looks like a really humble kid. hope he can deal with the fact that he might not end up being a superstar in high school, college or the NBA. at 5' 7" at 13 he likely won't grow to be Jordan's size.

SsKSpurs21

13 is still pretty young and he is already 5' 7''. this kid is probably barely hitting puberty, i bet when he gets to about 15-16 he will shoot up to 6 maybe 6'3''...could be an undersized 2 like steve francis or wade.

The Jordan thing was a joke. It wasn't explicitly stated in the video piece, but it looks like we're trying to identify superstars at an earlier and earlier age.

At 5' 7" and 13, he's likely just hitting puberty... He does have another 8 or so years to grow... How tall was Jordan when he was 13?

This kid looks really talented for his age, for how young he is that's really good. I wouldn't be surprised to see this kid as a top 10 draft pick in the future or even in the top 5 if he continues to mature and get better. I expect him to be at least 6'0"-6'3" after he gets his growth spurt. This guy will probably be something special.

The video is pretty subtle but for all the accolades heaped at this kid, he must be pretty good, especially this one:

"Reese excelled at the Nike five-star All-American camp at Florida State in June. He was picked for the 120-player NBA Division, whose previous youngest participant in its 41-year history was an incoming high school sophomore. The 10 teams in the NBA Division drafted players with the stipulation that the first player had to be at least 6-6, and the second player had to be under 6-2.

Reese was drafted 22nd."

That means even Lebron didn't get invited this young or anyone else really.

there was one 14 year old eighth grader who was playing in the the ABCD camp and hanging with oj mayo, dunked on him a couple times too. Dude reminded me of a 6'3 dwayne wade. Had a fully developed body at 14. Can't remember his name off the top of my head though.

That's impressive, but it only serves to make me think less of OJ Mayo... I don't care who you are, you can't let some 14 year old dunk on you...

Lance Stephenson hung with OJ Mayo but didn't dunk on him, get it right. He never dunked on Oj Mayo, in fact it was Mayo giving him the business.

I have to agree with this statement. If the kid is ranked as the #1 prospect for 2012 then obviously he's that good, but the video did just about diddly squat for actually showcasing that fact.

if he is only 5"7 and 13 thats just too short. My little cuz is a top 25 player in JErsey for the class of 2011(current freshman) and he is 6"3 and im trying to turn him from a wing to a pg because im not sure if he will grow.

check out this dude if you wanna see talent, a little raw but he could an NBA All Star: Derrick Rose

Next Jordan...

Can we calm down to find the next phenom at an early age. Really it shouldn't be until high school until you can tell. Kids at an early age like 12 or 13 honestly have very little athletism, so the thing that seperates them could be something as simple being a superb ball handler at that time.

Michael J is far from a phenom, but is a very talented young prospect, he did max out at 6'0 ft, not your ideal PG size for this next gen of PGs 6'3 seems to be the magic number. 4 star prospect not, bad probably needs 3 or 4 year in college but who knows maybe he can make it to the NBA.

The future has come. These guys were big time future NBA players the day the stepped on a high school hardwood.

Derrick Rose: 1st overall pick ROY 18.7 ppg 3.8 rebs first 2 seasons
OJ Mayo: 3rd overall pick ROY runner up 18.0 3.8 rebs first 2 seasons

USA Team Showcase:

Derrick Rose: 15 points 3 rebounds 8 assists
OJ Mayo: 18 points 7 rebounds 3 assists

Neither one of these guys will be better point guards than Chris Paul, better player and impact player maybe, but point guard no they just don't see the floor like he does.

The best PG of the Nex Gen is none other than Tony Wroten Jr 6'6 PG

So he's a 6'0 PG with enough athleticism to get him to the rim. Hmmm seems like I've heard that a million times. This kid is nothing special. Tony Wroten will be much better.

He has to make a quantum leap from now to his first year in college to be a one and doner. 4 star recruits are almost never one and done they usually require more time to develope at the college level, then the ones who make that leap like Evan Turner are lottery picks.

Since 08 draft the NBA has been littered with guards mostly pgs and not enough bigs. Come 2013 when the 2012 class finish their first year in college, all the guys for 08, 09, 10 will already be in their primes, and they are a lot of them.

I hope that the 2012 bigs are legit, we need good big men in the NBA.

Right now he isn't, just a talent young prospect, but with a lot of work he can be.

With Tony Wroten, this is a big year for him. He dropped to #16 in the country because he was out the previous year with a torn ACL. If he gets it together he could finish in the top 5 imo. Then join the circus act called Kentucky

Marquis Teague #1 PG in the country
Tony Wroten # 2 PG in the county
Michael Gilchrist #1 overall player in the country.

I'm still hoping that Wroten goes to Washington. Dude is a beast. If he grows a little more, he could be a really special player(even moreso than he is now). He could be 6'7-6'8 in shoes by the time he get's to the league. I believe he is 18 now. I kept growing until age 20 so ya never know..

And yeah, Cal get's whoever he wants. I bet those kids are gonna be one-and-done guys as well. Washington is probably what his family/friends want, but it must be pretty hard to turn down Kentucky and their great basketball program.

Wroten doesnt turn 18 until next April. He is still 17. Right now he is 6'6 in shoes, so he is the same height as Tyreke Evans. He could easily get to 6'8 I believe.

Washington still has Isaiah Thomas. That would be a great backcourt Thomas and Wroten.

However, this is a great thread your not a phenom until your at least 15 years old. 4 star high school players arent phenoms
