06-15-2009, 12:44 AM
Its a real shame because from what im hearing the celebrations started off as families, and children, various fans etc...but then you have the homeboys, cholos and such that show up, have had too much to drink, and begin fighting, destroying property, and attempting to flip cars...

Basically savages who cannot handle themselves ruin it for the actual fans that just want to celebrate.

[Updated at 10:04 p.m. The LAPD continued to deal with unruly behavior from crowds around Staples Center. A group of people vandalized an MTA bus and continued to set small fires. A group of fans walked up the onramp of the 110 Freeway. The LAPD said four people have been arrested.

nope haven't seen anything out of the usual for a city celebrating a championship. LAPD has arrested 4 people thus far, so it aint too bad.

knowing how many bad seeds we have here in la i think its been pretty tame.

Got to love the generalizations. LA is a gang infested town, just because a handful of idiots get out of hand celebrating doesn't mean you can put the label on the entire city of LA.

We got a ton of gang bangers looking for trouble, heck if an old lady looks at them the wrong way they start beef. The other month when I visited L I've seen a white lady honking the horn at a black girl because she was being a total **** and blocking the road; so her and some of her guy friends tried to swing at the lady through her car window.

There are a lot of retards in LA, but there are a lot of good citizens too.

yes when you have a population of 20 million in la/oc you will have more bad seeds than if you live in a city whose metropolitan population is 2 million such as Portland. seems pretty obvious.

These Laker fans are idiot. Your team wins a title so you celebrate by tearing down street signs and destroying property on the outside of your team's arena? Makes no sense to me. Some of these idiots were throwing flares and beer bottles at the cops and jumping on cop cars. A couple of them also decided to think they were cool and ran onto the freeway. The city shouldn't waste money on a parade, its just gonna give these idiots another timeslot to destroy more public property and disturb the peace.

Throwing beer bottles and flares at police is celebrating too much? Throwing a flaming trashcan and jumping on police cars is celebrating too much? No that is breaking the law and disturbing the peace. How would you like it if you were working and idiots were throwing beer bottles at you and vandalizing? SMH :confusedshrug:

STFU clown. The only reason we dont have a team is we have no stadium, we have the colliseum and rosebowl but NFL wants to be able to charge 120$ a seat so every seat in those stadiums would need to be upgraded-YEH RIGHT

Just proves again that riots doesn't always happen for a reason, it was supposed to be a celebration not an angry riot, but morons will make everything a riot on the slightest chance possible, that's why riots shouldn't be taken seriously to evaluate a community's opinion about something.

By their behavior, I would actually think they are Magic fans releasing their frustrations.

For those that aren't aware, the Staples Center is surrounded by gang infested streets. You go a few blocks in any direction and it's not pretty.

You LITERALLY could often park on some gangbangers lawn if you wanted to see a game at the Coliseum.

I heard the story of this shoe shop on the radio.
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k188/hardk0re36/47504125.jpg
The owner was watching the game at a relatives house, and saw the violence forming at the corner his shop was on. By the time he got there, the shop was empty.

They said the arrested the people who live in a loft above his shop - they found a bunch of boxes in their livingroom. :ohwell:

Hard to believe a pair of shoes is worth it...

Right, because just saying "LOL, at the guys stealing stuff" wouldn't have been an adequate enough description. Would you also have no problem saying "LOL, at the black guys eating watermelon."?

Anyway, you made your point, but I think we could have done without the extra descriptive words.

I think the violence by idiots is a bit overblown in the media. Last year in Boston fans were throwing rocks and whatnot after Boston won and that wasn't reported at all. After the Bulls' championship there was rioting. Even when the spurs won one of the years there was some looting in the riverwalk by asshats. Honestly as a Laker fan this stuff is extremely shameful, but it's not like it's the only town it's happened in.
