Have u gotten games before release date?

Have any of you gotten games before official release dates? Care to share your stories? The store accidentally sold it a few days early, you know someone that knows someone, you found an overturned FedEx truck on its way to Gamestop...etc. Import copies don't count.

If I'm looking to get a game before the release date I check out small "Mom and Pop" stores that sell video games. There's this place around here that usually puts everything on the shelves as soon as they get it.

The last game I got early was Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe.

got a buddy that works at gamestop and he's always got next week releases the weekend before. i've heard microsoft watches out for that kind of thing, but i don't think he's ever had a problem.

I knew a guy in ohio that got me many games ahead of time. How? I have no clue, and I didnt even have to pay since that I did somethings for him too.

i used to get psx and ps2 games way b4 the release date. i knew a guy who got them and sold them cheap. i had GTA San Andreas about 3 months b4 it was out at the stores and bought it for about $20. i had alot of others but i can't remember them.

i also used to have a gagload of Dreamcast and ps2 games copied on discs. i think at one time i had well over 200 DC games.

I got NCAA Football 2005 a week prior to release because my friend worked on the game.

I got Super Mario Galaxy for Wii 2 days before UK release from a website called play.com

I got Grand Theft Auto IV a week early because Best Buy fails at shipping

I used work for PlayStation magazine, we'd get beta copies of games a couple of months before release and nine times out of 10 we'd get a retail copy a couple of weeks before release. Was cool to see how some of the games went from crappy early versions to great finished products, and vice versa.

All the time. In NY there are a bunch of stores, in chinatown, one near my house, in queens that sell as soon as the came comes by Fedex. I got Chinatown wars on DS the Friday before it came out for example. I had Tekken the Saturday prior just recently. I'm pretty sure i can get COD now if i really wanted.
