My grandpa was a high level freemason he has passed down a crap ton of freemason jewelry to me, and also I learned today he was a member of the Knights of Pythias, all my aunt told me was it was some fraternal group.

Are Knights of Pythias some kind of badass group like the illuminati?

Also because my grandpa was so high up the freemasonry tree, would they let me in and would it be easy for me to ascend the ranks?

Now is the time for you to apply your conspiracy knowledge into real world application

I am not familiar with this group.

The only group of Freemasons I've studied are the Knights of Columbus and I've briefly looked at the Knights of Malta.

From my understanding... The Knights of Columbus are the Bad @ss mother f*ckers on the block. You don't want to mess these folks.

This is interesting:

The Knights of Pythias is a social brotherhood founded at Washington, D.C., February 19, 1864, by Justus Henry Rathbone and four others, to promote the principals of friendship, charity, and benevolence (FCB). The fundamental tenants of the order are "toleration in religion, obedience to law, and loyalty to government." Accepted candidates are advanced through the three ranks or degrees of Page, Esquire, and Knight. Justus Henry Rathbone, who had belonged to three other fraternities - the Sons of Malta, Red Men, and Masonic Lodge, initially prepared the ritual. In 1872, Right Reverend Bishop William Ussher of the Reformed Episcopalian Church, wrote an amplified version of the Knight Degree which featured a journey through Hades; by 1892, this otherworldly sojourn in the realm of Pluto had been translated into a philosophic discourse by Pythagoras.

Theory:
Seems to me that This Brotherhood was founded because of the Civil War. From my understanding, the civil war was a battle between fraternities like this, And it was really about the one fraternity overpowering another. Still happens til' this day, but most people think it's called "Republicans vs. Democrats."

Let me do some more research and I'll see what I can find.

But yea... The Knights of Columbus are the guys you f*ck around with.

And I was right about the Civil War:

Abraham Lincoln and Our Ritual

The Order began, of course, during the Civil War, and its founder believed that it might do much to heal the wounds and allay the hatred of civil conflict. President Abraham Lincoln, being advised of the contents of the ritual and its teaching, said: "The purposes of your organization are most wonderful. If we could but bring its spirit to all our citizenry, what a wonderful thing it would be. It breathes the spirit of Friendship, Charity and Benevolence. It is one of the best agencies conceived for the upholding of government, honoring the flag, for the reuniting of our brethren of the North and of the South, for teaching the people to love one another, and portraying the sanctity of the home and loved ones. I would suggest that these great principles by perpetuated and that you go to the Congress of the United States and ask for a charter, and so organize on a great scale throughout this nation, and disseminate this wonderful work that you have so nobly started. I will do all in my power to assist you in this application and with your work."

The suggestion made by the President was adopted. An application was made to Congress for a charter, and the Order of Knights of Pythias was the first American Order ever chartered by an Act of the Congress of the United States.

In the Order's ritualistic work, every sentence has a meaning and every paragraph a beautiful and inspiring lesson. The flag of the country has an honored place at every meeting and the Holy Bible is the supreme Book of Law. The Order does not seek to shape any man's creed, but Pythianism is the practical application of religious and charitable principles to every day life. We have a heritage of which we are proud and our precepts and teachings lead men to higher ideals of life. We invite like minded men of good character to join us in making these ideals the dominant factor in modern living.

I was wrong about them not being Christian

As told by Aristoxenus, and after him Cicero and others, around the 4th century BC, Pythias and his friend Damon, both followers of the philosopher Pythagoras, traveled to Syracuse. Pythias was accused of plotting against the tyrant of Syracuse, Dionysius I. As punishment for this crime, Pythias was sentenced to death.

Accepting his sentence, Pythias asked to be allowed to return home one last time, to settle his affairs and bid his family farewell. Not wanting to be taken for a fool, Dionysius refused, believing that once released, Pythias would flee and never return.

Pythias called for Damon and asked him to take his spot while he went.

Dionysius agreed, on the condition that, should Pythias not return when promised, Damon would be put to death in his place. Damon agreed, and Pythias was released.

Dionysius was convinced that Pythias would never return, and as the day Pythias promised to return came and went, Dionysius prepared to execute Damon. But just as the executioner was about to kill Damon, Pythias returned.

Apologizing to his friend for his delay, Pythias told of how pirates had captured his ship on the passage back to Syracuse and thrown him overboard. Dionysius listened to Pythias as he described how he swam to shore and made his way back to Syracuse as quickly as possible, arriving just in the nick of time to save his friend.

Dionysius was so taken with the friends' trust and loyalty, that he freed both Damon and Pythias, and kept them on as counsel to his court.

This is why they say they are called the Knights of PYTHIAS... It's what they say.

But this is what they are really symbolizing:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pythia

The Pythia was widely credited with giving prophecies inspired by Apollo, giving her a prominence unusual for a woman in male-dominated ancient Greece. The Delphic oracle was established in the 8th century BC.[1] Its last recorded response was given in 393 AD, when the emperor Theodosius I ordered pagan temples to cease operation.

During this period the Delphic Oracle was the most prestigious and authoritative oracle in the Greek world.
The oracle is one of the best-documented religious institutions of the classical Greek world. Writers who mention the oracle include Herodotus, Thucydides, Euripides, Sophocles, Plato, Aristotle, Pindar, Aeschylus, Xenophon, Diodorus, Strabo, Pausanias, Plutarch, Livy, Justin, Ovid, Lucan and Julian.

The name 'Pythia' derived from Pytho, which in myth was the original name of Delphi. The Greeks derived this place-name from the verb pythein (πύθειν, "to rot"), used of the decomposition of the body of the monstrous serpent Python after she was slain by Apollo.[2] One common view has been that the Pythia delivered oracles in a frenzied state induced by vapors rising from a chasm in the rock, and that she spoke gibberish which priests reshaped into the enigmatic prophecies preserved in Greek literature.

It always is symbolic of Greek or Babylonian Mythology one way or anther.
Always.

Even the Bible speaks of Mystery Babylon.

Something serious went down right here:

It is my belief that all of the mytholgy from Greece, Babylon

rituals in Ancient Egypt, Persia...

All that history is still alive and well today. All those traditions.

You take a look at most of the Art (especially their logo) and Architecture... and you can translate it by understanding their language.

Right away when I looked at the Knights of Pythia logo I saw the representation of a Woman... and I thought that it was kind of odd.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e5/Knightsofpythias.png

A triangle pointed downwards typically represents a woman.... And I even learned this in art school. It represents a vag!na... seriously.

A triangle pointed upward typically represents a man.

This is why I put this part in bold:

The Pythia was widely credited with giving prophecies inspired by Apollo, giving her a prominence unusual for a woman in male-dominated ancient Greece.

Most of these Masonic Brotherhoods do idolize some kind of female though.

It's all representative of greek mythology, or babylonian mythology one way or another.

I'll look a little bit more into the Knights of Pythia... But if you ever want to a little bit better understanding of the masonic language, I'll show you a couple of videos.

You should post some pics of the jewlrey you have.
