Devean George wasn't going to see any playing time in Toronto. He stinks and to me is pretty much done in the NBA.

Belinelli isn't anything great but clearly more productive at this point than George and is only 23 years old. He'll get some minutes on the Raptors since the only people he'll have to compete with are Derozan and Wright.

I guess GS is just clearing up room and minutes for the rest of their backcourt players? Whatever. It's a win in terms of value and talent for the Raptors. Thanks Golden State.

This almost seems to good to be true, massive steal for the Raptors as George really didn't figure into this years plans at all. Belinelli, while inconsistant, has shown some positive things in his short NBA career, at 23 years old and a position of need, it's yet another underrated move by Raptors management this offseason, well done.

I like that the Raptors now have an SG that can actually handle the ball. I don't think we Raptors fans have seen that since Vince.

There's also no immediate pressure to sign Carlos Delfino either. I think I'd still rather have Delfino than Belinelli in terms of fit for the rest of the roster (better defense and rebounding) but whatever, it's not a big difference either way.

Dumb trade. The warriors should have at least got a pick for him. They could have got more than Devean George. Steal by the Raptors. They needed a shooter after trading Kapono for Evans.

He's pretty athletic and has a great offensive arsenal:

If this was Dev O of 2000 I would say it was a great fit for the GSW, but I do not know that he can get up and down the floor the way he used to. And I do not know much about this cat they gave up for him. Sounds like a decent prospect.

Man, it's hard being a Warriors fan.

Hell of a lot of guards on that roster, someone has to go. In the Warriors' defense they gave up what they saw as the most unproven guy at the 2. Although they're still rolling with 5 point guards at the moment aren't they?

Still, they certainly could've gotten a little more for Belinelli. I can see how it's gotta be a roller coaster ride being an Oakland sports fan.

What in the hell are the Warriors thinking? I was just watching a Blazers vs Warriors game I downloaded where the Warriors broadcasters mentioned that the fans love Bellinelli as much as Portland fans love Rudy Fernandez.

Why would you trade a player like that for old as Devean George. The really must have no room for him.

Really like this move for the Raps.

Trade away a guy who was going to occupy the end of the Raps bench for a young player with serious upside who can contribute.

For those who wanted the Raps blown up last year.... it's been done.

are you kidding me though? where the **** was walsh in this? belinelli is goin to be good. im talking number 2 option good.

I don't agree with the bold. But he's a cheap player and he has a team option for over 2 mill next season. I would of loved to see him on the Knicks with Galo.

Nice trade for the Raptors. They have nothing to lose by making this trade. If he he doesn't pan out, they simply will not exercise the team option next year.

Wow, I would have traded Devean George for a bowl of Chex mix. And I hate Chex mix.

Bellinelli is young and will be part of the rotation, George is old and wouldn't have played. Whether Bellinelli is a permanent piece or not is irrelevant, because George definitely wasn't.

Confusingly one-sided trade, in favour of the Raptors, unless there's a second rounder or some cash involved that we haven't heard about.

Most likely enough to buy him out. This trade was strictly about freeing space at the guard position AND freeing up some cap space. Good trade for GS also (even though they are losing a talented guard).

Bellinelli won me over in that game he played vs. Raptors in GS this year. Don't care if it was just a flash but he's talented and considering what we got him for...this deal is sweet. He's passing ability is pretty underrated and I think he can do a decent job creating (rare for anyone other than Calderon to be able to do this). Word. I wish Toronto could've snagged him somehow too. No way he's a Warrior for long either way, with how good Randolph is starting to look.

And if I'm not mistaken, Toronto sent George plus the 1.9 million he's owed next season. So I guess they can keep him for no cost or waive him and put the money somewhere else.

I think Colangelo has done a good job in returning the Raptors to where they were a couple of years ago and made the playoffs (Bargnani's rookie season).

They have some decent depth now with the additions of Rasho and Bellinelli.

DeRozan I think will be good in time.

They return to the 2-PG set-up with Calderon/Jack, which I like. I think that system was key to the Raptors success in the past before last year's step back.

DeRozan I think will be good in time.

They return to the 2-PG set-up with Calderon/Jack, which I like. I think that system was key to the Raptors success in the past before last year's step back.
yea i really wanna believe that the raps will make it far but i'm gonna be a pestimst because last year i was soo excited for J.O., J.O. is broken i mean that in no disrespect, the dude is a shadow of his former self ever since that injury. B4 we start making playoff predictions lets wait till the season starts.

well ONEAL was never the problem it was just because the raptors lacked depth and a decent start in the SF and SG positions

and also calderon was injuried throughout the season

if the raptors had this lineup now + oneal they would be amazing

I like Belinelli a lot. I love SG's who can pass the ball.

This Raptors team is very solid and can make some noise in the east.

I'm still wondering who would start at the shooting guard position. Would it be Belinelli? If it is, then the backcourt would lack defense...but non the less, we have more depth now than last year.
