He gets more calls than anyone in the league and it's not even close, I'm not going to lie. He's on a completely different level when it comes to superstar calls..it's like Wade Finals except every game during the regular season. He's on pace to make the most free throws since Jordan in 85-86. And to be fair LeBron attempts just as many free throws..he's just not a 90% free throw shooter.

They just showed the press conference on ESPN during halftime. It will probably be on sportscenter as they're making a big deal out of the fact Durant is now #2 in history for games with 12+ FTM in a single season.

Lol @ Taken out of context. Of all people you think after losing Kg would compare Durant to Jordan in a positive light?
He aint put Jodan down because its true. ANyone can tell you he got preferential treatment

he most definitely meant it as negative.

"i thought we were playing michael fuc*** jordan out there tonight. the way he was gettin the whistle, he..he..durant damn near had more free throws than our entire team"

He did the rip move on Ray Allen and got 3 free throws. Later Pierce stripped him apparently and they called it a foul.

He's only 21..imagine how upset they're going to be in 4-5 years.

Durant gets 3-6 free throws a night on that swipe through move at the 3 point line. The defender crowds him, Durant lunges, the defender reacts... Durant puts his arms in between the defender "pretending to shoot"... instant 3 free throws.

Getting that called once or twice EVERY game will definitely inflate his FTAs a game.

(And he is just taking advantage of the rulebook. But I do believe they should change that rule.)

They're making an issue out of the free throws because many of them were poorly called, which essentially puts the chance for them to win out of their control and into the hands of officials.

I'm the last guy who'll make an excuse when the C's lose (especially on account of the refs, cos I truly don't think it happens all that often), but tonight was pretty awful. C's murdered OKC in the paint tonight...attacked the rim, scored a ton of points and were rewarded with 17 ****ing free throws for their efforts. Durant alone got 15 just because he's Durant. Not saying the kid didn't get fouled at all, but he didn't get fouled that much.

That cost us a win. That's why they're mad.

I agree, but let's not act like Pierce isn't nknown for initiating contact with defenders to draw a call, particularly on the same rip through move.

And with regards to the one on Ray Allen, yes he is really shooting when he does that. It's not uncommon for him to actually still make that. The one on Pierce was definitely bad, but shit happens. End of the day, they got beat by Jeff Green on back to back 3s running the exact same play. Hey KG, how bout you stay home on Green since he just hit a 3?

nobody could defend anyone last night, but some of the fouls in that game were crazy.

yes, tommy was dead wrong about an ovbious reach in but that happens every night, the play where durant got 3 foul shots for a play that he didnt even look like he had released the ball on, and THEN pierce later did the exact same play and even looked even more apparant he got fouled in the act of shooting...and the celts got sideline out of bounds.

how does that happen?

am i missing something?

don't come at me with " your a sour loser, KG better man up, You lost".. all that garbage, a loss is a loss, it doesn't mean the ref's can't suck and I can't vent about it.

There were a couple horrible calls.

I haven't complained about officiating since the Cavs Celtic series I think it was Game 4 in Cleveland in 2008..last night was the most obvious bias for a player I have seen since..KD was getting LeBron calls and more..the Pierce strip had me nearly ready to smash my TV..it was ALL ball at a crucial point in the game and when KG got pushed in the back on an Alley Oop..refs just hate the Celtics now,I think all the trash talking finally got to them and we haven't got calls all year long.

"I've never been, in all of my 15 years, part of a team where you shoot 60 percent and still lose," said Rasheed Wallace

On the night, the Thunder got to the line 34 times. Kevin Durant had 15 free throws alone, making all 15 of them. The Celtics on the other hand went 13-17 as a team from the free throw line.

No team with Paul Pierce has any business complaining about bogus calls.

BTW regarding that call on Pierce late in the game i don't think it was his right hand the refs were looking at. It looked like Pierce was pushing Durant with his left hand before he stripped it with his right.

The shooting fouls were pretty much all legit. The reach in was questionable, but come on, that's called plenty often.

Mostly, Durant gets to the line so much because he's fouled so much. He's a tough guard. I'm all for NBA conspiracy theories. But I'm not buying the the NBA is all about pimping the ugly skinny guy in the small market. He had 2 FT's in the entire 4th Qtr that started tied at 83. I have no problem with you guys calling him a SS at all. I agree he is on his way there for certain, but to me a superstar is a player that is so far above his peers that instead of just being called a star he needs to be called a super star (if the makes sense to you lol). A superstar is a player that can go for 50 any time (Durant has this), a player that can single handedly win a game (check), a player that can win a playoff series as the first option (unknown) and a player that can beat a team in any way whether it be defensively, scoring, passing (Durant doesn't have this).

I personally only think that there are a couple of ss in the NBA. LeBron, Kobe, Wade, Paul and now Melo are the perimiter SS. Dwight is the only inside SS. C's have to be held at a different standard than perimiter players because it is not a centers job to distribute the ball.

Lol @ Taken out of context. Of all people you think after losing Kg would compare Durant to Jordan in a positive light?
He aint put Jodan down because its true. ANyone can tell you he got preferential treatment

the overwhelming hate that any successful player gets is scary. durant has a monster year and now hes getting dissed for getting too many free throws?

everyone should just be a brandon roy joe johnson type. 21-24 a night locked. never more, never less. that way they're good enough to get respect but will never get hated cause they're not at that level.

Being a millionaire definitely helps, you get to see the best doctors and get the top notch treatment, you would be surprised the machines there is these days that help acne immensely that the normal citizen cant afford..you can clearly tell he doesn't take care of that shit, mild acne means your at least trying and is easy to deal with on a daily basis..pimples the size of Oklahoma City means i dont care..KD is going to be the black Greg Popovich when he hits 40.

This is a total ignorant statement.

If there is a proven scientific way to cure acne, then anyone who's making more than lower class income would have flawless complexion.

GoBB is right, you dont just walk into a dermatologist, say "i'll pay whatever, cure my acne" and then boom he has Scarlett Johansson skin the next day.

And that comment at Pop is just immature.

I find it truly amazing how much hate KG gets. Aside from the hate Kobe gets from LeBron trolls and vice versa, KG has to be the most hated on NBA superstar.

1. KG is a d*ck.

2. People just hate Boston sports in general.

So you are saying Paul, Melo, and Howard can all beat a team in any way... whether it be defensively, scoring, and passing?

Does a superstar have to do all of those things? it sure seems that way when you talk about Durant

in which case, since when was Chris Paul known for defense?

Since when was Melo known for passing or tight D?

ditto for Howard with the passing and scoring at will (which he seems not to do at will...)

seems you just have a case of not accepting Durant as a superstar.

fair enough. Maybe once the media saturation gets to everyone, he'll be accepted

KG is the biggest trash talker in the league, in addition to being a wimp. He is too soft to try to score inside so he just takes jump shots yet he talks trash like he is the baddest guy around. If he tried that in a pickup game on the street he would get knocked out quickly. They are millions of guys who could drop KG in a heartbeat.

I bet there are a lot of guys in the NBA who would love to beat him senseless but they don't want to deal with the loooong suspension that would inevitably follow.

You may not be that aware of British teenage culture but in response to a post such as this, all I can say is "yep, k". It's a sarcastic way of disregarding someones opinions because it so fcuking stupid.

There's just way too many idiots and in-bred trolls on this website nowadays. All its about is Kobe vs LeBron trolls, and now we're seein an influx of Durant trolls. And if its not about Kobe/LeBron/Durant/Jordan, its about hating on anyone/everyone else not you or your favorite team. Bunch of ill-literate, basketball-lacking knowledgeable posters on this website from when I first joined.

Wow i stand in awe of your cleverness....not. It is well known that KG is the biggest trash talker in the league. The NBA players have said as much. His trash talk even offended his own teamate, Ray Allen, their first year together in Boston.

KG plays like a 7 foot shooting guard because he is too weak to play in the post. If guys didn't have to worry about getting suspended they would knock is weak ass around like a rag doll. I have seen him up close in a gym and i know there are a million guys who could cave in that bird chest of his.

I meant that Dwight is different than a perimiter player because he is not supposed to have the ball in his hands enough to destroy a defense through passing. Dwight is a defensive game changer, and offensively he is as good as anyone else he just doesn't have the 3 point shot etc that the perimiter players do. LeBron, Kobe, Wade, Melo all have the ability to destroy teams using their scoring, passing (Melo's career high is 11) and even defense. There is not a player in the NBA that I would want guarding the final posession more than LeBron or Wade. Kobe is a great option too, and Melo is not to far behind.

As for CP3 he was the league leader in steals the past 2 years and has made multiple defensive teams.

I can't blame him for being skinny but i can blame him for being a loudmouthed, non-clutch sissy.

Bosh is skinny too but attacks the basket far more than KG ever has. And KG has never been clutch his whole career. He just talks tough but when crunch time comes all he can do is grab his pom poms and cheer on Pierce.

If I post videos of Josh Smith making 3s, does that mean he is a good 3 point shooter?

Real Men Wear Green

Garnett used to post more when he was younger, in Minnie. It's not about muscle so much as the facts that his role changed when he came here (he's not primary the focus of the offense and never was) and he's lost a lot of his athletic ability to finish inside. And the idea that Garnett is unclutch is stupid. He doesn't elevate his game much, I'll concede that, but before he lost his athletic ability his game was already at an extremely high level. He was the Cs best player in the Championship postseason run, and how you can do that while being a bad clutch player I have no idea, because that makes no sense.

KG is clutch. Grow a pair, he would likely kick your ass whenever he wanted. he is also (from what I gather) top 5 PF all time in the game.

From what you gather? In other words you didn't actually watch him play. Figures

KG has never been clutch. Even when he was in Minny he was reluctant to take shots in crunch time. It wasn't until they got real clutch players like Cassell and Spree that they got past the 1st round.

In his first year with Boston there were Boston fans on here complaining about how KG would wimp out in crunch time. The numbers don't lie.

http://82games.com/CSORT11.HTM

KG shot a weak 41% in crunch time, 68% from the line.

KG would have trouble punching his way out of a paper bag. I have seen him in person up close at a gym and he is not the least bit intimidating. He looks like a strong wind could blow him over.

Playing at a high level and being a clutch player aren't the same thing. Cassell wasnt' a HOF player but he was always a clutch player. Even if KG was the C's best player in their championship run that doesn't make him a clutch player.

Even in his prime with Minny KG didn't take it inside as much as Bosh does now and Bosh gets called soft.

Here are the clutch stats from KG's first year in Boston.

http://82games.com/CSORT11.HTM

He scored less in the clutch than such notables as Mike Dunleavy and Deshaun Stevenson. KG shot a dismal 41% in clutch time. Mr Weak Sauce shot 68% from the foul line in clutch time.
