Plus, I really dont think rick Perry is contemplating but it's just the citizens doing so.
If it gets citizens aware of how then I really dont care. Anyways, texans have a right to complain as being the most successful state in the nation.

Just caught some of the teabag coverage on TV (ie. redneck gathering) and the right wing fringe is actually scary.
These zombies are protesting higher taxes when their taxes are getting cut.
They are against bailouts (which are necessary) but the GOP President proposed and started them.
They are against spending but the GOP President is the one who went to an unnecessary war and spent an insane amount of money.
They want freedom but it was the GOP President who made it legal to listen in on their phone calls.
Seriously, what is going on with these crazies? Never mind the racist undertones of some of these signs that were being paraded today, the fact that some of them are just disturbing (in the video below a guy with a flag where a chopped off right arm is holding a bloody sword because he fears tyranny, this whole sentiment of "government is coming to steal my guns"). I mean this is actually getting insane. The fact that a whole news network was promoting this makes this even sadder.

Economists around the globe have already predicted the seperation of the United States. It's not far fetched to consider that certain states will want to become their own Countries if it is in their best interest. The main issue will be establishing a standing Army that could defy the US Military. Probably not that hard considering most of our Military is deployed overseas, and our National Gaurd is a joke that can't even secure our own borders.

I completely agree with you on this on the complaining. They have been people that have seen the light though and I'm quick criticize people who complain about things about Obama when they supported Bush as well.
Some of those people might be wealthy enough to where their taxes would be cut. They would have a point to complain.
To me, it's about principle. I disagree with the principle. I may not ever be able to reach that amount of money to where I'm taxed 40% or whatever it may be but I can still and will disagree with it based on principle.

Obama's 3.5 trillon spending budget for next year is insane. That might be more than Bush spent. I'm not sure, but it's ridiculous either way.
They want freedom but it was the GOP President who made it legal to listen in on their phone calls.
No comment on this, because I have always been against the Patriot act, and I think most republicans only supported it because it was Bush's idea.

LOL at bailouts are not necessary. Who needs banks right? It's not like every business and family depends on them. Those paycheques you are getting are coming from a line of credit from your company's banks. That house/car you want to buy is going to be financed by a bank. Trade and business would collapse under these conditions.
Yea, letting Lehman go under was such a great decision right? It triggered a credit freeze across the world and you want to let multiple large institutions that are interconnected go under? You are insane.

I'd rather that happen then to give away billions of tax payers dollars to corporations who failed. That's not capitalism at all. The economy is going to have to crash before it can repair itself and the more money we give away to try to fix the economy the worse the crash will be. Throwing money into the economy doesn't fix anything. It prolonged the great depression and it's making our situation worse now.

Karl Marx predicted this over 100 years ago. A Capitalist-Democracy will eventually transform into a Socialist regime to avoid a revolution. During that transformation, it is possible (and likely) that certain demographics will wish to form their own Governments / Unions. When dealing with a landmass the size of Russia (USSR) or United States, it becomes even more likely that specific regions will see benefits (resources) in seperating from the collective Nation.
The real question is; how does Texas benefit from being part of the United States? Protection from Bin Laden? :oldlol:
The US certainly doesn't do a good job of protecting Texas's borders.

DUH. obviously we need banks. But fractional reserve banking is as good as fraud. They literally preach money manipulation. And what does the United States do? They REWARD THIS SCUMBAGS and PUNISH the everyday hard working americans.
These bailouts are only re inflating the bubble. and when it bursts again, it might even be greater than the great depression.

That's why communist Russia/Eastern Europe, China are or already have slowly moved towards a more capitalist system right? US has been through much harder times and this was something that was actually being said during the Depression that "capitalism is losing etc etc" and from that period emerged the mixed market economy (private enterprise + government oversight) that has been the best performing economic system in the last century.
You are saying some really outlandish things right now and I'll try to do my best to ignore you.

But it's not the first time Texas has tried to stick it to the U.S. for not pulling their weight.
Texas is getting 17 billion in bailout money, had FEMA come over and gets back 88 cents of every tax dollar (as opposed to a state like Minnesota that is receiving 46). Everything you say is wrong. It's like an uncanny knack.
And this **** about securing the border? Mexicans have been crossing over long before Obama got in office. What, they just noticed? Did Bush secure the border and we just didn't know?
Don't pull a starface and generalize an entire party because of an individuals actions.
Most of the leaders of the Republican Party joined in to yesterday's nationwide teabagging, which was a protest organized to protest taxes, or bailouts, or whatever it is that has them so upset (I'm not totally sure, and they aren't either). There are some intelligent, well-meaning Republicans out there but they aren't in charge of the Party. No, the Republican Party is busy trying to dump Lipton into the river. They're so clueless, so directionless, so pointless that the Chicago teabaggers actually told the Party Chairman that they didn't want him there. This wave of insanity is the closest thing that the Right has to a movement. Having lost the American center they are now completely catering to the fringe elements. Here's a challenge for you: Find a picture from one of those teabaggings that has one non-white person in it. Nothing against white people, I'm related to a number of them myself, but they have become the party of uneducated white people that don't live in the northeastern US. And they clearly have no clue or idea how to win over anyone else. These idiots don't even know what the original Tea Party truly meant. They follow Glenn Beck to the Alamo of all places because he tells their stupid asses that it makes sense to hold the protest there not realizing that it was the BOSTON Tea Party. Of course, we wouldn't give a damn about a teabagging to protest nothing in particular, but their lack of a sense of history is part of their overall overwhelming ignorance. He actually won't do it, but I personally wish that Obama WOULD take these people's guns away, because stupid people with imagined grievances are a danger that ought be dealt with.

04-16-2009, 09:39 AM
the thing that is most disturbing to me right now is the fact that republicans are seemingly soo dishonest and desperate at this time that they play this extremely destructive game...
the tea parties and some of the other stuff they have been doing is nothing more than a cheap co-op of the things that libertarians have been doing for years...
these protests werent fueled by ignorance and hatred originally.... they were fueled by knowledge and honest objection to situations that warranted true change
Now you got the republicans (who just got finished sinking us into this problem) having the nerve to lead a revolt against the problem they exacerbated.....
and people are dumb enough to play along :hammerhead:
doesnt give you much hope for the future when Americans are soo gullible and soo shortsighted..

I said this before on ISH (or at least on the internet) but I swear that no country in the world hates itself more than USA. I don't even get why people are contemplating the idea of secession or staying in said place if it happens, it's like if Cornwall decided to secceed from the UK lol it would be a disaster (for Cornwall anyway).

The words of ole Abe Lincoln still ring true:

"...we cannot separate...A husband and wife may be divorced, and go out of the presence and beyond the reach of each other; but the different parts of our country cannot do this. They cannot but remain face to face, and intercourse, either amicable or hostile, must continue between them...Suppose you go to war, you cannot fight always; and when , after much loss on both sides and no gain on either, you cease fighting, the identical old questions as to terms of intercourse are again upon you."

I like the sexual imagery especially considering he said this in 1861.

For the record, the secession talk isn't worth taking seriously. It's just pandering to the lunatic fringe that has come to dominate the Republican Party in the Obama era. The legal hurdles they'd have to overcome to actually break off are massive, not to mention that most Texans probably think it's a stupid idea.

We've always had crazy politicians, and so do other countries. What really hurts us when it comes to world perception is:
1. We crusade around the world against nukes while hording more than anyone.
2. We have fought environmental regulation to death in the past...Obama may change that, we'll see.
3. Epitomized by the last President, certain segments of our population wear their ignorance like a badge of honor.
4. Our financial system is widely believed to be at the root of the world's problems.
Compared to these 4 issues, Perry's idiocy is nothing.

Dyke sympathizer. Seriously, I'm the only one that brought her into the picture here cause she is so far off base it's not even funny. She may be smart, but she's a pundit with a cause and it's obviously so far to the left that she perverts the view people have of the media. She may openly question the Dems, but she doesn't give the same opportunity to Republicans. Her show is an avenue to Republican bashing and Right-wing media bashing while not allowing her viewers to form their own objective opinion. Of course the majority of you will not agree, but take the time to sit down and watch her show versus O'Reilly, or Beck and tell me how many times either one attacks the other channel or party. Maddow will win that battle hands down. She's a vicious and vile creature.

Do me a favor, watch O'Reilly and Beck, cause you obviously have no clue what you're talking about and you'll see that they rarely bring up MSNBC or anyone of their anchors on their shows. But you turn on Maddow or that nutcase Olbermann and his "Worst Person in America" segment and Bill O'Reilly is always mentioned. How classless is that news organization??
lol does that count as an oxymoron?
seriously dude, the New York Times doesn't need an advertising department anymore because those clowns can't stop bringing them up.
they bring up MSNBC a lot, and now Beck has a hard on for Colbert, a comedian for crisesakes.
It is ok to have rightist views, just don't defend the clowns who pollute the airways with their self-aggrandizing BS.
