Plus, if you really want to honor Jordan, just name the MVP trophy after him or something...Don't change a logo that has no problems with it. I don't want to go see a massive overhaul of NBA stadiums/courts, jerseys, shirts, warmups, socks, sneakers, etc. just to update the logo. It just seems like wasted money.

I guarantee if I showed my mom, girlfriend or even some of my male friends the Jordan logo, they would just think its a basketball player dunking.

I believe the NBA logo was the first to have that style with the white figure with the red and blue background. Now, that format has become the standard for sports league logos.

-EDIT that style was first with the MLB in '68, and the NBA copied that in '69.

Just pretend the current one is Jordan. The whole point of the silhouette logo is that you can't tell who it is anyway. It's supposed to invoke an anonymous, faceless baller. It's supposed to be "fill in the blank." Most people don't know who it is, and that's as intended.
