I think you would agree with me to put Arvydas Sabonis on that list, 'cause I don't remember another 7'3" guy hitting three's like he did.

I don't get it. For example isn't Okur a better shooter than Ewing?? Define a shooter please.

Still stick with my mention of Sikma though. He had one of the best touches for a big ever and was the god father of guys like Laimbeer, Rik Smits, Okur, etc.

Forgot about him. One of the quickest releases ever. He definitely deserves a mention.

Define shooting touch?
Sabonis, Richmond and Okur all have great shooting touches, and more range than some players being mentioned.

I interpreted it as form because of the players he chose... Maybe he'll explain when he comes back in to his own thread :confusedshrug:
Edit: Having another look at it, I'm not quite sure what he's on about...

Good list so far. I definitely agree with Price, Ray Ray, Mullin, Kobe, Drazen, Nash and Peja.
Glen Robinson had a beautiful touch from mid-range out to the 3-point line, I'd add him.

Wilt had a good Jump shot? Okur and Hakeem Definitely have as good of Jumpers as Ewing. i'm rather confizzulated.

No way.
Ewing made a living on that jumper. Hakeem is more of a post threat and Okur is just not in the same category. He's a fringe all-star Ewing was a superstar.

Maybe not Hakeem, but Okur is in this league because of his Jumper. He would not start, or maybe even play at all if not for the fact he can hit a 3 pointer and stretch the floor. Okur doesn't even play in the post to often. I'm not saying Okur was a better player, but there are lots of bigmen with better jumpshots than Ewing. Sam Perkins probably had a better jumpshot too.

Why are Perkins and Okur better jumper shooters then Ewing if Patrick made more at a higher percentage?
Just because they could shoot the three?

If you can prove he made more at a higher percentage, than yeah hes a better jumpshooter. But I don't think there is anywhere where you could find Ewings jumpshot %. Okur however, we can.

He shoots a 44%, and 47% of his shots are jumpers.

I'm basing it on the fact that Ewing's primary shot was his jumper and he shot a higher percentage then Okur.
The precentage proves nothing unless the difference is staggering.
Ewing was the focal point of an offense taking almost all guarded shots, Okur is the third option.

Ok, I get that, but whether he is a better player or not has nothing to do with how good his jumper is. And you say the % doesn't matter, unless and its stagering, but you also say you basing his jumpshot is better on his %.

Best way to sum up my points on why I believe Ewing was a better jump shooter.
1.He took more difficult shots because teams were trying to take him away first.
2. He was primarily a jump shooter like Okur and averaged more points at a higher percentage.
3. Percentages are a great barometer but don't tell the whole story. Unles Okur is like 6-8% better on jumpers I still think Ewing gets the nod.

However one chooses to define such. And Ewing be the best jump shooting center who ever lived.
