White or dark?
Rum or vodka? Tequila (haha), whiskey? Other?
Specific brand?
I'm looking for a good, relatively expensive liquor for this weekend that will give me the best chance of not waking up feeling like crap.
Thinking about picking up some top shelf vodka but I want to spice my life up, expand my horizons. Give me some unpredictable sh!t that will rock my world but not hit it with an asteroid the next morning.

Vodka is as close as you will get. But if you mix it with harshness (Red Bull, 7up etc...) you'll pay.
Vodka tonic, Vodka cranberry are you safest bets.

Grey Goose gives me absolutely no hangover even when I get completely wasted the previous night. Grey Goose is the drink of the gods. Buy Grey Goose.
...now where's my money?

Yep, it's all about distillery, and vodka has the least amount of additives of any liquor out there. Just stay away from the cheap vodkas e.g. Seagrams, Dimitri or anything that comes in a PLASTIC bottle.

uh, water? Seriously, you should look into one of the liquor filters they sell in modern drunkard magazine. A lot of hangover is caused by the impurites such as sulfites in the drink. of course, you will still get hung over if you dehydrate your body with booze, but it helps slightly

If I'm not completely gone, I try and drink as much water as I can before I go to sleep. Definitely helps.

Yea, water. I also heard bananas are good for eating beforehand, for some reason.

there may be some truth to that. K and Na regulate cellular exchange so eating a banana (high in K) may help with cellular dehydration.

Ok, so high grade vodka, water, and bananas.
I was kinda hoping for something other than vodka just for variety but it'll have to do.
There is no such thing, and if there is I have never come across it. People who tell me that they do not get hangovers after a night of getting ploughed are liars or freaks of nature.

Red wine and dry gin. And don't drink any water.
In all seriousness, if you have a hangover in the morning, just drink a beer or have a bloody mary.

It's weird, some nights I can drink my face off and come out feeling decent the next morning and other nights I can drink like 8 beers and then slug some water before going to bed but still feel like complete **** the next day.
If you're looking to not get hungover while drinking vodka I only have one recommendation, and that is to avoid this guy at all costs:

Good vodka with a nice and easy non-carbonated mixer. My favorite is Stoli and cranberry. My drink of choice for about 12 years now and it always treats me right unless I go waaaay overboard.

I generally don't get "bad" hangovers, which generally means I just drink whatever the **** I want without much worry, BUT there have been a few occasions in which I took this to a bad limit :lol Generally, I try to stay away from having too much of both beer and hard liquor in the same night and I also try not to mix too much sugar in my drinks (like energy drinks)
Random story to keep people from wanting to get hammered. 2 nights ago was my last night in Madison for the summer so I decided to have some people over, nothing big, just a small get-together if you will. Went out and got some cases of beer and jager-bombs (yeah I know, real ********* drink, but whatever). That night I got completely ****-faced and was up until probably 4-5 am. Next day, I'd have to drive the 2-3 hours to get to O'Hare to fly back to the west coast. So I eventually wake up at noon with one of the worst hangovers of my life. I head immediately to the bathroom and take a beer ****. Buddy arrives a bit later for the drive down to Chicago. I figure it'd be OK even though I still feel like ****. Afterall, can't miss my plane. We take off and the 1st hour is relatively OK. We're cruising by and then I start to feel ****tier, car sickness in combination to an already terrible feeling in my stomach. We pull over and I puke out of the car, what I saw come out was a mixture of undigested food of dinner from the night before. Stomach definitely wasn't completely settled, but good enough to get back on the road. From that point on, we made 3-4 more pitstops along the road and I basically purged everything that could have possibly been in my system. Worst day-after experience of my life considering I'd never been one of those people to puke the next day. Puking the night of is waaay better. Since then, I can't even look at liquor. Need to take a break from the drinking

I notice the more expensive liquors usually leave me feeling the least hungover the next morning. I never get hungover off Bombay, Goose or Henny. Maybe its just because I cant afford to drink as much of them.

Actually I live in Washington D.C.
I havent checked any GNC's for it though. I used to get it at walgreens and rite-aid but they stopped carrying so I assumed it went out of business. I'll def go check GNC tonight, thanks for the heads up.

Don't drink mixed, other than maybe a beer or two before the liquor.
When you're done drinking, empty a bottle of water and eat a toast with butter and a decent amount of salt on it. When you wake up, immediatly take an Aspirin.
If you follow these orders, no hangover :oldlol:

that may be true, but I do know that Alka seltzer Morning Relief (which I dont think they still make) really did help. Something like 60 mg of caffiene and 1000 mg aspirin in a fuzzy effervesence. Helped with all the symptoms.

Vodka has the least amount of carcinogens out of all the liquors which is alot of what causes alot of a hangover...
BUT part of a hangover is just your body recovering from being poisoned by alcohol...when you get drunk, you are poisoning your body...and your body needs rest to recover...
also, hangover range a great deal from person to person and I don't really understand why...apparently around 25% of humans do not suffer from them at all...and I don't see a reason to believe it has to do with body weight or sex, or anything other than pure luck in your genes...as I have known little 120 lb alcoholic chicks that can drink a ton of vodka every night...
from Wiki:
A hangover (veisalgia) describes the sum of unpleasant physiological effects following heavy consumption of a drug, most notably alcoholic beverages. The most commonly reported characteristics of a hangover include headache, nausea, sensitivity to light and noise, lethargy, dysphoria, diarrhea and thirst.
Hypoglycemia, dehydration, acetaldehyde intoxication, and vitamin B12 deficiency are all theorized causes of hangover symptoms. Hangovers may last up to two or three days after alcohol was last consumed.[1] Approximately 25-30% of drinkers may be resistant to hangover symptoms.[2] Some aspects of a hangover are viewed as symptoms of acute ethanol withdrawal, similar to the longer-duration effects of withdrawal from alcoholism, as determined by studying the increases in brain reward thresholds in rats (the amount of current required to receive to electrodes implanted in the lateral hypothalamus) following ethanol injection.[3]

Yep, when I used to drink a lot (well, I still do, but I stopped following this formula for some reason), whenever I arrived home or was calling it a night, I'd always allow myself somewhere around an hour after finishing my last drink to switch to water and when possible, eat some variety of fruit. I never really recall having hangovers back then. I remember plenty of mornings without enough sleep, but not just pure misery.

I don't believe that there's that many people immune to hangovers. I'm sure there's some, but nowhere near that many. At least 20-25% of those people just simply haven't been drinking enough. :oldlol:

Vitamin B12 deficiency, huh? Didnt know that.
So basically, before I start drinking I have to set aside 3 bottles of water, a banana, vitamin supplements, hangover chaser pills, and some alka seltzer in order to not feel like crap in the morning.
Man, if getting plastered werent so much fun I would just give it up altogether.

Just give yourself an hour-ish recuperation time before going to bed in which you drink a substantial amount of water and piss approximately 37 times. Fruit is applicable. But that always did the trick for me. You just gotta have the self-control to stay awake for an hour without a drink in your hand, which can be very difficult to do by that time of night. :oldlol:

There is no such drink.
It's possible to drink one type of drink and not get a hangover one night, but there's no drink that you definintely won't get a hangover from. I used to think it was whiskey for me, and I had success with it for a while. Eventually, it'll catch up to your body.
Basically, mix in a bottled water with every 4 drinks or so and you should be okay. That's what I do. Stay somewhat hydrated. Drink a Vitamin Water and try to eat something before going to bed.

i hardly get hungover(and i drink like a lot) but after i got a court case and had to go to counselling for alcohol abuse(i was 16 and it was like once a weekend but apparently i had a problem:oldlol: ) they told me it was partly because of dehydration but mostly due to your brain going through cravings somewhat like cravings for a cigarette and you get pissy. well with liquor i guess it makes you feel like shyt.
Anyways the only thing thats given me a hangover was wine (a phuck load) and only that was my eyes being slightly sensitive to light for about an hour.
of course if i just dont sleep i will be sore but thats what its like booze or no booze for me
oh but i have heard from friends who get heavy hangovers that grey goose is amazing for not getting one,

Im not at all means an expert on alcohol, Ive only drank maybe 6-7 time. (and I mean get sh*tfaced drunk) and the only things Ive drank have been beer, Burnetts, and Canadian Royal. I havent had a hangover yet, so maybe Im just drinking the right stuff, or havent drank enough yet.
