Great comeback by the Lakers without doubt but people talk like this was the game winning play.:confusedshrug:

Suggestions to other overrated plays?

It was still awesome though. I love how Shaq didn't even say good pass and just ran down and ignored the guy that set it up for him.

Agreed. "The Shot That Saved Cleveland" :oldlol:

It was bad defense on Orlando's part. A nice shot but nice shots happen all the time.

The Kobe/Shaq lob is one of the greatest plays in NBA history to me. It wasnt the game winner but it was just...huge. The most hyped team in the NBA...with the MVP/best player, the next Jordan, Jordans coach, a 67 win season, and down 15 in the 4th of game 7? Come all the way back and what caps it? Baby Jordan breaks Scottie Pippens ankles and throws up that insane lob...too high..and his semi rival big brother goes up like 12 feet to get it....bangs it down. Crowd goes wild. Shaq loses his mind. Finals sealed. Pacers no match for them. That play was basically the Lakers locking up the title.

It wasnt a game winner but its gonna be way more remembered than any actual game winner from that team. **** I think Kobe hit a game winner over Kidd in those playoffs that nobody even cares about anymore.

The Shaq/Kobe lob is the signature moment of a dynasty. Kinda like Bird stealing it from Isiah. Not only was that not the title winning play...it wasnt even the series winning play. It was game 5 and they lost game 6. It was a series saving play kinda but compared to Birds game winner in the finals over Magic or Dennis Johnsons.....its not that major a play. I mean..they beat the pistons but lost in the finals so they didnt even really win anything as a result of it. But its the most well known play of Larrys career because of how it went down.

Its legendary. Kobe to Shaq is legendary.

Yeah that moment is a little overrated, Kobe's shot against Howard was in the context of it was very possibly more difficult to pull off, Jordan's moment was just "bigger".

Kobe Bryant's falling, double-clutch banker over the Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard, who was all over him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMwbsQPr780&feature=channel_page

Kobe's shot was way more difficult

But the only problem with Kobe's shot was that it was Mike Breen and his dead commentary that called the play

If it was Marv Albert giving the "Oh! A Spectacular Move by Kobe Bryant!!!" then it would've not just looked better but also sounded better

As much as people don't realize Marv's commentary on Jordan's move made it even more special than it already is

"Havlicek steals it! Havlicek stole the ball!"

Great call by Johnny Most.

Greer practically threw the ball to Havlicek, he just had to reach over a bit, and more importantly, Walker was just standing there. He wasn't even moving! He was just waiting for the ball to come to him.

I don't think it's overrated because it was done for the 1st time, because it wasn't. The Dr. himself has performed better dunks than the one vs Cooper. But it was an already big game (you can't compare Lakers vs Phili to today's Miami vs some random team), Erving was 33 and past his prime, still executed the dunk without ever needing to use his other hand in the slightest, Cooper was a great and fearless defender who, in the end, looked like a chicken, Chick Hearn was broadcasting, the combination of all these make for a memorable play.

Stringer Bell

I'm less impressed with dunks in which the guy getting dunked on in smaller. Like Dr. J said, "you dunk the ball over a little guy, well, you're supposed to. You dunk on a guy 6'11, 7 feet, he's got something to think about".

Lebron has about 4 inches and 50 lbs on Damon Jones. Chris Webber is about half a foot taller than Charles Barkley, and 10 years younger.
