im 5'8 barefoot my standing reach is 7'3, wingspan is close to 5'11. I looked at the nba combine results and a standard will be 2 foot more then your height. Exp: your height is 5'10 then standing reach will be 7'10.
So basically I have a standing reach of someone 5'3? Zzzz...
No wonder I have friends who can touch rim who arent really much taller them me. The most I can reach is half palm on the rim connecter. I tried to measure my running vert at home and i think its around 29 inches.
The thing is, I dont think my arms are dwarf length, maybe below average but 7'3 is ridiculous, the standing reach results really surpise me. Do you guys face this problem? what is your height and standing reach?
I'm 5'10.5 barefoot with a 7'7" reach and my wingspan is maybe 5'11 or 6'. I'd say that's about right for you. You might have measured a little wrong, or your shoulders could be lower on your body.

It's not wierd. You're comparing yourself to NBA players that have ridiculously long limbs. If you compared yourself to the average person or people who have similar height to you, you'll find that it's not that wierd at all.

I got a question, what race are you? White people and Asians tend to have shorter arms relative to their heights than black people. I'm 6'3 with a standing reach of about 8'6 or 8'7.

What he said. NBA players, most college players have arms longer that anything. Why is that maybe the chest pass stretches out their arms, and the jump shot who knows, but NBA players have long azz arms. Don't compare yourself to them. If you compare yourself to the average man it is normal.

what is the average wingspan for a person
The average Male Height is 5'9
The average Female Height is 5'5
and they say your wingspan should be able the size of how tall you are so it should be pretty much identical give or take an inch.

I'm 5'9.66" and I have a standing reach of 7' 8 1/2" and my wing span is 75.5"(6'3 1/2"). I noticed that I have a much greater wingspan than most people my height becuase most boxers/mma guys have much shorter wingspans than me. Either I have very wide shoulders or long arms or both.
Also, how do people explain that white Rik Smits had a 10'0" standing reach?

That's not really true because Indians(who are from Asia) have pretty long arms for their height.
BTW, the funny thing is that nobody knows who the guy in the middle is even though he's one of the 5 or 10 most famous people in the world.
My Indian friends tell him that he's known throughout the Arab World, Africa, East Asia, and even Europe, but unknown in the US.

I am 6ft4 and can only reach 8ft1. If I had an 8ft4 reach, I would be bangin with ease.

Nah, your standing reaching isn't unusually low. It sounds pretty average for your height. To be honest, I think a lot of the NBA standing reach measurements are inflated (even though they are already measured with shoes on). Then again, like others suggested, you could have a relatively long neck and head.
