Good, he deserved it. If anything 1 game is on the light side as punishments go for deliberately elbowing a guy in the face.

as sad as it is...He deserved it.

He could potentially mess up his teams chance of advancing.

When Karl Malone elbowed Steve Nash in the face, did he get a suspension? I'm just asking because I don't really remember.

That aint the first time he's done something dirty either, but hopefully he'll learn from this and never do it again. He's too much of a rolemodel and superstar to be pulling this shlt anyways.

KG's actions against the Hawks last year was worse. Predictably, he didn't get suspended.

This is absolutely huge and it probably guarantees a game 7.

League is really sending a message by suspending a superstar for something like this, basically letting everyone know they don't give a damn who does what, if it's illegal according to the rulebook you'll pay the consequences.

They only got cheap-shot Rob for two games for clotheslining Nash.

I dont think so.

i remember back in the day karl malone elbowed and gave stitches to a blazer. i think it was either brian grant or dale davis, i cant remember.

but it was obviousley on purpose and no foul was called and no suspension or anything, just a band-aid.

Man, I have a feeling he's just going to beast in game 7 now, if there is one.

This is good for Orlando. It will fire them up for game 6 and they could steal one in Philly. If not, they'll be at home for game 7 with a fresh Dwight Howard...76ers have no shot.

Dwight obviously pulls that elbow away from Dalembert, it looks like more of a warning shot; also, Dalembert is obviously elbowing Dwight in the back and then pushes him. I think if there was going to be a punishment it should have been an ejection at that point. A later punishment after looking at replays is poor judgement by the NBA.

P.S. In the old NBA, this type of play was an every game occurrence for Karl Malone and he was never penalized in any way. New NBA rules are too soft.

Just like they had no shot in game 1 with a fresh Dwight, right?

You do not want a game 7 if you are orlando, if I'm management I'm severaly disappointed with him because it opens up the door for ANY player to get hot and drop 20-30 points.

So if the 76ers reach the second round it will be a FRAUDULENT ADVANCEMENT and will prove Tony Dileo is Gay

It will be nothing like game 1. Do you know how hard it is to win a game 7 on the road...when you're the lower seed? Sorry but even if Orlando loses tomorrow, they will close out the series in the following game.

Im so nba'd out

The Boston and Philly fans here are practically blowing their collective wads in glee over this one. Yes, Howard deserved a suspension for connecting with that elbow to the head.

However, the whole idea behind competition is beating the best out there --at least for those who really want to BE the best team as opposed to simply having the most opportune circumstances helping them most of the way.

You think Larry Bird was happy not to get to face Magic in the 86 finals because the Rockets beat an injured Lakers team? I doubt he was happy getting to steamroll an obviously inferior team.

A fan who isn't a loser would want their team to be able to beat their competition with all of its personel being healthy and/or available.

Then if Players would be allowed to do all of this stuff unbridled the players would be accused of being classless 'Street Thugs' Especially with the bias against younger players today.

The League has learned from the Rudy T incident/others. They don't won't to see anythng like that happen again.

It's the right thing for the long term health & overall image of the league.

It was the right thing to do. If they had let it go, then all the later players who hit other players would use this scene as precedent not to get fined during their appeal. League can't afford that right now.

Saying Dwight out for game 6 is the worst thing that could have happened to the Sixers because he's going to be "fired up" for game 7 is the dumbest thing I ever heard.

Uhh...you do know that if he was playing there might not be a game 7 right? Not saying that there definitely is one now.

I'm not saying anything about the odds of a road team actually taking game 7. What I am saying is what EVERY analyst will say, that anyone can get hot in game 7.

And for the record, I don't know how hard it is, and I'm sure neither do you unless you've been in the situation, not to attack you, but let's be real here. They are going to play game 7 if the Sixers win game 6, if and when that becomes a reality, everything else is up to lady luck bro

Regardless of the outcome, Philly will be back next year, I will be ECSTATIC to see Nelson return to the court as he is a local product and I'm sure we'll see a better series as well

Yea, that looked pretty deliberate. I think 1 is light. It looks like it will be 3-3 and game 7 make final decision.

Why would anyone on the Celtics ever get suspended. They win 1/3 of their games off bull**** calls or pure luck.

If the refs called a foul on Dalembert for pushing Dwight in the back, the elbow would of never happened.

Shoving someone in their back is not even allowed in the NFL.

Agreed. Doesn't excuse the elbow though. Although I thought it was more of a warning elbow than anything from Dwight. I don't think he meant to connect with the head. Obviously he just clipped him or Dalembert would have been seeing stars.

Get off your high horse you dooshbag. That might be acceptable in the regular season (I still say no even then), but if we lose we go home. If you need a bit of luck, so be it. Real fan or not, I'm happy and will be perfectly fine with it when we win Game 6. This isn't phucking highschool basketball, idiot.

Yeah I see that point as well. But as the poster below you stated, it's no excuse. The correct call would have been for the ref to call the foul on Delembert and eject howard for the elbow.

The refs also need to be more dilligent about calling those types of fouls too. Delembert was not boxing out or using any technique that is in the game of basketball. He was straight up pushing him with two hands. Had that happened on the playground (where hard play is the norm), he would've been punched. Too many players result to MMA when it comes to stopping Dwight Howard from getting a rebound.
