I just purchased some new Sony Bass MDR-XB500 headphones online. Does anybody have a pair? If so, are they any good? I have 300's but I have read that the 500's are better and cost more.

So...Sony XB500'S or the Sony XB700's. Please help me...Just because a pair of headphones cost more does it mean they are better or are you just paying for the larger size?

i can't speak on the xb, but i use the mdr-v6 and i love them. i could wear them all day and not have sore ears, good padding and they sound incredible. i use them for recording. i highly recommend them.

Sony headphones are alright in most cases, but I wouldn't even think about buying headphones before I've had the chance to try them. Physical stores are still good for something I guess.

Lol, Sennheisers.

You guys do know that Sennheiser ranges from professional grade to utter crap right? Most of them are crap. It's the old "Our topline is great, but the rest is just the generic stuff with our name stamped on it for a 70% price raise" trick.

NO way a $50 Sennheiser headphones is better than a $50 pair of Sony's.

Maybe I'll post this here.

I'm planning on buying a new pair of headphones, hopefully a pair that will last me for a few years. They're just going to be for home, watching movies and listening to music. Any recommendations under $200 from somewhere online, or would I just better off just going into the local Future Shop or Best Buy? Comfort is very important if I'm going to be using these to watching movies, and obviously I want a quality sound.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
