Avatar is absolutely at its best in a large theater (preferably an AMC), on a huge screen, with Dolby surround sound, and in 3-D.

Anything you'd download, outside from the eventual Blu-Ray release, won't even come CLOSE to what you'll experience in the theater on 3-D.

Yeah, I'm downloading it now, yet to see if it's as obtrusive as the comments suggest.

The screens don't seem to show a watermark. I don't usually mind, as long as they aren't on the screen the entire time.

The last collage of screens show it, "Trial version something something." If it flashes for a few seconds I can handle it, but if it's really 20% of the movie like the comments say that sucks.

I downloaded that version of the Road and I'm pretty sure It's not the correct one. Theatrical is about two hours and that version is only about 80 minutes. And the quality is terrible.

Built an htpc to hook up to my 1080p hdtv and I couldn't be happier.

On top of all that the RIAA can't detect you and you don't have to upload.

All news groups are free. Your ISP probably gives you usenet access, but only a few Gb per month. So you can read headers and follow discussions like on ISH. The binary groups have the files, and you usually need a premium usenet provider like SuperNews, GigaNews, or EasyNews because they offer unlimited bandwidth and a year and a half retention of files.

It'd be like if we could post files with our posts on ISH, but Jeff only keeps the files around for a couple months. You'd pay SuperNews 19.99 a month to be able to download all those files at blazing speeds and be able to access posts from over a year ago.

That is f#cking pathetic on so many levels. There are nights when I actually prefer a film with subtitles. There is something cool about watching a film made from a completely different perspective in a completely different language and I like getting into that little rhythm of reading the subtitles and bouncing back up to the action. It is like a mix of my two favorite things: movies and books.

Agreed. It's sad, really. Ever see Quarantine? It was pretty much an exact copy of the Spanish original[Rec], except for being in English. That was almost literally the only difference. They spent millions of dollars, because so many Americans have qualms with reading.

My favorite right now is Lover, You Should Have Come Over, but it changes frequently. I've been listening to it twice a day consistently for about a month now. Once now since I started working 12 hours a day.

'lilac wine' is my top track of his as well, jail. the intro is spine tingling before the acoustic comes in and completely changes the tone of the rest of the song.

i've only heard his chicago (i think it was chicago) concert on youtube, split into all the different songs. he was definitely a passionate live performer.

i have no idea which song it was, but it was during the chicago concert - he's holding a note for about 8-9 seconds (come to think of it, it may very well have been the lengthy note at the end of 'hallelujah'), and then the crowd erupts into applause and he just sort of snaps his head up, almost surprised. it really illustrated just how zoned into the music he was when he performed live.
