LeBron actually had the best quote on this whole "guarantee" concept everyone has always talked about in the age of egotistical millionaire players which I will paraphrase here. Basically he said:

"What's the difference between trying to win and saying we're going to win? Its not like we would try any less hard in one or the other."

Every team has to think they're going to win in the playoffs or they wouldn't bother playing hard enough to make it there. Nothing wrong with saying out loud what everyone already knows.
