I just got a pair of the Vibram FiveFingers KSO, and they are unbelievable. I can't even describe how they feel. Pure joy. I will never wear a pair of regular shoes again. We were born barefoot.

I've been meaning to get a pair of these for a while. Are you using them casually or do you do any running or hiking in them? If so, how do they respond?

I just got my pair today. I plan on using them for walking and running mainly. I just went on a 2-mile run in them and they feel great. My feet are sore from wearing them all day, but thats part of the strengthening process. I would use them hiking though, maybe this spring/summer.
If you are looking get into barefoot running, these are great shoes, extremely comfortable. The KSO Trek that is coming out soon is made for rough terrain, so those would be great for hiking. But the KSO can be used for anything. I suggest you try them on somewhere before you buy, due to the glove-like fit getting the right size is vital. I am a mens 9.5 and I got the mens 41 kso.

I just went for an easy 2-mile run in my vibrams, it felt great. I can't wait to switch to barefoot running when it gets a little warmer. I don't understand why people would run in anything else.

It's not all about looks, and I think they look awesome anyway. You can't even begin to describe how much better these shoes are for your feet compared to regular running shoes.

That is a problem unfortunately. If your second toe is more then 1/4 inch longer you won't be able to get a proper fit. But don't worry, I'm sure they will come out with a solution soon enough :D

Soccer players play on the beach barefoot to strengthen their feet... This is the same thing. Wearing high ankle shoes and such only makes your feet weaker. I'm about to get these.
This is true but these really aren't all that comfortable. I have very tough/strong feet and play frisbee barefoot regularly. They're a cool novelty but really aren't that functional. Vibram is high quality but you'd be better suited buying a pair of merrell's which come equipped with vibram soles.

There is a difference between playing soccer on the beach for a period of time in preseason like soccer players do (and it is not to strenghthen their feet but to strenghen their muscles and gain overall stamina) and running ****ing barefoot on asphalt.

The fivefingers are very comfortable, I doubt any of you guys would ever wear shoes again after trying these on. Why are people still wearing shoes?

Because they're not that comfortable (IMO), and you can run faster in shoes, have more balance, explode better, etc...lol.

I'll admit I don't like to play basketball in the fingers, but don't tell me there not comfortable. They are a glove for your foot, there is nothing there to make them uncomfortable. You just have to get used to wearing them and you will eventually strengthen your feet and be able to run as fast/faster as you do in regular shoes. It takes time.

I've messed around with them like 5x. Maybe I haven't broken them enough. I dig Vibram products hard, I own like 4 pairs of Merrell's but they aren't optimal to me. Yes they strengthen your feet but running barefoot does the same thing. Just my take.

Yea when I first bought them I was really excited about them, and then I realized I mine as well run barefoot. I did that a couple times and realized I needed to strengthen my soles more. I have enjoyed using them during the colder months and when its gets warmer I'm gonna switch to barefoot.

i rarely wear socks/shoes in or around my house. i only do when its too cold to walk on the tiles inside, or if its winter.
but its not very comfortable to skate without shoes...griptape is not very soft.
i work at a skate shop and my manager doesnt care what we do as long as the work gets done, i'm barefoot there sometimes

Just started running in these again, still have my original pair, the soles are still in great shape. I had surgery on my foot last year so I took some time off but it feels great to be back.
After a steady 2 mile run my calves were sore the next day. Running on your forefoot feels so much better than heel striking with regular shoes, it takes awhile to find a rhythm, but once you do it is pure joy.
