Who has the best crossover in the NBA? The best handles?
To me D Wills has the best crossover.
As far as the best handle idk....I have to think....I'll be back with visual evidence.

Best crossover, DWill. AI still has best handles. Hes not quick enough to crossover everyone like DWill can anymore.

I got Jamal Crawford for best crossover although D-Will would be 2nd.

Visual's kinda bad but you get the point.
Best handles could go to anyone really. I guess I'll go w/ Rafer Alston. Although there are many players who could hold the title and I would not argue.

It is Jamal Crawford. He has the craziest combos. Then there is a huge game then Deron Williams. Then another huge game Chris Paul/Rondo/Rose/Nash

I forgot about Crawford. He has some crazy crossover moves. I haven't watched him as much in the past couple years, but his moves are insane.

I mean it all depends on what floats your boat.
If I, on a certain day, liked ball control and dexterity I'd pick Nash or CP3.....if I wanted streetball flavor I'd go with Jamal Crawford.

Forgot about Rafer he has to be in the convo too.
I remember when he first got into the league and they would call travel on him every time he tried and AND 1 move even if it wasn't a travel.

I loved Rafer. Can't hit a layup for his life but he is fun to watch. Wouldn't have gotten to the Finals w/o him.

IMO: Rondo, Dwilliams, D. Rose ...in that order
chris paul, deron williams, steve nash. those 3 to me are the best because they go wherever they want to go and can never lose their dribble.

I think Chris Paul is def handles, he can power dribble easier than anyone else. Cross I think Derron Will, he sets people up perfect and has like 90% efficiency of crossing people. I dont think Alston fits in here cuz hes got those, do tricks in one place handles, but not those fly 45 miles an hour while power dribblin handles.

There's a move I've been looking for. It was the rookie/sophomore game when Deron was a sophomore, he made a move as a whistle went off and he just annihilated his defender. It was a crossover spin or something. I remember seeing it and flipping out. It was the kind of move that made you want to turn the tv off and go outside and practice it. Too bad I haven't been able to find it because it was during a whistle.

DWill has the most effective crossover in the NBA. His high crossover has shook a whole lot of people out of their shoes. Nash,Kobe,Wade,Alston, and Baron Davis all have stupid good handles as well.

Yea, gotta be Deron. Not just because he went to Illinois, either... lol.
Deron just has so much more POWER in his crosses than anyone. Who is gonna get a hand on it... nobody. And people say that he does simple moves... well not really that simple. Go outside and try to do those.
A lot of people like to play with the ball while they dribble. It's almost like they entered some daze where they are just dribbling the ball pointlessly, but Deron seems to always be doing effective moves and it seems to me like he has the reaction to make decisions on his crosses. Which is absolutely amazing.
Someone might say, "I'm gonna try to break this dude off with a cross then go behind the back." and it might look prettier as a chain, it might work, too, but the point is that it's pre-planned. It almost seems like Deron is making his decisions in the moment... that's what I was trying to say.
Edit: Look @ this at :27, whoever was talking about it not being a travesty that when Steph dropped Yao he didn't shoot. Once you break someone badly, no matter where you are... YOU GOTTA SHOOT IT! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MN8JTYGDP8

He does do simple moves, he just executes them better than anyone else. He does them harder and faster that anyone in the league, IMO. And he doesn't carry. At least I've never seen him carry.

i like d-will's best. he has those types of counter moves, almost unorthodox. maybe simple, but the way he does it makes you go "huh"? he can either drive with it or transition into a shot/pass
i like b-roy's stepback crossover. he's maybe best at creating an open jumper.
stylistically, i just like the way wade's look. he goes hard with it.

Only one mention of D Wade? His change of direction on his crossovers is the best in the league, bar none.

In my opinion Jordan had a very effective, yet simple crossover that I copied, that most people wouldn't even know is a crossover I guess. Many people would consider that an and1 street ball type of crossover = more effective. 1st you have to set them up dribbling, and then cross them. Over all I find that less effective then just crossing them over in .2 seconds.
jstern
03-01-2010, 06:14 AM
Not the one I was talking about, but I like this one. I've tried copying it, can do it sometimes, but physically it's very hard to do, because of how low Jordan goes.

I can see how one could admire Wade's crossover but he has that basic "over the top of your hand" crossover that's so easy to do yet makes you go:eek: because he splits the double team with it.
Still not on the level of D Will's imo.

Best Handles, and Best Crossover were are different things.
Crossover is a change of speed and direction move, first step move.
Handles is your ball handling ability and moves with ball. With that distingushed.
The Best Crossover in the league without a doubt is Deron Williams.
The Best Handles in the league without a doubt is Jamal Crawford

Xovers = Timmy Hardaway,
Handling = Nick Van Exel
d will''s cross doesn't look sick to me. it's pretty vanilla yet he gets it done. it's not something i'd bother to look up on youtube. he is the tim duncan of crossovers. kinda boring but still highly effective.

Aside from Deron, I like Wade's crossover. He doesn't even pull it real hard, he just throws the ball forward to the other side of his body and he's gone. Already at the rim.
