The Lakers fans who are cheering for the Magic are retards. If I was a Lakers fan I would want to face the Cavs but they are blinded by their hate for LeBron, they just want to see LeBron's team fail even though he's the only player in NBA history to put up 40+ 8+ 8+ in a series, which he's doing so far in this series. Should be cheering for the Cavs. IF the Magic close this series out, which it looks inevitable, you guys will get what you wished for. Be careful what you wish for.
-Lakers suck at defending the pick n roll, the Magic are great at getting open 3 point shots off a high screen
-Lakers will not have an answer for Dwight Howard
-Lakers bigs will be neutralized by Dwight
The Magic will crush the Lakers if LeBron doesn't pull a historic performance to bring the Cavs back in this one (cavs are down by 15 points in the first half as I type this)

they're both good teams, we have matchup/defensive problems with both teams. It's the NBA finals, it's going to be one of the best teams in the league either way. Having a preference between the two doesn't imply we're under rating anyone. I don't see a lot of "Lakers are about to sweep the Magic" threads, just you telling us what we think and why we're wrong.

Lakers have no answer for Yao Ming
Lakers have no answer for the Denver Nuggets.
I remember this other guy on another site who was massive Heat hater, who said this in the 2006 playoffs.
-Heat will lose to the Bulls
-Heat will lose to the Nets
-Heat will lose to the Pistons
-Heat will lose to the Mavericks.

You should have been pulling for the Cavs but you proved your bias against LeBron by cheering for the better team, the Magic, who's gonna smack your boy Kobe right out of his shoes by scoring up and down on that Lakers defense.
It's official, after seeing how much you guys cheered against LeBron, I'm cheering for the Magic in the finals. That's if LeBron doesn't pull some crazy crap here in the second half.

Orlando's terrific, but LA is light years ahead of Cleveland from a standpoint of size and athleticism. They won't have anywhere close to the trouble defensively that Cleveland had. And that's all they need to do, really. Their league-best offense will take care of the rest.

If you want a legit title, you want to play and defeat the best, whomever that is. . . PERIOD.
I don't really care which team proves itself to be the best even if the Magic match up better against the Lakers. Put the best against the best and let the chips fall where they may.
The only reason I would get a kick out of the Cavs losing is to see how someone may try to dispose of a DNA splattered Fathead with it's head cut off.

Don't put words in my mouth. I never said Lakers have no answer for Yao, I thought the Lakers would win that series easily and it went to 7. I never said the Lakers don't have an answer for the Nuggets. I never said the Heat would lose to the Bulls in the 06 playoffs (I'm a Bulls fan). etc etc etc
The Lakers defense sucks and they only show up on defense sometimes, even with their best effort on defense they will not be able to contend with Dwight in the paint and all of the good shooters the Magic have on the perimeter, add in the Orlando defense and you will see Kobe lose for the 3rd time in 6 finals appearances.
Just watch.

You're clearly a Laker hater going by just your posts on this thread. I understand you're upset at Lebron and the Cav's being down 18, but perhaps you need to step outside and get some fresh air. Some people like the challenge of facing a team playing as well as the Magic are regardless of matchup problems or regular season head-to-head record. Relax.

I know you nimrods don't look at overall production, you just like a player's flash. Look at the statistical production for the last 4 years, Kobe isn't on LeBron's level as an all-around basketball player. Give me an ever-loving break you goof. LeBron is the superior player in the NBA right now, LeBron's averaging 40-8-8 in this series or the Cavs would have been swept.
Start watching full games in the regular season, start watching the way LeBron plays, because clearly you don't and haven't been watching LeBron even in these playoffs which are games that are broadcast nationally. Slap yourself for being such a terrible impersonator as a basketball fan.

okie dokey. Someone who claims to be a true realist and thinks "fanhood" is a virtue shouldn't say "NO chance". I mean it's professional basketball, even if you think one team is vastly superior (which in the NBA finals is rare) saying "NO chance" just feels bitter and short sighted. No?

I'm sorry but a couple of my favorite players of all time are Magic and Kareem. I also liked Shaq in his dominant years, you were always waiting for that beast to dunk on someone else or rip down another rim/backboard. As far as these current lakers, I enjoy watching Kobe play because you can see Jordan's influence on his game so clearly. As far as hating the Lakers, I hate the way the Lakers fans have acted on the internet during this Cavs series. Trying to diminish the greatest performance since Jordan left the Bulls, as far as a playoff series is concerned, just because they feel threatened by LeBron's greatness is dumb. I'm 100% cheering for the Magic to smoke their ass.

I admit I am bitter. Not about the Cavs losing but about the arrogance from the Kobe apostles and blind hatred for LeBron James. I'm not even a Cavs fan, Bulls fan first, just enjoy seeing such a great all around talent like LeBron play and the way these Kobe apostles act, he's a bum.

Well if you mean 100% healthy Deng, probably, might have been enough to win the series in 6. The problem is ever since Deng signed his contract extention, and we showed him the money, he went into the tank. So I've lost a lot of confidence in Deng. Speculation had it that he could have come back from that injury but didn't want to.

I find LeBron boring. I have nothing against him but this. Not entertaining, except his dunks or when he is totally on fire from everywhere on the court. I think he is a great player, but I don't like watching him (i.e.: his team) play.

I think Orlando will cause match-up problems but thank the lord up above that we have Odom who can come off the bench to neutralize and give us a PF in a SF's body like Shard for Orlando. It is also huge that Jameer isn't playing.

THe celtics and Cavs didnt have an answer for 6-10 shooters who are dangerous from 3. Having a 6'5 Ray Allen or 6'3 West try to close out on those guys was a big disadvantage.
The Lakers have long athletic players in Odom(6 10) and Ariza(6'8 with long arms)
The lakers have 3 point attacks, and athletes...something boston and cleveland dont have collectively

We had perkins and that was it.
Cavs have a very slow Z and an Undersized Wallace with a Varejau who is not strong enough.
Lakers have athletic Bigmen who will take Howard out the box area.
Seriously i dont care for either team, but the lakers have the perfect mix to beat the Magic in 6 games.

Bynum is playing through an injury, so it will be Gasol who plays Dwight. I don't think Gasol will have any problems. Gasol is taller and has a jumpshot. Dwight does NOT have a jumpshot and cannot shoot over the taller Gasol.
It sucks that Odom, Ariza, Kobe, and Bynum is injured, yet Lakers are still favored to win it all.

This should be a good series.
Despite the "Lebron vs. Kobe" hype, I don't think the Cavs-Lakers would've made that entertaining a series. The 2 games they played this year were disappointing. The Magic-Laker games I saw (with Nelson playing PG) were exciting.

I apologize for bringing it so hard in this post, because I know the silent majority of Lakers fans weren't cheering against LeBron just for the sake of cheering against him, I aimed this post at the ones who were. Should be a fun series to watch but I warn you Lakers fans, this Magic team is scary. I have Lakers winning game 1, if you don't win game 1 the fat lady will already be warming up her vocal cords. From game 2 and on I can realistically see the Magic controlling this series. Better close out on the perimeter and no way will the Lakers bigs be able to contain Dwight. Bynum will be in foul trouble the entire series.

That's awfully funny because NOWHERE in your OP did you mention Chicago, the Bulls or D Wade. :confusedshrug::confusedshrug:
All your post seems to discuss is how great LeBron is and how the Magic are going to destroy the Lakers. And how the Lakers fans should be worried. :ohwell::ohwell:
Man up and claim your crap!!! You wanted LeBron to win and he didn't, you wanted the Lakers to lose and they didn't.
You WANT TO JUMP ON THE MAGIC BANDWAGON NOW because you hate the Lakers/KOBE.
Just own it!!!!!! Be a MAN and just keep it real. Is it really that hard?? Make a youtube about it or something. :confusedshrug::confusedshrug:
I'm a Bulls fan, your false perceptions of my fanhood don't matter one bit.
I already stated the reasons why I'm on the Magic bandwagon:
A: the Kobe apostles, I want to see them cry
B: The Magic are from the same conference as my favorite team, Chicago
C: I think the Magic are the better team
Bonus: Kobe was my favorite player in the early 00's, LeBron is my favorite player now but I'm glad my Bulls actually do have a chance to get him if the Cavs don't sign someone like Amare... patience is a virtue, you little roaches will be nowhere to be found when LeBron gets a true low post scoring presence as a teammate.

Why are you acting like the Lakers will get crushed by the Magic. I clearly remember the two games we played against them were very close. At LA they beat us by 6, but it was close all game but they had Jameer Nelson who scored 28 points and Dwight Howard who had 25. The game that we played in Orlando was 106-103, so it is a lot closer then you think.
However all the games they won in the regular season against the Cavaliers was by double digits and it showed in this series why. We can say the regular season does not matter but all the games we played against the Nuggets in the regular season were extremely close and it definetly showed in the series. We are the number one offense and the Magic defense will definetly have problems with us way more then they did with Cleveland. Cleveland had plenty of open looks they just were not hitting their shots, what makes you think the Lakers wont either?
You say the Lakers play bad defense? Yes we play bad defense when we are not focused. Both of the games in these playoffs that we have been focused the teams got blown out. Against the Rockets in Game 7, we were prepared and it was more worse then a blowout, and last night as well. When the Lakers WANT TO WIN they are unbeatable, and I know they want this championship bad, hence the straight faces at the trophy presentation last night. I did not see one Laker player crack a big smile like the Magic did tonight.
You are just a Lakers hater and do not want them to win. You say you did not pick the Nuggets to win, please you basically said everything but the word win. You said how we would get killed by Melo, and how we have no one to guard Billups, and I clearly remember you saying then the Lakers will get a big wakeup call, just watch. Well we all watched and we saw that when the Lakers did not play defense they lost, when they decided to show up they won. I think we had more trouble with Houston then we did with Denver, so your predictions so far have all been off.
Because of your hate towards the Lakers, you can not see what everybody else sees. I as a Laker fan wanted us to face Magic not because I hate Lebron or the Cavs because they definetly would have been an easier matchup, but to prove to people like you that when the Lakers want to play, they are unstoppable. Like I said before the Nuggets series, YOU will be the one getting the wakeup call. Even Orlando fans can admit that this will be a tough series and for you to act like it wont just shows your hate.
Who will guard Kobe? Gasol? Odom? The reason Cavs lost was because they did not have another man besides Lebron who was able to score night in and night out that the Magic defense can focus on; and that is why they were able to only focus on Lebron, and his teammates still found open looks, they just could not hit them. With the Lakers those shots will go in, and Orlando will be forced to double team. I projected even before the playoffs started Lakers in 6 over Magic and I am sticking to that; but you my friend will get a big wake up call, since you seem to have 0 basketball knowlegde when all of your predictions so far have been off when it comes to the Lakers, and are just based upon hate.

I like the Magic in 6. This team is so focused and resiliant. Lakers are about to face a team that has the CONFIDENCE after beating Boston on there court and Cleveland in a series plus knowing they were 2-0 against the Lakers in the Regular season. Orlando has a Beast in the Middle and sharp shooters all over the place..they are very hard to defend. Lakers have some things too but Magic has a will to win that is VERY impressive.

Second your explanation is fine and all but it has absolutely ZERO to do with your original post, or for that matter my response.
Third your name calling is quite comical, as I have stated in the past, if you can't cut & paste some crap or post a youtube you really have nothing to say.
I'm glad to hear that after winning game 6 you FINALLY think that the Magic is the better team. :ohwell:

The Magic will crush the Lakers if LeBron doesn't pull a historic performance to bring the Cavs back in this one (cavs are down by 15 points in the first half as I type this)
LOL terrible analysis. The Lakers aren't completely slow, flat footed, un athletic, and inept at the C - SF spots. And they don't have a team full of small guards.

Bruce I think your a great poster but crush the lakers. I don't think so.. The LAKERS have athletic players at every position except the pt guard position.. Kobe will have much better looks than Lebron and Kobe doesn't have to be a facilitator.. The Lakers have ariza to defend the opposing teams best offensive player and Lamar ,GASOL AND ARIZA can defend much better at the perimeter than Wallace ,varejo and Z...

I have a feeling that the Lakers have been overlooking other teams as they were playing for a long-term goal. Now is the time where they'll have to show what they've learned this year.
It should be a great series but I don't see what the big reality check is. People already know that the Magic are a great team.

Man, Bruce comes off so bitter in almost any post regarding the Lakers.
- You already said the Nuggets were going to beat the Lakers and how the Lakers fans were in for a rude awakening in that series.
- Yes, the Magic can give the Lakers problems. The Lakers struggle defending the pick and roll and if Bynum gets in foul trouble early like he has so far in the playoffs Dwight has the potential to really hurt them.
- Lakers fans are cheering for the Magic because they have HC over the Magic, not because they think they're going to just roll over them in the finals. Call it the lesser of two evils if you will. It's not like we have alot of great options to choose from at this point, we can either face a 66 win team that has HC over us and the MVP, or a 59 win team that beat us twice in the regular season. Either way, it's going to be tough. HC is huge though and it's pretty rational for Laker fans to want Orlando for that reason.
So no, Lakers fans aren't retards for wanting to face the team that gives them HC. You however come off extremely bitter and irrational in nearly any post I've ever seen you make regarding the Lakers or Kobe. Seriously, it's basektball man, I get that you enjoy living vicariously through people with far more talent than you but you don't need to get so worked up over it. At this point it's just kind of sad.
That being said, go Lakers. I for one think the Magic will be a tough match up, and hope the Lakers are able to pull it out.

It's official, after seeing how much you guys cheered against LeBron, I'm cheering for the Magic in the finals. That's if LeBron doesn't pull some crazy crap here in the second half.

It's not like it cheering harder from 3000 miles away makes any sort of difference. As a Lakers fan I agree Cleveland would have been an easier match up, only because I did not buy into them for a second this year and was convinced they were an inferior team. So obviously it would be easier to go up against them.

I think the lakers will have trouble with dwight one on one. Too strong for pau and too quick for bynum. However, the lakers are quick and long enough to double dwight and still get back to the shooters. Dwight isn't a good enough passer, especially on the move.
Orlando is in trouble. Lewis can't possibly slow gasol down. If he starts burning LA on offense, odom can come in and keep up with him. Ariza can give hedo fits. Pietrus matches up pretty well with kobe, but he's the only one on the magic. LA in 5.
Any cheering for Orlando was simply due to the home court factor. No disrespect to Orlando - we're 0-2 against them this season so we know what they can do and the matchup problems they present us with. A fairly simple concept for most people, really.

Not really. Dwight isn't that good, as people make him out to be. He is not even as good as Yao Ming. Perkins pretty much kept him in check, in the Boston series. Bynum and Gasol will do good versus him.
Dwight Howard is just not that dominate. He basically can only dunk. That little hook shot he has been doing is underdeveloped and teams will give him that shot all night. He isn't good at the free throw line consistently. He doesn't have pretty much any kind of basket moves.
He has key weaknesses and they will all get exposed versus the Lakers. I'm thinking people on ISH will quickly jump off the Dwight Howard bang wagon soon enough.

You probably also said this.
Lakers have no answer for Yao Ming
Lakers have no answer for the Denver Nuggets.
I remember this other guy on another site who was massive Heat hater, who said this in the 2006 playoffs.
-Heat will lose to the Bulls
-Heat will lose to the Nets
-Heat will lose to the Pistons
-Heat will lose to the Mavericks.
Guess what happened?
Lakers are going to win, they have no answer for Gasol or Kobe.
The Matchups are gonna be great in this series. Both teams really match up well with each other and have good versatility off the bench.
Magic can go big with Dwight & Battie/Gortat if they need keep Bynum & Pau in check.
Or they can stick to 'small ball' and play Dwight & Shard to match if PJ plays the Bynum/Pau & Odom front court.
@ Small Forward, Orlando can rotate Hedo/Shard/Pietrus in depending on if they need to go big or small
@Shooting Guard, Lee & Pietrus are both very good defenders but Kobe is Kobe. LA has the edge here.
@ Point Guard, If Orlando had Jameer I would pick Orlando to win. Jameer would give Orlando a similar edge a PG that LA has at shooting guard. As seen earlier in the year, there's no way Fisher could check him. Idk but I just dont trust Alston as much. If Alston can step it up in this series Orlando may have a chance, but I just dont think we have enough firepower w/o Jameer. If LA is playing their best game, and Orlando is playing our best game, I think LA would win. If LA hits some kind of slump, I think Orlando has an outside chance. So let's get it, Orlando! Anything Is Possible!!!!

Wow! I was so right. :D

Perfect example of why I respect you Brans. Many people may not know the past discussions you and Bruce have had and how many times youve called each other out for whatever reasons but right here you had a chance to throw the game in his face (Like someone else couldnt wait to do) and you were cool about it. If LA wins the series you probably wont be as cool about it but you and Bruce have a past of going at each other so I think by now its almost expected of one another.

09-07-2009, 05:54 PM
Just watch.
We can't put words in your mouth because your foot is in the way.

The Magic will crush the Lakers if LeBron doesn't pull a historic performance to bring the Cavs back in this one (cavs are down by 15 points in the first half as I type this)
great analyst. what a failure.

Why does ISH allow 3 year old threads to be bumped? I was wondering what the hell the OP was talking about until I checked the date. Jeff, fix your f*cking forums! Allow thread to auto-lock after a year Jesus Christ! :facepalm

I was looking at posters predictions for the upcoming Spurs/Heat finals and I lol'd at a few, but that brought me to classic Finals prediction fails, and this one has to be one of the most classic epic fails:oldlol:

Then how would we be able to mock all the wrong predictions made by posters who think they are knowledgeable?
Great bump, Bran. :oldlol:
