RIP Power Rangers

Last weekend after 700 episodes and 17 seasons, the long-running Power Ranger series came to an end. The karate-miming, putty-patroller-beating group reached massive highs with toy sales and ratings in childrens’ television, and also terrible lows with the tragic and dark crime that involved a past child star.

Surprised this thread is still going on.. I will thus add to it, and continue to.. continue it.

I enjoyed the show immensely. This show is the reason I woke up early for the bus. It came on at 7, and I was always awake by then, but never ready. This show came on, I'd wake up earlier (6:30?) and get ready, so I could just watch this until the bus came. Eventually my buddy from up the street came down to join me, and my little brother. We loved it... fake-fought in my back yard countless times. Some of my best childhood memories, actually.

On a related note... I continued the "waking up early" even after I outgrew Power Rangers. Why, you ask? SportsCenter.

The Disney company got out of it just the right time though since it has a samurai theme and it would be tough to rewrite in into an American version.

I started losing interest after they got their third set of zords. Totally stopped watching after that second movie came out too. It was ridiculous...a little kid morphed into the blue ranger in an adult body. And car zords simply seems too lame.

When the original American power rangers came out in 1993, I was already too old (like almost 15). When I was younger in the 80s, I did enjoy watching Bioman, Maskman, and Liveman.

And there was also the lone metal clad space sheriffs named Gavan, Sharivan, Captain Shreider (Japanese actor but character name is interestingly Jewish LOL), and Spielvan...

Preview/Montage of this "Legends War" they're supposed to be having. Obviously they can get whatever rangers they want IN costume but as far as speaking roles, Tommy is the only original that signed on. Apparently everyone else of the original 6 declined because they said Disney was too cheap and rude in their invitations.
