Coming into this game, the Nuggets lead the series 3-1.

New Orleans at Denver, 10:30 p.m. ET -- The AP reports: Take it from the man who just won the NBA

The nuggets have put no effort into this series aside from the occasional flagrant foul. Is there a mercy rule for series?

Go Nugs!

Well, seeing how this is at home and seeing how there has been no signs of life in the first 2 games at home from NO, I have to think that tonight will be the night that Denver gets out of the first round.

this series reminds me a lot about the nuggets-clippers series from 2006.

clippers win games 1/2 at home (although much closer than our games vs the hornets). we come back and win game 3 at home trying to make it a series again but blow game 4 at home by 14. then we lose game 5 at LA and its over.

After winning by 58 on the road, if the Nuggets lose at home, I will be very disappointed.

Yeah, Melo has surpassed Wade because of his performances against an injured PEJA.

PEJA.

Get real.

If Wade was checked by Peja, he'd average 50 points a game.

umm...no...

wait...

yea...just no.

Melo has played better than ever of course. Slowly turning into a leader, setting up his teammates AMAZINGLY and most importantly really really getting after it defensively.

Thing is, Lebron and Wade already do these things, have done them for longer, and do them a bit better.

Melo's stock has risen so far, but he isn't at Lebron and Wade's level.

Don't count the Hornets out just yet. They obviously played their worst game Monday night, however, to take away what CP3 said, it's still just 1 game. This series isn't over, not just yet and being now in a situation of either win or go home, look for the Hornets, especially Chris Paul, to come out strong right from the get go and try desperately to send this series back to New Orleans. With that said, Nuggets should still be able to close this series out tonight...err I hope.

That has been a problem for the hornets for a few years now. Since CP handles the ball, and they don't have anybody else who can, the mentality is to get the ball in his hands ASAP after rebounds and in-bounds, and the passers for the hornets are so stupid they never pay attention to the situation and just pass it. There have been a ton of TOV's from passers not looking before they send a pass to CP.

Paul still doesn't take on the mentality to score when it's needed. Plus he's been injured this series. But he's still the best PG in the game because he literally has to do everything for this team and has done more than any other PG of the last few years.

Deron still has a flaw in that sometimes he is to unselfish. He knows when to take over games when his shot is on but when its not he tends to get passive and not drive to the hoop. He'll get better at it. I also would take him over Paul.

The emergence of Chris Andersen this year into one of the best help defenders in the NBA and energy players, along with the Billups trade and the emergence of JR Smith as arguably the best 6th man in the league the Nuggets may just be a title threat. can the Nuggets and Dallas play first before you make statements like this

excuse me for getting ahead of myself, i was just predicting that denver would advance to the WCF which is just my personal opinion which may not amont to much in these boards full of NBA professional analysts and consultants:D

the WCF right?.....
How many years ago? Deron has only gotten better. He is a better player, has a more talented team, has a better coach, plays in an easier division, and yet his superior scoring mentality hasn't elevated his team more. So how does that make him the better player than Paul if that mentality doesn't have a bigger impact?

WE DID IT!!

Finally!

I'm so proud of them but we still got some work to do. At least we shed that first round rain cloud over our head.

Melo (and JR) both played fantastic!

This team is hitting on both sides of the ball. They could give the Lake show a challenge in the WCF, especially if Houston wears them down with some physical play.

BTW, that alley oop dunk was sick from Birdman.

Dirk Nowitzki style of play is going to negate K-Mart's natural strengths.

Well it will, you little ****. I don't know why you're rolling your eyes at the statement. If K Mart is scheduled to guard Shook Ones #41, he's going to have a problem. Dirk will pull him so far away from the low block, K Marts strengths for this team (I.E. interior defense, rebounding, shot blocking) will be negated.

have you seen K-Mart play?? you're a fool if you think he can only guard players down-low. Thats why we were forced to put him on Kobe last year, cuz we had no player better to do it. K-Mart is a good on-ball defender and will have a hand in Dirk's face the majority of the time. Thats all you can ask of your player, we just goota hope Dirk doesnt get a groove to soon and hit every fade-away jumper he takes. Step up ur knowledge guy.

One of the reasons why he was limiting West was his ability to close out when West was looking to shoot. He wasn't getting good looks and that's why up until tonight he was shooting 38%. I don't expect Martin to suddenly lose his speed and athleticism. If Bowen can limit Dirk, so can Martin.

we saw how that worked out...he was so far away from the basket their rebounding and rotations struggled plus Kobe figured him out and exploited him

Dirk's range seperates him to David West quite a bit. Not to mention Dirk is a legit all star talen, and David West clearly isn't. Dirk can drag K Mart further and further away from the basket.

Yeah, I don't know why they are using that as an example. K Mart got destroyed. That was one of Kobe's top three performances in the Playoffs for his ENTIRE career.

how bout the fact that the whole team was horrible defensively?? It also wasnt just K-Mart guarding Kobe, it was JR as well, and we all know how he was defensively. the point is K-Mart is quick enough to be an on ball defender. This time he will be guarding a forward, not a guard.

Yeah, but it's a forward whose game might even be more permiter based than even Kobe Bryant's. Kobe takes it to the hole more frequently than Dirk Nowitzki. Whoever is having to guard Shook Ones will be hovering near the 3 point line all series.

Great series by Denver. They're looking very good at the right time. I expect they'll make short work of Dallas. Just too strong and too deep.

Congrats to the Nugs, they beat the Hornets soundly in every single facet of the game.Too much firepower, good defense, spark guys off the bench, Billups owning CP3, everything went right for the Nuggets. Cant say Ill be rooting for ya against the Mavs but kudos for kicking our ass so epicly.
