's, you can't pick new skills apparently from what i gather its automated?(:facepalm ), and its supposedly the same as the other Diablos without anything improved in gameplay. you can now legally sell gold/items altho i don't play it online i don't care...

other stuff that isn't a big deal to me but others is you have to have a online connection to even play single player(i play on steam where they require it anyways so no big deal), and it has DRM which i know a lot of people hate.

damn Blizzard finally screwed up for once...its getting real low player scores everywhere.

It's a good game, the new skill system is actually pretty good and lets you experiment with different builds as you level. The only time I couldn't get on was for a little while on launch day. Other than that the game runs flawlessly for me on max settings and my PC is about 2 years old.

Will I play it as much as I played Diablo 2? Probably not, but I'm not in my twenties anymore either. I can't see ever playing any game as much as I played Diablo 2.

meh, most developers complain about how relative unprofitable it is to develop PC games, MMO non withstanding.

genres like rts will always thrive on the pc, and new technology/engines will probably be unveiled on the pc first, usually as a fps, but really outside of a few genres pc gaming is becoming pretty barren.

How is it a wow clone? It's not an MMO, its an instanced game world where you can have a few friends play too, just like Diablo 2. It has no subscription fee. It uses a point and click interface instead of WASD controls like an MMO would. Has a isometric viewpoint instead of over-the-shoulder third person. The combat is action/strategy based, not turn based like an MMO. You can only have six skills max active and usable at one time, as opposed to 20+ like most MMOs.
