Well, for one, I have no source of income and I'm completely broke. by April, I should have a job, and I'll have all this money that I saved up from hannukah/new years/birthday, whatever.. And I heard that the price will plummet to 299 by that time, so it will make things a lot easier for me. I'm stuck with a Wii currently, and I can't play sports games on that because of how absolutely sh!tty they look. Here's some screenshots of Madden 10 for the Wii...

And I understand about being broke. I just been putting a little bit of money from each pay check to the side so I could get a PS3. But I wouldn't hold my breath about a $100 price cut. They said that was supposed to happen last year too. It'd be awesome if there was a price cut, and I'm sure there will be one, prolly right after I buy my PS3. I just hope I don't have any problems with it b/c I'm sick of hearing about all these Red Ring of Death for the 360 and yellow ring of death or whatever for the PS3. Madden games have been hyped like this every single years since EA monopolized football game, and all saps and suckers still have fallen into EA's traps every single years.
I haven't fallen into anything before, until this year, but this year I think it's going to be different.

The hypes have been just stupid things like different new themes each year, like the QB vision, the blocking ability and so on.

This year, they have so many new things and have made the biggest leap from one year to the next.


Unless EA is BSing more this year than ever before (which I hope not and if this game sucks, I'll never buy another Madden again), then I fully expect the GOAT football video games.

I LOVE the new ratings. Last year it seemed like EVERY single team had at least 5 players with 90 ratings. This year it's much different and more realistic.

Now there will be ACTUAL mismatches and you will actually have to know more about football and how to manage game situations. Before, in previous Madden's, you could have a 70 rating CB covering a 99 rating WR and there would be no major mismatch. That won't be the case now. If you're CBs aren't great and your opponent has a great WR, you're going to have to constantly double or shade him with a safety.

It's going to be insane. I'm buying a PS3 just for this game. Of course I'll buy more games, but if I didn't think Madden 10 was going to be sick, I wouldn't bother buying a PS3 now.

Your joking right? :roll: :roll: :roll: How has Manning been on a decline? 2006 he won the superbowl, 2007 he lost his #1 receiver and half of his team and still lead the colts to a 13-3 record and against the chargers, he was one of the few players the show up. 2008 he was MVP. I know disparity is part of the game, but having a player like Zach Thomas rated at 90 last year compared to Patrick Willis at 90 something is ridiculous. That's a personal insult to Willis. I hate how in 09 if i see a receiver in between two defenders 20 yards away from my guy its a crap shoot to get him the ball. If I rocket pass it, the qb seems to not to throw it high enough to clear the first DB (or the DB has 10 ft verts :confusedshrug: ) or if I lob the ball in both DBs will have more than enough time to get to my receiver and either bat the ball down or an int.

Hey I need your advice- I loved Madden football for sega genesis but haven't really played it since (once or twice for the subsequent console generations). I'm not really an NFL guy, I watch the bears when they're on and the playoffs/superbowl, that's about it. If i get this game am I going to be so far behind everyone that I'll never be competitive or is it fairly easy to pick up? Is it really f*cking fun too or is it a little repetitive and being an NFL fan makes it fun?

Well try out the demo. It shouldn't be too bad and it has a pretty simple gameplay scheme. You may be confused at first but you will get used to it.

Unfortunately they didn't fix the challenge part. But from what I hear they improved a lot of the game. Better pockets, every QB has his own throwing motion and release, the defense don't have eyes in the back of their heads anymore, up to 9 man gang-tackling, online franchise, and more this was just on stop of my head.

You will definately be behind. The way you played Madden back in the day? You will not be able to play today. Thats with most sports games. The AI is better. The gameplay is better. There are more controls to toy with. And by that not just buttons but pre snap adjustments on offense and defense. Being able to figure out what to use, when and how? Could be beneifial in your game playing. Why? Your opponent most likely will be doing pre snap defensive adjustments as well.

Its nothing you cant handle/get adjusted too. It takes time. Gotta be patient and also try to get rid of some of old ways to playing Madden (since its been so long for you). Bad habits is what i call them. Like i played an old friend of mine. We used to as kids, high schoolers go at it in NBA Live/Madden you name it. I didnt get into gaming since Sega much. Ps2 i got late and only played Madden/GTA San Andreas...so when i decided to get my 360 last year? I played him in NBA2k8. And he even said he could notice me trying to play like I used to back in the day. That the AI is much improved from earlier playing days. Some of the things that worked for me back then? Didnt now.

So you'll find that out...again nothing you cant get adjusted too. But the long layoff for you? Then jump into the new Madden on a newer system? Going to practice mode isnt a bad thing. I used to laugh...practice mode? WTF, please. Now? Nah. Get familiar with your team, the players and can develop a nice gameplan. Toy with the audibles (change them to what you like), pre snap adjustments etc etc.

You're going to be at a disadvantage if you hopped online and played someone. But you'll get used to it after awhile. It is simple even if my long ass post makes it seem complex. But from what i hear this Madden 10 to those who got it early? Rates high. And for Madden thats a good thing because it hasnt been the amazing series as it once was.

The game is pretty hot, I had it since saturday the only thing I would say is that if you control your wide reciever on the deep ball (especially with randy) it's almost a guarenteed catch and the passing >>> the run game by a big enough margin & the ratings matter but not as much as they should but overall i'd say it's a must get. btw everyone plays online with the Eagles, Cards, Vikings or the Raiders so be prepared for that.

The Franchise for this game is completely broken.. It slightly improved from last year and the franchise mode is a complete ****. It's sad because EA makes a horrible franchise mode on purpose so people are force to buy NFL head coach where you make the decisions of the team by drafting, signing, basically a GM they also took out create play-book, audibles and other stuff the the current GM had because of Head coach.. Madden 2008 for regular XBOX had a better franchise mode then the next gen.. If madden 2010 franchise is good people don't buy head coach but if it's bad people get head coach. The Gameplay is good but I'm still pissed that the Franchise mode is **** cause I thats were I spend my time on.

Just got back from my boys house. Been playing since 2PM. Played about 10 games with 7 minute quarters. This is by far the most realistic Madden game to date and easily the best sports game I've ever played. The gameplay is vastly improved.

Come on.....comparing Madden to Blitz? That game was a joke....

A lot of people like All Pro for the online play but choose Madden for anything else. I like Madden for the simple fact that there isn't one certain thing cheapskates can do to cheat. Screens and excessive QB scrambling can be eliminated so one person won't have the edge. Also, you really notice the difference between the different players/teams/offense/defense and it is as close to real life as I have seen. Madden 09 is a great game....sounds like 2010 is 10x better...

This is the real deal. The gameplay is slower and feels so real. The player ratings are far more accurate. You can't just throw bombs into double/triple coverage and expect elite WR's to come up with catches. You are forced to exploit match ups, run a balance attack, etc. QB sneaks are way more accurate. It really is the most realistic sports game ever released.

I think the game is ok. The Franchise still sucks, it's easy too pass and hard to defend the pass. I did notice that you can actually pass the ball deep, you can get pressure on the QB which was impossible last yr. Playing defense is still kind of hard though.

i was much better at 09' need to get used to this game, the passing game is so much different and precise passing hardly ever works, even throwing with brady aiming is tough. and if the game has bad weather, forget about throwing at all, with anyone they throw it 50 yards away from the button you press.

i'm not a football guy and i haven't played madden since the sega genesis era basically but I think it's really fun (it looks amazing on ps3, the giant HD TV is nice too, my 12 year old self would cream in his pants if he could see this). I can't stop turning the ball over and I lose every game by one score, i always have a drive to tie or win at the end and fail. devin hester is my dude, almost worth them scoring so you can return the kickoffs with his ass. my first game i had a 106 yard TD return. I'm not sure how to find you guys online but maybe i'll try later when i've had a little more practice

I think EA is intending for the exact opposite...

once the Madden geeks find out how to effectively defend the pass then the weaker players will be screwed...

this game generates big tournies and I would think that the very last thing EA would want to do is limit how good a player can be...

Pass defense is pretty hard.. It's also hard to blitz because the blitzers take way too long to reach the QB and the linemen make perfect pickups. It's better then last year but it's still hard. Also all Slants/cuts are impossible to stop..

From what I can tell so far, the MLB's are the key to the defensive attack as far as both pass rush and coverage. If you can align the defensive line so that each lineman on one side is occupied, the MLB can sneak through and apply pressure to force an errant pass. Also, if you keep the MLB right on the line of scrimmage without blitzing, you can basically hide him behind the trenches and then deflect or intercept the short slant or crossing route. It also leaves him in good position to defend the run or the pass to the flats.

One question I have is, a lot of times the ballcarrier gets hit and starts to spin off but about three-quarters of the way through the turn he falls down... is there any way (right analog stick, B, etc.) to try and maintain the player's balance and keep him going? I always have hope that I am going to break one of those, but I am always disappointed when he goes down.

Pass defense is ****ing insane even against the CPU. Matt Sanchez was looking like Elway against me. With the subs you have to press RB(XBOX) on the certain position you want to sub and press A to click on the player. It will stay like that until you take him out.

It's not as good as people say it is. The gameplay improved but the Franchise still hasn't. They also missed out on features that were available on the current gen systems like Create-a-playbook, audible in the franchise screen, in-season progression.

Chris Johnson is insane speed wise. But he can be contained. And Adrian Peterson? I got that achievement. Really not hard to stop Adrian Peterson. Then again I was the Steelers. All I did was blitz, most of the times Blitz Troy P and bam...got it. And i didnt let the computer do it, I switched to the DE after the snap, shed the block and popped him. Or switched to Troy P blitzing.

An achievement tough to get atleast so far in 2 tries? Making Tomlinson fumble. B.Westbrook is a weak ball carrier...fumbles alot. He is good running and screen plays? Sweet, but you make a big gain and pop him once? Fumble.

The achievements imo are a joke but given some people cheat to get them? I like how they are set up...wish they made some specifically for All Madden. Not that All Pro is easy.

Another tough achievement? Playing GB in Lambeau field with heavy snow. It's also fun as hell and so realistic to see guys slipping especially if you overpusue with your DB covering a pass or WR even. QB slips droppin back, QB slips steppin in throw...not all the times but often. Awesome.

Use My Skill difficulty, the CPU will play worse or stronger based on good you are, its provides a good challenge.

Ok so I started a Franchise with the Niners and signed Chris Mcalister so stopping the pass has gotten easier (Nate Clements and Chris Mcalister) are both good. I also put down the CPU's pass block b/c it really is hard to put pressure sometimes. I put it down to 45 and I'm able to get the coverage sack and a few sacks off of blitzes.

Running the ball is easy for me. I originally had it at 12 but I think i'm gonna bump it up to to all madden (15) because I'm getting 150+ yards easily.

Also its so cheap to dump passes to rb's and having a fast TE is cheap. Vernon Davis speed is crazy in the game (88 speed) and no one can keep up with him especially on cuts. I can't do **** with Crabtree though.

One thing that bothers me is the drop INT's. My players drop the easiest things and the computer player drops them as well. Seriously I could make those catches and I've had a play where the ball was boggling for a good 5 seconds before it d dropped the floor.

Dude there are passes that go straight to a defender's hands and they drop them. There are other plays where the ball is in the air for a 2-3 seconds and the CB's are playing hot potato with the ball. This was an issue in last year's game as well. It annoys me.

Don't play preseson games.. Don't bother wasting your time.

When you run don't press turbo quickly especially on Tosses/outside runs cause you will outrun your blockers and run into defenders, wait for you blockers on tosses then use your speed. Don't use turbo automatically and look for the hole shift out of the hole if it's clogged, etc. Use the right thumbstick for moves, you can juke with it or hitstick the **** out of some one with it. Also use spin(B button). I never use stiff arms and I think it only works for power backs i don't know.

you can juke left, right, or the do the famous Reggie Bush stop n go.

you can also slide your offensive line over. Usually when im running towards the left, i shift my line that way and vice versa for the right. And when im on a goalline situation, i pinch the offensive line and power my way in by pushing the hitstick upward

But he's saying that you should wait for your blockers to block and not your blockers. Once your blockers get some key blocks, hit the turbo and use your juke/spin/stiff arm moves.

Hold the r trigger for speed, theirs no boost or anything.

Why not? Buy it and figure it out. Its going to be a roster update from last year. Look, I dont buy new video games anymore. They are a waste of money. I realized that. Time for me to grow up. 60 dollars a pop is way too much.

Just take your XBox and a television to your office where the modem is for the draft and hook it up.... then when you get the money go buy a wireless adapter or a big ass ethernet cable that will reach down stairs.

Or just take your XBox and Television to your office when you want to play.

You can even hook the XBox to your computer screen and go from there if you don't have a portable television.
