And as one first-quarter sequence between Garnett and Yi Jianlian illustrated, that intensity was in high gear.

After toying with the Chinese 7-footer in the first quarter both inside and outside, Garnett demonstrably shoved Yi's arms aside and began bodying him up during a dead ball. The replacement refs quickly separated them, but as soon as they cleared away, Garnett immediately went back at Yi and bodied him up some more, raising his hands high in the air while pushing him from behind with his body -- the sort of flashpoint moment that would have earned Garnett a technical foul from a more seasoned official.

"I don't know him, he don't know me. It wasn't nothing personal," Garnett explained, comparing the incident to an episode he had with Luis Scola of Houston in Boston's first preseason game Wednesday.

This is honestly the one thing I don't like about KG. I love his fierce intensity, but sometimes he just takes it too far. Especially with the young point guard taunting. He kind of looks ridiculous out there sometimes. I love everything else he brings to the table though

People noticed back in Minnesota as well. Just not as many, because not many people watch the Wolves compared to the Celtics. Add that to the fact that people hate the Celtics anyway.

Its just mind games for KG. He places getting in players heads above looking like a jerk. Thats his choice. Timmy D will just school you without changing expression. Shaq will just get angry, elbow you in the throat and smash a dunk. KG uses his mouth. All different and effective ways to get in the opposition's heads. Some more 'respectable' than others. He's also just trying to play the bad guy these days. Nobody is gonna hit him, so it doesn't really matter. He is finesse player, if someone was gonna hit him he'd shut his mouth. It's just all part of the game.

At least for me, I've always known about this attitude, and never liked it. But he really is a great player and thought (still think) he deserved a ring.

Now that he has it, I feel the urge to have someone shut him up. Doesn't change the fact that I think of him as a great player, as it doesn't changes that I never liked those attitudes. And I still wanted someone to shut him up back then. But now that he has his ring, remains that I want him to shut him up.

I agree, and this goes for your favorite Kobe Bryant as well. People waste to much time critiquing players and while they are doing that, they let their prime past them right before their eyes. KG doesn't have much left, Kobe only a few years tops playing amongst the elite. Guys need to really appreciate superstars before they fade away
