I have an extreme appreciation for Wendy & Lisa, The Vanity 6, and girl groups in general. When done correctly girl pop groups can be great.

It's crazy how Prince went to school with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Morris Day, Jellybean, Andre Cymone and those guys. And all were in separate bands in high school.
