Gimmick of the Year: Bill O'reilly (Can't be the only one that likes him...he always gets hated on), ConanLovesNBC

I don't expect to be put on any list anymore. I've quit trying to making laughs for like a year now and ISH has really cumbled apart because of Jeff. Won't be long until this forum becomes dead with posters like mbell and BankShot

- in spite of his long-time veteran posting status, the renowned "LD" made his biggest splash in 2009. after years in a primarily lurking mode, lamar finally opened himself up to the rest of the OTC with his playful semi-genuine gimmick as 'charlie zees #1 fan'. however, the photos and radio pwnage and tps coverage only acted as an initial thrust to propel the LD-train onto superstar status. his readiness to take on anybody at any time in the trash-talk arena, his extensive knowledge of music and the film industry, and his own self-proclaimed hatred for threads just like this one - all have acted as factors to propel monsieur doom to the top of the ISH OTC ladder, as a premier poster.

- could the worst ISH poster be the arch nemesis of the best? should that be the case? what we do know is that meticode represents everything that doom does not. bland, repetitive, annoying, uninteresting, unresponsive, self-loathing, and self-sacrificial, this ultimate second-hander would make ayn rand role over in her grave. deriving his only happiness from his (likely much more intriguing) wife and daughter, as well as a misplaced pride in listening to as many indi-rock and pop-rap albums as humanly possible, the meticode man can't help but make respected ISH posters such as deuce wallaces and playtetris shake their heads in disgust. how long will he last when his wife realizes she could do much better than her quiet worshiping billy mays look-alike and decides to leave with their daughter? only time will tell. in the meanwhile, meticode has one more trophy to put up on his wall of shame.

Nah I haven't checked them yet, but I think I got the thread saved on my laptop. Hey I can dunk now, just it is ugly as hell and I wanna be able to do it consistently in games. My vert is very bad.

normally I give a speech about how self serving these threads are and how everyone on this board seeks recognition and validation too much but honestly I think OTC has done a WONDERFUL job of seriously limiting the bullsh*t "who's the most versatile poster" type threads. So I'll bite:

Best Poster, NBA forum: StroShow (honestly I came here originally to read the NBA stuff but barely check in there anymore, but Stro knows h*s sh*t, talks about lesser players, and definitely deserves the nod)

Worst Poster, NBA forum: tie PleezeBelieve and BruceBlitz (f*cking idiots, bruceblitz doesn't actually watch any basketball, he just copy+pastes stats and tries to drop knowledge, Pleezebelieve is just an inbred with missing chromosomes)

Best Poster, OTC: playtetris - a refreshingly relatable perspective. Of all my favorite guys here, playtet is the most consistently on point. He cuts through the bullsh*t without getting caught up in it, he keeps it right, and he's clearly one of the brightest members of this strange ISH subculture. Best taste in music and movies of anyone else I can think of here.

Worst Poster, OTC: Legend of Josh, Starface, and CartmanClone (and their many alt nicks)(that the latter two have to have because their endless ignorance keeps them on constant ban)

ISH Poster Hall of Fame: what the f*ck does this mean? I nominate GOBB's old ass

Ridonks - Just keeps chugging along... One of us old-timers, but he seems to be getting better and more comfortable in his role as our resident savant on virtually all topics. He can mix it up on nearly every topic. Donks can also fire back with the best of them if someone steps on his toes.

Worst Poster, OTC:
I feel that everyone contributes something to the boards. I won't be bullied into choosing. :no:

ISH Poster Hall of Fame:

Thorpesaurous - totally underrated legacy on ISH.

GOBB - Doesn't post nearly as much as he used to, but when he does, he makes it count. He is still always present in boxing threads, which certainly gives him extra points with me. He and I rarely disagree on any topic and, when he occasionally reverts back into the old GOBB, he can still crush souls... Don't test him.

KBlaze - Still killing it with his mix videos, although he doesn't post nearly as much as he used to (or, maybe he does... Don't frequent the NBA Forum too often). He has legendary status on this board, though.

RBP - I saw him one time a few weeks ago, but spottings are few and far between these days. There is a silver lining, because people don't confuse the two of us nearly as often (similar username, Bruce Lee avatar, similar interests). But, he was certainly an important contributor to the board.

Worst Trend:

The explosion of "no homo." Yes... It had been around prior to 2009, but it became way too commonplace in the last year. The most mundane phrases began to be followed by "no homo"... Where it wasn't even applicable. That sh#t needs to go.

Phrase of the Year:

Swaggerless Manatee and it isn't close.

awesome. i'm actually most curious how you'll take to her writing style. obviously her philosophy (which i think you know something about) can be a little blunt and narrow-minded, but as much as the academic world discredits objectivism, even more of it flat out hate her writing style. and while i can understand the former, the latter confuses me. it may be redundant and repetitive, but its so full of imagery and creativity - i just love reading random passages over and over again. its also really rhetorical, but as long as you read it with that in mind, its easier to appreciate her incredible vocabulary. i guess i understand the critiques, but don't get how they could ever overwhelm her qualities as a writer. you know your stuff, so i'm interested to see your initial reaction.

also, you're better off starting with 'the fountainhead' and then if you like it enough, moving onto 'atlas'. at least in my mind. then you read the supplementary material that doesn't matter as much (i've only done 'anthem' thus far, which was pretty cool).

Amoeba did seem to have a pretty large reservoir of OTC poster tidbits. He always attributed it to lurking for a long time before posting. Could be true I guess, would seem odd luring so long when he amassed something like 2000 posts in a week though. I'll forever think it was J$'s scattershot ass.

possible. if it was, it wasn't genuine at all though. amoeba big upped gza and rza primarily, whereas starface has made a moron of himself by calling gza a 'backpack rapper', while proclaiming eternal love to ghost. but the posting style was definitely similar.

that was actually a conscious choice made a few months ago. before that, for years, i would have proper grammar for anything and everything. even instant f*cking messaging. i can type faster without capitalizing though, so i've gone with it instead. i used to have the same problem as you did, but you really do get used to reading the non-capitalization posters. hell, i used to flat out ignore (read: not read) anybody who didn't use capitalization. then i quickly realized all of the intellect i was missing out on by being so discriminatory, so i loosened my stance. and now look - i'm one of them!

Worst Poster, NBA forum: Trolls... cotdt, lyin, cantstop, PB, hawkfan, Duncan4mvp or whatever he is, and all his aliases... CB4goat, and his aliases.. I only have 2 people ignored, and he's both of them

Best Poster, OTC: Too many to name, so instead check out the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams.

Worst Poster, OTC: right now? Ashar0008 or whatever... just getting on my nerves with how hard he is trying
