What Yahoo? The website or are you referring in context with something from Gulliver's Travels?
btw, .75 is a mad deal for a RES. I got mine from Big Al's Aquarium 13 years ago for 9.99 each (a total of two). Nowadays, from most big scaled pet stores, young RES cost at least 15 bucks each.

The surprising thing is that the older ones actually cost least as pets. I am guessing that's coz they have less pet life span left and are also less cute.

Hes younger and Ive only had him for about a year. Hes very skiddish and hostile to other people, but really cute, just like Peewee. Our family still hasnt trained him much, but thats also alot to do with his personality, because Peewee was never as bad as him.

I never said he was hostile towards his owners.

But to anybody he doesnt know he is, and even with some of my friends, but thats because they have smellz of other dogz on them.

He is fine with me, my sister, brother, dad, mom, grandma, grandpa, and lotz of my friendz, and other aunts/unclez.

I think it just means the dog wasn't properly socialized. If you get in when it's a bit older, it isn't your fault.

I dunno how old Tucker is, but you could try letting him hang around other folks even if he's hostile at first. He will stop the hostility eventually..

You guys should see them run in an open field... Absolutely incredible. They are amazingly fast and graceful with crazy endurance. I have to take them for five mile runs twice a day. I usually find a secluded area and get in my car while they run alongside it. I can get it up to 25-30 miles per hour and they keep pace without slowing down. Crazy.

This pic was from when I was in 6th grade...12 years old I believe. Got her when I was 10 and she's still alive! She's definitely lost a few steps though. She doesn't go up stairs anymore even if you ask her to. She doesn't crawl down on all four legs when she eats her treat and she gets up a lot slower. She still likes to play though.

I have two pure bred weimaraners. They are from the same litter and have been pretty much attached at the hip their entire lives.

Here they are as pups...

Here is a more recent pic...

http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/5654/bythefire.jpg

...the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Crazy.
I've always been interested in getting one of these dogs. Whats the upkeep on them?

Why post your aunts and uncles dog?
Cause, I've been around him since I was born, and my mom and I had to take care of him for 3 years, so I kind of consider him my dog..

I don't think he'll be living much longer, though. He's alive and kicking right now, but he's partially blind, partially deaf, his muscles ache and so do his bones.

About two months ago she started jumping at everything that moves, even random people on the street, and that's not good when it's bad weather. Even tho she knows quite a few commands and learned them with ease, she is rarely obediant (only when being rewarded). I hope that she will be more obediant as she matures...

Well... I wouldn't recommend getting weimaraners unless you have ample room to run them. When I say, "run" I don't mean a little trot up and down the street that you do with bulldogs or boxers. They are high energy sporting dogs that really need huge open fields to run.

That said, they are really, really great dogs. In fact, I would never own another breed, I don't think. They are very unique... Also, they are known as one of the smartest breeds on earth.

If you have the space to take care of them, I would say to definitely go for it. Btw, I get mine for a breeder just outside of Pittsburgh. He is considered one of the best out there and he has won Westminster among others with his dogs. If you are still interested, I'll send you his information.

she is the biggest tomboy known to man - always wanting to play soccer and chase balls/frisbees. soccer is definitely her favourite though. the cutest thing about her is when we take her to the doggie park, she goes around giving every dog she meets a kiss (lick).

i will have to take her to the beach when it warms up a bit; it's too cold down here atm.

This mofo would kill rabbits and bring them back through the cat flap. :pimp: He was a hunter extraordiane, the curse of many a dead bird.

Unfortunately after going "missing" for a few days my Dad found him dead on the road around the corner from our house, no doubt he faced death as he did life, with bravery and fearless abandon. :pimp:

I don't have a picture of it, but I used to own a fishtank with about 5 goldfishes a couple years ago in my old house. I did some googling and found a picture that looks exactly like my fish tank used to and also has very similar plants to the ones I did. Damn, it looks just like my fish tank used to. Sadly, all of the fishes died because of filthy water. I used drinking water from the knob one month to replace the water, and all of the fishes died.

My 5 year old Boxador. He's basically a mini-lab. Weighs about 65 pounds and isn't as tall as a normal lab. He was the runt of the litter and it definitely was one of those "love at first sight" moments when I picked him out. The black sheets are on purpose because the fur doesn't show up when he's shedding. Have to wash them a once or twice a week (depends on how lazy I'm being) and maybe three times or so in the summer when he's really shedding. He spends most of his time outside but I let him sleep in my bed with me, especially in the summer when it's really hot, and in the winter when it's really cold.

Shih Tzu's kinda get the rep as being "girlie" dogs but they're awesome. My aunt and uncle got me one when I was three years old and that dog was the shit. Lived for 15 years. Had to take him to be put down at the very end of my senior year of high school. He was having seizures, couldn't walk, and keeping him alive at that point was just torture. Literally grew up with that dog, so like every major moment of my life from 3 years old to 18 years old, he was there. It was definitely one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

Akita's can be pretty nasty if they're not raised right (sadly you often see them at a humane society because they weren't brought up correctly and bit someone) We took the dog to classes and I would trust him with my life if someone tried to break it. He's not one to be fukked with .

I love Border Collies. I was actually considering getting a Border Collie instead of a Lab before I got my dog. The only reason I settled on the Lab is because I saw an ad in the paper on a couple giving away Lab puppies for free. The only ads I saw for Border Collies were all semi-expensive and I was broke and jobless at the time.

Yeah. I don't like those big damn dogs that shed everywhere and slobber all over everything. If that makes me girly then so be it. Gizmo was awesome. She never barked or caused any problems.

Well, I didn't know better since I got mine when I was three. I love my Boxador to death. Wouldn't trade him for another dog despite the insane amounts of shedding. But not finding clumps of dog hair every time I turned around was nice with the Shih Tzu.

In general Akita's aren't good for families. They are one owner dogs who are overly serious and protective. Bad around children and all other animals. They are good for single people though and fiercely loyal. Maybe yours is an exception but Akita's are known for poor temperment

I actually got attacked by one when I was a baby. Though, I don't remember it, I can vouch for that.

It truly takes a dedicated owner to make it work. And my dad is above and beyond for Akitas. Went to numerous classes and we couldn't have asked for a better dog. Our other one on the other hand is also an akita we adopted through a rescue mission in New York. Whoever was the previous owner really messed it up in the head because she's pretty cranky but no bites from either except a kid who was trying to break in to our house and that's where that great loyalty factor kicks in.

They definitely don't play around when it comes to stuff like that.

They are great dogs. My brother found it near his friends house in the woods near-death. He brought him back to our house to get him some food and now the bastards fat because my mom feeds it like a human. The only downside about him is he's full of energy 24/7 and we live in an apartment loft with no yard. Obviously, Border Collies are known for their energy so it's expected. But when I'm home from college, I have to walk him three times a day at least otherwise he just whines and whines.

Crazy that you got attacked man! They are so beautiful and perfectly balanced physically. I just wish they were less serious. Akita's are known for independence... not affectionate at all (usually). I like dogs that are super affectionate and good with kids and other animals etc.

Yeah, man. I was like three years old and I guess my dumbass grabbed the dogs collar that my dad was watching at the time when it decided to latch onto my ear. Still have a nasty scar had to get like ten stitches.

What you said is pretty true. Tyson likes to be pet every so often but he usually sticks to his favorite spot on the landing. All I need is a hybrid of him and my collie: A playful dog that yet knows how to take it easy and just relax at the same.

Well if you want affectionate but only to a point and independent (not clingy) stick with female dogs. They are less affectionate than males typically. My old mix used to cuddle with my girl and I on the couch when we wanted but if we didn't want it... she would go lay in her own spots for hours at a time and do her own thing. Male dogs are more clingy and emotionally needy believe it or not.

Holy shit that looks exactly like the dog my uncle has in Mexico, usually uses that dog for the farm & shit. Those dogs are very intelligent.
