I've always been a proponent of being able to laugh at myself before others can make fun of me (maliciously or not) so I don't suffer any bruised ego, and have always been fascinated by the sheer worlds apart that me and my life is from many others. And I rarely feel the need to hide anything. Perhaps it's semi-therapeutic to just be open with things, especially with folks such as ISH, that I'm pretty sure won't try to spare "my feelings" and sugarcoat anything.
