I'm not saying Dwight is playing like Shaq. I'm saying Z is playing like Vlade.

Someone needs to get on LeBron, he is get really good jump shots.

Also, in the paint when LeBron begins to turn around to the basket with the ball. Verajao cuts in at the same moment he turns around to get a easy layup, it catches the defender off guard pretty well.

LeBron will have to continue playing a flawless game. Cleveland sure as hell isn't stopping Orlando and his teammates are playing even worse offensively than they did in the first 2 rounds.
I expected tonight to be the night that the Magic had a chance to steal a game from the Cavs because the layoff really truly works against teams 9 times out of 10 in their first game back because they lack rhythm. Apparently LeBron didn't get that memo and he's put the Cavs on his back. Hopefully for the Cavs sake the supporting cast makes their shots here as this game winds down.

This isn't a Cavs vs Lakers match-up thread and I'm sick of reading about this crap. Talk about the damn game or GTFO!

Agreed.:applause: GTFO with that. Let's focus on the Magic vs. Cavs series.

bruceblitz
05-20-2009, 10:30 PM
That is the point. The Cavaliers are starting to depend too much on Lebron and is not stepping up themselves. Lebron is hot, but he will eventually slow down. This does not go well if the rest of the team doesn't show up. I guarantee that it will show in the NBA finals if the Cavaliers make it that is.
Well I've watched about 95-100 Cavs games streaming from this season and playoff run, they usually shoot better than this.

I thought this was going to be a back and forth game, but it's been domination thus far.

I thought Game 1 would be close all game, and Game 2 would be the blow out after the Cavs got back into rhythm.

You have to know that LeBron was not going to come out like a lame duck, or let his team come out lame.

I'm impressed with the Magic so far, and I expect a blowout win in game 3 if they can't steal one in Cleveland. But.. that's it.

Fatal9
05-20-2009, 10:31 PM
That's the dumbest logic.

You can also say that Mo won't be this off also, the Cavs won't depend on LeBron this much, thus he may get more involved as the PG.

Yea Orlando will hit more jumpers, and get hotter, but then Dwight won't be beasting like he is tonight.

Dwight is a mismatch for whoever is guarding him on the Cavs. He is either too quick (Z) or too big (varejao, wallace).

FYI, Mo Williams has underperformed all playoffs so his having a bad shooting night isn't unusual.

Magic are at their best, when they do nothing but shoot 3's. They are at their worst when they dump the ball to Howard.

Aaron Brooks is just a horrible passer in general; probably the worst starting pointing guard in that field. Guy floats and lobs way too many passes.

Also when Dwight's 12-18, I don't think getting the ball to Howard is at "their worst".

LeBron doesn't like to attack with Dwight in the paint.

What makes you say that? Because he is not driving into the paint tonight? But he's on fire from the outside, taking out that one possesion where he missed 2 straight jumpers.

When LeBron has his jumper on like that, he won't drive he'll keep shooting until he cools down, or knows that he needs to draw a foul.

So you think Mo Williams will be 4-14 every night going into the 4th? No. LeBron's been on fire in the playoffs, if you haven't noticed.

Mo has struggled all post season, he is in a funk.

IMO this game will hurt badly for Cleveland If they lose, up 15 at HT with Lebron playing amazing and still losing? would be a bad sign and could mean this series goes the distance. They need these first two..

Dave3
05-20-2009, 10:39 PM

LeBron's been on fire in the playoffs, if you haven't noticed.

People always go solely on someone's past. Which is understandable, but sometimes you have to look at what that player or team is doing right now.

Carmelo for example, I don't care how he played back in the day, or I won't credit as much of Denver's success to Billups. I think Melo has stepped up his game this year, extremely, I think he's turning into a great leader on the court.

So what I am saying is, screw the regular season, LeBron is beasting, he is having that post-season which surpasses his regular season. It happens every once in a while, when a player just turns it on in the post-season.

Take it for what it is and.... to LeBron James' individual play. And give props to the Cavs team as a whole.

I hate the style of the Magic and I hate the Magic. All they do is jack up 3's and that's the way they play. Pathetic. :hammerhead:

Do you hate it reguardless if they are hitting all of their shots and dominating.

Or do you just hate it when they are bricking jumpers?

Cavs will still win but it's good to see them tested. Bron should take it to the rack now that he has them worried about the jumper..

That is one thing you have to give LeBron credit for, he knows when he needs to drive, and he usually practice this thinking in the 4th.

I hope LeBron just drives a few possesions in a row, it can demoralize a team, when they keep getting hit for fouls, especially the ticky tack fouls.

GiveItToBurrito

For this to be a true Michael Jordanesque performance, LeBron hits the game winner, Cavs take that confidence into game 2, Mo/West/Big Z shoot better, or at least 2 of the 3 guys, they roll. If the Cavs let this one slip away we have a 6-7 game series on our hands. I knew there was a good chance the Magic steal game 1 because the Cavs are tight and not in rhythm from the lay-off. LeBron recognizes this and he's taken over the game. Jordanesque performance SO FAR.
