Party Pass going fast

The $29 Party Pass seems like a hit. According to the Cowboys they sold 13,000 for their Sept. 20 opener against the New York Giants in the first six hours they were available on Monday.

Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones said the decks in each end zone can hold from 15,000 to 35,000. The Cowboys' goal is to have more than 100,000 inside the stadium against the Giants.

Figuring the ticket total of around 72,000 for the $1.15 billion stadium, they're up to 85,000 with more than six weeks to go before the game.

Party Pass tickets might push Cowboys Stadium capacity past 100,000

The far right of the photo is where I will be standing... Because for $29 I don't get a seat... But as long as I just get inside the stadium, I could care less. Besides, tickets for a cheap seat are going for $180 right now.

The game is on Sunday Night Football (Football Night in America)... The first Regular Season Game in the new stadium... and I will be there.

This might be a stupid question, but won't those screens above the field interfere with punts and kicks?

You better not hope you get their late and are pushed back so you cant see the field.

And, I'd rather just watch this from home.

Football is much better on TV.

But I guess you get to say you atteded the first game there so congrats.

No, on the tour I went on, the tour guide said the Cowboys had Mat McBriar come out and kick 100 balls and they measured them.

I hope so..It would be an epic fail if a punter comes along with a huge boot and hits the screen.

sounds good, but who would want to stand in a crowd of 15 - 35k people? Standing at a football game doesnt sound fun at all, sounds more like a party area with limited viewing. Hope you have fun though!

I don't see what a big deal to stand in a crowd because look at the college basketball game, almost all the crowd are standing up.

Now that would be a pointless ticket to purchase... If you are sitting up on the third or fourth level.

I know a few people that are going to the NBA All-Star game in 2010... That seems like a waist of money.

this f*ckin stadium is gonna be just crazy...

it is too bad that they have adjusted the prices to where the crowd will be nothing but white collar rich dudes...

I can already see girls showing up to the game wearing high heels...:( ...(amazingly that is a bad thing somehow)

100,000 people and I am betting it won't be that "rowdy" at all...

Ha I'm playing. I definitely think the Cowboys will beat the Gints. They'll be amped up for the season/stadium opener. Plus the Gals usually come out of the gates strong and come December play poorly (recent years).

It would be a funny scenario (for me) if the Cowboys got obliterated and Jerry Jones snap fired Wade Phillips after week 1.

if I am going it will not be on a party pass...

I don't trust that just yet, he doesn't know what he is getting into...

I think there could be a chance he might be stuck standing up for 4 hours watching the jumbotron without a view of the feild...

there is a reason those things are just $29...and a really crappy "seat" is $180...

no offense Dooms, you already know my views on that though and I could be dead wrong...I just want to know exactly what that is first...I guess the first preseason game could give you an idea...

the first game of the season is one that I want to make sure I will be able to see...

and as far as the economic problems go this stadium was in the works long before we ever had any problems...so there is your answer for that...

Besides... I'm still kinda slim (I'm not a 300 lb fat @ss that has no chance in hell of working his way to the front row.)

But yea Gundress... I'm gonna go with a couple of friends. I have a feeling that we will all be split up durring the game because if i spot an empty chair in the stadium, and I can sneak my way to that seat, I will not hesitate to watch the entire game by myself.

$200 for a horrible seat is not something I'm willing to pay for in these harsh economic times.

I will not buy an $8.00 Hot Dog ( I learned my lesson on that last time I went to the Rangers Game)

I will not buy a $9.00 beer (I can buy 12 beers for that price after the game)

I will not spend $60 for parking... and that is the going rate. I can walk or take the bus.

I will pay $29 dollars to get inside in the stadium and have a decent chance to watch the game, and at the very least, I will be in the atmosphere

Lets say the average person spends $500 at the stadium (factor in all the rich folks, parking, food, beer, tickets, and merchandice)

100,000 x 500 = $50,000,000 x 8 games = $400,000,000

(That aint $hit if you think about it)

yes it is, that is more than 1/3rd the price of the stadium...

factor in the Super Bowl next year...

the average seat including the rich peeps and luxury suites and all that would probably be close to $3,000...

100,000 x $3k = $300,000,000...(almost as much as the whole damn year)

that Super Bowl was a really big reason that stadium was made...

plus all the concerts (that have already happened)...NBA All Star game..ect...

sick to think that doesn't even include the television revenue and merchendise sales...

Okay... But that isn't the net income...

factor in the thousands of employees that have to be paid, electricity, Cowboys payroll, staff pay roll, and the hundreds of other expenses I can't think of right now...

The Cowboys payroll is already at $100,000,000 million. (I think.)

yeah, well I think usually the idea is to have it paid off in 15 years or so...(tax payers paid a large chunk too you know)

most people sign a 30 year morgage buying a home, but typically you would want a 15 year deal...

Texas stadium was made in 1971 for just $35 million...

the jumbotron in Cowboy's Stadium was $40 million...:oldlol:
