The OFFICIAL Insidehoops Dunk Contest

Alright, all of you ISHiots who brag that they can hoop it up, this is your time to shine.

I got this idea from lilojmayos legend thread, so heres how it works.

We get as many ISHiots as possible(4 at the minimum) and do a dunk contest, the rules

-NBA rim height only. Dunking on a kiddy rim? No.
-Before each dunk, each dunker must hold up a sign that says "Insidehoops #1" on it, to verify you didnt just take it off someone elses channel or something
-Done a 360 before and its on your channel with 15,000 views? Cool story, bro, but that will not count. All dunks will have to be newly put out, nothing from what you already have.
-Round 1 will have each dunker do 4 dunks. But remember, dont waste your betweenthelegs360offthebackboard dunk as your first dunk, use your brain. I will let you know of the other rounds once I have the competitors finalized.

I will need 3-5 other judges aside from myself.

All the videos will be put on Youtube, and each judge will judge it from there. So to do it you will need a camera(please make sure the quality is good and not really grainy and crappy), a ball, a hoop, and some hops.

There is no age requirement. If you are 12 and can dunk on a legit rim? Well, you probably dont belong on ISH, but feel free to join. If you are old, but can throw it down, please join. And there is no skill requirement. If you are a local playground legend, so what? If you are in the NBA? So what(yeah, like that'll happen).

Oh, and if I dont know of you as a dunker, please submit a small tape showing a few dunks and whatnot.

There is going to be a 48 hour registration period(unless its hard to find competitors, then i will stretch the time), and the dunks will have a 24 hour period. If you miss your time, then you get a 0 for that set of dunks.

And tell your friends who are good to join this, your post count or rep bar doesnt matter.

Prizes are TBD.

So join up, and ask any questions that need asking. Judges will be picked by myself, so if you wanna judge, post here, too.

If I can get back into LA Fitness in Cherry Hill NJ I'll put up a vid, I get the most bounce on their hardwood for some reason. I can't do anything nice though. On my best day I can catch and 1 hand a bounce pass alley oop, and do a standard 1 legged 1 hand dunk. No, because I say he is going to win a dunk contest hands down, especially if he can just pick his best one. I've seen some unseen dunks he has shown me and he can fly trust me on that one. He was clearly injured in that video, but that isn't the lilojmayo i have seen in some of the dunks he has shown me and it is in the same exact gym. lilojmayo said he will never show his best for ISH or anybody that doesn't know him. He said the haters will just get disappointed.

Your handles are even better than the last time you posted a video, and I was impressed then. There is no doubt you can score the basket, I liked how you stayed with it on that missed windmill layup and tip it in. That's show an alert player.

Problem is your shot. Yes, you have range on your shot, but the form is terrible. In my opinion it is worse than shawn marion since no 2 shots are the same.


I just say what i see. His shot form sucks. He can knock them down though.

This contest might as well be a glorified lay-up or trick shot contest rather than a dunk contest given how so few ppl can even dunk in the first place let alone well. If you can barely touch 11 feet, then I doubt u can do very impressive dunks. And I seriously doubt anyone can dunk from the freethrow line on ISH.

Besides, all this contest has accomplished is expose who is an exaggerator of their athletic ability. Why haven't those folks who claim to have over 36 inch verticals shown any signs of participation? This probably isn't going to be very impressive dunk contest.

I was at the basketball gym from 11AM til 2PM today. At the end everyone left except for 1 guy so we just shot 10 3s from 5 different spots on the floor. I ended up goin 7 of 10 from 4 spots and 8 of 10 from 1 spot. Thats 36 of 50, I need to do some work and hopefully get to 45-50 at least before I will be ready for our shootout.

Sounds good. lilojmayo gave his camcorder back to his dad but hopefully he buys a new one soon so I can record in HD. If worse comes to worse, Ill just use my digital camera which wont be in super good quality but it should get the job done.

This seems legit I'm down. Only problem is I have mid terms this week I can't make it to the gym for this week. My last mid term is NEXT Tuesday, there is open gym on Thursday, so I'll go then. Probably have the video up by Friday.

Juggling an overnight job, school, and a girlfriend leaves little time for the gym these days. Thus, I'm in no shape to be entering a dunk contest. Even in prime shape I wouldn't be doing anything mind-blowing because I'm only 5'9". Plus I'm a 2-foot jumper, which vastly limits the possibilities for variety...especially at my height.
