The AP reports: The similarities between Baylor and Duke are obvious in that both are small private schools known for their academic excellence. But there has never been any comparing their success in men

To me, this one comes down to a couple factors: whether Duke's revitalized inside game can match Baylor's size advantage, and which big time scorer, Scheyer or Dunn, has the most efficient game.

Baylor runs everything through Dunn and, when hot, he's a beast. But when he's cold, they have a really tough time finding consistent offense. Scheyer looked much better vs Purdue than he has recently, and usually exercises decent judgement when his shot isn't falling.

If Singler can compete in the mid-range area despite Baylor's size and zone, the Bears will be in trouble.

Agreed. Thomas just takes up space on offense and Zoubek is waaaay too slow for Baylor's big guys. He's been struggling holding onto each rebound he's gotten.

Plumlees are both athletic and physical enough to keep up with Baylor.

Yeah, that goaltend was stupid. that ball was not goin in. oh well. Baylor went on that run that I knew they were going to make. Dunn and Tweety sure are bein given some leeway on defense out on the perimeter. The refs finally called a foul when Scheyer had the ball in the final minute and a half. But if the refs are gonna let Baylor be that physical that far away from the basket, Duke doesn't stand a chance.

Duke needs to do something different on offense, b/c that zone started killin them in the final 5 minutes. Keep Zoubek and Thomas out of the game, too.

This game was NOT decided by the officials. If anything it was when Baylor stopped running and started playing half court ball with 4 minutes remaining. That was their big mistake, then they couldnt get a defensive rebound lol.

Funny how the last couple weeks all we've heard is that Duke didn't deserve a #1, that Duke will be exposed against good teams, that Duke's players are overachievers whose bubble will burst... then, when they win, it's all about how great Duke's players are, but they go there to become mediocre.

Anyway, my implication was never that Duke didn't have players. It was that their players were more solid down the stretch than Baylor's were. Not officiating, not seeding, not luck. Being better disciplined and coached doesn't necessarily mean less talented.

I find it more ironic that 2 of the top 3 seeds in the Midwest were out by the second round and none of the 3 made the Elite 8. Everyone was talking about how strong that bracket was and the Elite 8 matchup was a 5 vs. 6. And a lot of people had Tennessee losing 1st round.

A lot of people were saying Duke's bracket was the weakest before hand (including myself) so I doubt many are surprised to see them there.
