it was really nice here today. caught a massive bass 4.6 pounds out of this lake my buddy lives next to. also caught 2 2.5 pounders, it feels great to get out in the nice weather after such a long, snowy, cold winter. cant wait to bring out the big boat and go striper fishing. who else loves fishing?

I go with a buddy of mine a lot when it's warm, he thinks he's Pro Bass Tour or whatever material. All I know is when I feel a tug, pull. I'm really not in it to catch fish, it's mostly catch'n'release anyway, just bring a few beers and go out on the boat and have a good time. Mostly crappie, walleye, and small catfish, nothing worth keeping.

i don't keep them either maby 1 a year. they say its bad to eat more then 2 bass a year there high in mercury. yeah i love going out on the boat smoking a few bowls and drinking a few beers. i was using a big spinner today and catching big bass. no picture of the big one he was bleeding and i wanted to get him back in the water quickly.

My parents live on Lake Fork. Any big time fisherman knows Lake Fork. Its one of the top lakes in the world for bass fishing. My parents just moved there within the past two months. They live right on the water. Very nice place.
My dad has always been a HUGE fisherman. He even knows Jimmy Houston and has gone fishing with him 3 or 4 times. As for me, when I was younger, up through middle school, we'd go fishing all the time. But I kinda got tired of it, but here lately, I've been getting the bite to go more often.
I'm sure I'll be doing a lot more fishing this summer than I have the past few years.

back in the day i was close to being the lebron james of competative match fishing. what we do is a completely different thing to that unrefined yank out the bass crap you have over there. its a different world of complex fishing techniques. as reflected by the fact that england is the elite team in the world.
any form of pleasure angling is ok by me also. if theres water im fishing, and catching.

It's therapeutic, tranquil if you will. The soft rhythm of the waves, the almost dead silence of being out on the water. You're from ME, you gotta at least throw out a lobster trap every now and then.

So how's it work? X amount of time and at the end everyone adds up their total weight? Do you have to share a boat? Do you have to calculate the weight in those crazy ass "stones?"

Styles p didn't you say you lived in Salem? Where you usually fish at? My dad lives in cumberland county in NJ, I used to go out fishing with him when I was younger when he had his boat but since he got rid of it I haven't really been. And that was when I was about 12.

All I know about the NJ side of the commodore barry bridge is that it's easy to get lost there. Talk about the boonies :oldlol: I was relieved as hell when I found the wawa.

They are called Crappie. 99% of people call them crappie. While most people refer to Spotted Sea Trout as "specks".

In the Midwest they're called specks among several other names. It's a common name you dolt. No one walks around saying they fish for pomoxis. Either way you were being a jackass and I was right.

so the same local bass like all those different color lures?
any idea what the basis of that is supposed to be? because it seems a little far-fetched that a local group would be used to that many different colors of the same species of lizard or whatever.

Nice! The Great Lakes have an awesome steelhead run for sure. Pacific Northwest wild steelhead are pretty cool.
