Dear Blake,

Run. Just start running. Run for your life. Run like the star of a horror movie. Don't turn around. Run and keep running.

I think you should play in Greece. Or Italy. Or Spain. Or anywhere else. You should play anywhere but for the Clippers. Your agents and advisors are in denial. They don't want you to seem like an ungrateful jerk. They want you to be as marketable and likable as possible. They have talked themselves into the following scenario: "If Blake can turn the Clippers around and become a star in the No. 2 TV market in the country, only good things will happen to him." What a dick.

Sucks, but it says up to 6 weeks and the people overreacting here is crazy. Regardles, this opens up plenty of time for Jordan and Rhino, both of which had solid preseason showings, and will give Thornton some time at the 4, where he plays much better as opposed to the 3. Only thing that bothers me about the injury is the fact we are going to wait longer to see Blake out there with the core players and chemistry might be a challange as a result.

Waking_Life
10-27-2009, 04:39 AM
The team is well balanced this season around. They will have a better situation to hang on, regardless of injuries befalling.

RoseCity07
10-27-2009, 04:46 AM
Wow this is horrible news. Believe me, I know what it feels like to get injury news on a player.

Stress fractures are scary. It can take months to heal. Martell Webster missed a whole season. Yao is suppose to miss his whole season.

I really hope it's not that bad. I hope this isn't just a conservative estimate. That it really will only take 6 weeks.

Do Clippers fans walk around spitting on gypsies and disturbing Indian burial grounds? Does Donald Sterling just have a giant room in his mansion full of black cats that he repeatedly crosses paths with? HOw is it possible that this franchise doesn't just have bad luck, but seems to lack anything resembling luck?

I wish Stern could make terrible owners sell... like we can have a fan vote, and league vote. If the owner doesn't agree, don't show up to games!

Why would anyone want to be a Clipper fan? They're still an NBA team no matter the perception. Sure there aren't any titles, but that doesn't mean there's no reason to watch.
-When I've been in Los Angeles it was a common thing to score Clipper tickets on the day of game for pennies on the dollar.
-Following the career of Danny Manning was a treat for any fan of the game.
-Sterling's business philosophy is changing over recent years: Magette and Brand retained as RFA, the Baron Davis Contract, Kaman's extension when the coach was publicly campaigning for it, and the attempt to retain Brand in the summer of 2008.
-Ralph Lawler. A broadcasting style all his own, and any description I could offer just wouldn't do him justice. I'd recommend catching his work while the NBA league pss is free.
-Blake Griffin injury. This is basketball; players get injured.
-How can you blame the Clips for a "bust" like Darius Miles? He was an exciting player to watch while he was here, but how many other organizations had a chance to turn him around?

Edit: meant Sterling*
